I'll tell you exactly why he didn't investigate. Sam Bankman-Fried's girlfriend and business associate is Caroline Ellison. Gensler's boss when he worked at MIT was Caroline Ellison's father. Caroline Ellison's mother also works at MIT and she teaches a class called "Financial Obfuscation". She literally teaches students how to hide money from the government. When Gensler was at MIT he taught a class on cryptocurrency. The whole thing stinks. If that isn't enough, a portion of the proceeds of all this fraud goes to the Democratic party.
