This feels incredibly complete for a prototype, and the outside environment has me believing that this, the waterfall base, and the satellite base are part of the same hub world where you explore and take down rabbid bases and fine more levels like the gear temple
I feel like maybe this could have been the place where the game would have begin. Like in a way of, you know, throwing you right into the action.
This section is what's called a "vertical slice". It's the first chunk of a game built to functional completion, meant prove the core gameplay has merit. There's very little else in the leak that's as complete out of the box beyond a boss and a few early map chunks.
You and everyone else working to improve this prototype are legends. Please dont stop because this is amazing and there's a lot of potential here
It's amazing but also painful to watch... This would have been an masterpiece
I can't imagine the plotline, crazy dialogues or gameplay mecanics and levels that we can't have for the moment

Ever since the prototype was leaked I’ve always wondered if the community would find the model for the blue inspector rabbids that were on that one website. I definitely think that the more time that goes on more pieces to this game will be uncovered for the fanbase we will definitely be able to make the game ourselves.
This game with Rayman 3's gameplay and combat would be peak
You can totally tell a lot of these elements were used in the last shooter level in the final game.
the entire game was basically recicled, for example the pig riding levels reuse the riding mechanic from this demo and you can hack back the ability to get out of the pig, the rabbits also have combat AI still functional and react if you get close to them
i think between this demo and the final game there are enough hints to at least make it kinda functional, not fully there are too many holes left but at least some of it
@@carso1500 I’d say if enough people put in the work and effort we can get something fully functional but it might just be wishful thinking
This one REALLY looks like you can pass it as an early version of retail's Bunnies aren't scared of the dark. I can see the dining room at the end of the level in the robot battle area at the start, plus the glass used for the inside gardens you briefly see. Only thing you don't see is much decoration or detail props.
My friend was having a hard time understanding why this Rayman 4 prototype is so exciting to me, so I tried to construct a hypothetical analogy:
"Imagine if Nintendo announced Super Mario Galaxy back in 2005 and got everyone all hyped for it. Then, in 2007, when the game comes out, it's actually just a Mario Party installment with the Galaxy name slapped on it. For the next 16 years, everyone speculates on how awesome the original platforming version of Super Mario Galaxy would've been, poring over blurry screenshots and a single choppy trailer... then, 16 years later, the entire original beta platformer just randomly gets leaked on the internet for everyone to try for themselves."
Needless to say, he got it.

tbh i like this idea of exploring the world and defeating the rabbid bases, altough i'm not a 100% fan of the combat or the enemies, but maybe that's because nothing ever got finished
Given this was the most "complete" level in the prototype, im thinking they were going to have this be a demo stage of sorts. Also very curious if they have a HUD somewhere in the files, i wonder if it would show Rayman's health since for some reason they decided to have it displayed on Rayman.
Games in development shows a lot of those numbers when the ui is not ready, just to be able to balance the game properly. I hope, if we don't find any ui in the game's file that some fans will be able to do so and use the engine to integrate it into the game.
I'm sensing a Nature vs. Technology theme here, with the mushrooms giving Rayman powerups, and the Rabbids having these futuristic metal bases. As Michel Ancel would've wanted, no doubt.

Searching a bit about the band, they're actually from Oregon, in the United States. And they seem to make songs in lots of languajes.

This one is a big example of the final game re-using prototype assets. This is literally just bunnies aren’t scared of the dark.
Also. There is a big bunny in the prototype that seems to be the inspiration for the big rabbid boss in the gba game. But also. It’s model seems to have been re-used for serguei in the final console game.
This is awesome. With how much has come out with this leak, I think have a better idea of how the game is structured:
You have a wide open world to explore, with vehicles and ridable creatures to make traversable more engaging.
There are these Rabbid bases hidden in these worlds that utilizes a template design and focuses around small scale challenges, kind of like the Shrines in BOTW(that's the most obvious comparison I could think of).
And finally, we have specialized locations that offer the most substantial content in terms of gameplay, story, and setpieces. For example, that gear ruins area.
This game had potential to be a worthy follow-up to the previous games, and it's only until now do we get experience something close to that. Fantastic work to the people bringing this stuff to a more functional state!
Pretty advanced for a prototype
Well, it seems that the design of the lab would be reused in 'Bunnies Aren't Scared Of The Dark' in the final version.
Wow! Even compared to a few days ago, things look so much more functional now! Was this level just mostly functional on its own in a vacuum or is the community getting stuff fixed up?
this level has minimal fixes on its own, but this is basically what it would have been in the og leak, minus the sounds

Kinda like sonic project 06 but with only leaked builds so it will be harder but I know some dedicated fans will be able to do it!

Wow…. Words cannot describe this feeling. Bro I was like 7 when rayman 4 should’ve been releasing and at the time for me and a lot of other people it was hard to stay up to date without iPhones computers or even wifi.
Seeing this shit come out now feels unreal. Like I totally believed nothing even close to this would ever exist and that I’d die never seeing rayman4.

Naked Rayman is still just about the most cursed thing I've ever seen!
It is even more cursed with teenseys on his back while he is in a base with rabbids and fight them in 007 style.
I honestly never expected this game to actually have a playable prototype of some sort, it's really impressive.
I have always been disappointed with the ending of Rayman 4 as the story cries out for a sequel.

This is so freaking epic, this IS Rayman 4, pretty cool level and also the hooks looks much more functional and clear, really enjoy watching all this updates of the leak, please if you guys ever decide to re do the full Game please please post it on UA-cam so we can SEE all updates and donate money to all talented people who is working on unpack the leak
This game would have had more potential than the new mario rabbids sparks of hope, if made today and done right.
I had absolutely no idea that the original rayman 4 trailer was based off of a real game! 😳
So that is why you lose in two hits, its to encourage the player to change costumes. The more I see of this prototype the more I am saddened we never got this game.

Interesting to see this map was used, just reworked in the final game as one of the plunger shooting levels.
I Wonder if the game was going to have a stealth system of some sort ? The room full of sleeping Rabbids remind me of the sleeping robo pirates in Rayman 2 Revolution... You had entire sections that could be done stealthly if you wanted to avoid fights
Now, after prototype was leaked I'm even more angry at Ubisoft...

As a vertical slice this looks like it would've been at least a pretty good game if it'd been finished. Not the GOAT, but I would've happily bought and played it end to end back then, and I'm a picky snob when it comes to games so that's high praise. 😅
I like how the gameplay is, but the rabbits somehow do jumpscares and I don't like that so much but still is a nice prototype. I'm so curious to try Rayman 4 but 100% I will be jump scared.

You have go noclip to it sadly, a proper entrance was never made, though we are planning to add a proper one sooner or later
