@@CarlScherz Glad to hear that, it actually came in and I had a chance to set it up yesterday but haven't had much time to just enjoy it yet so hoping to get some time today.
The Trinnov processor is outstanding if you would have had it properly calibrated is a huge improvement over just adjusting the levels and if you have 4 subwoofers and calibrated it for waveforming that would make it sound like the images are floating on air and you would hear micro details I had a McIntosh mx 160 before it’s not even close to the Trinnov
Yeah, I was really bummed that I couldn't calibrate it and really, really thought about just opening up the microphone to replace the battery. I could tell that it was capable of more than what I was doing for sure.
I have had the avm 90 for a 6 weeks sound in music will be a big upgrade very clear vocals and instrumental separation. You will be happy with the upgrade
Thanks for sharing your experience, I'm looking forward to hearing it some more. It has come in and just yesterday had a chance to install it but not much critical listening yet.
Many thanks for the update, much appreciated. Starting with an already very good set up, it’s likely unrealistic to see a ‘significant’ upgrade (my choice of words I know), but good to hear it’s noticeable. Is that more for music, or both movies and music? TBH my main fear as I consider the investment of upgrading to AVM90 / ATI AT 527NC that the difference proves to be relatively small compared to the already very good Pioneer SCLX85 …
Yeah, the law of diminishing returns comes quick, unfortunately. The difference I hear is in both music and movies. Honestly, the best way to see if it is worth it is to try it out in your home and make sure that there is an easy return policy in case you decide it's not worth it. Trust me I know that feeling and if it wasn't for being able to hear it myself I wouldn't have even considered a change. Best of luck with what you decide.
The Trinnov is a lifetime purchase because they will always update it. Instead of using chips for the sound processing they use software. Still don't understand the price though. I have a AVM 70 and quite like it. Can't imagine how much better the Trinnov or AVM 90 would be.
Yeah, that is something I think is also a positive as I know the new wave forming seems to be an interesting new addition to the unit. Looking forward to sharing what the AVM 90 is like once I have a chance to sit down and listen to it.
@@haknys cheap in a vacuum but not by comparison. if you look at how much you get for the price of a trinnov vs how much you can buy in general its not great. but nothing in audio really is so they aren't alone.

As someone who has set up many dozens of trinnov processors, Unfortunately, is definitely not geared for your average hobbyist or even your typical installer for that matter to just plug and play and work out of the box not going to happen (But has gotten alot easier than before) It can be a very detailed lengthy set up process and unlike any other processor currently on the market, you really need to be trained. By trinnov to set it up properly or have someone that has been trained by them to set it up. Because you will miss so many things that are just hidden in the menus, that can make a giant difference. With what you did to get it up and running, you're getting only maybe getting 30-40 % out of it. As far as CEC, goes, that doesn't work well on any ultra high end product that i've come across. Not reliable at all As a japanese receiver for sure. This is the type of product. You'll definitely want to use a control system of some sort with plus at this price point, it shouldn't be a problem.
