This video is part of the 'Basically...' Series. In this series, I pay homage to creators that I love, trying to replicate their editing style while looking at the type of content they would look like. The intention is to challenge myself, pay homage, and even be a bit satirical of the original content. All of the work and content is my own (given the lack of copyright ownership over a 'type' of content or 'type' of presentation), and the videos are made with all the best intentions. There is only one video per creator, where I put in all the work to analyse a presentation method and try to replicate it as best as possible while also expanding upon it or altering it to suit my editing preferences (which was done in this video as well). Before you dislike the video or anything of the like, I ask that you try to watch it and see that the creation is indeed an homage and satirical (its intentions even explained in the video). There are plenty of examples of satire, such as: - "Hi, this is I Think I Can Write, I'm NOT Mark Brown" - The Top Patrons List Thank you!
Hi guys! Happy Halloween! For this year's Halloween, I thought I should become 'Game Maker's Toolkit' AKA 'Mark Brown'. I hope you enjoy the video! If you do, remember to Like, Comment, Share, and Subscribe!
Thank you so much Epy! I don't know, I considered it but if I am streaming I have to stream a bit lower quality than the footage I would use for a video, which would mean going back when making the video. I might stream games I've reviewed after reviewing them, though! That's always a possibility!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video Sam! We do have our own graphic and logo that we use on other videos, as well as a different editing style. As mentioned this was more of an homage/sequel! Thank you!
I enjoyed this vid more than gmtk's vid tbh. But to avoid the blind dislikes in the future make the homage less on-the-nose. Without the reference in the title and the logo, I think this vid wouldnt have been disliked as much.
@@ithinkicanwrite its odd how people are so defensive of youtuber styles, and yet in my world of digital art, copying a style is usually just seen as an homage and experimenting with an unfamiliar method. Its not like you tried to pass of this style as your own invention, I dont understand the butthurt of some people.
@@ordinarytree4678 A bit of that is also as to how the original creator of the style/brand perceived it and spoke of it on Twitter, which is understandable, I suppose. Though the intention truly was that of an homage, sequel to the original, and a great challenge in adopting a different editing style/presentation method.
"The 'homage series' the video is meant to be a part of does look at paying homage and replicating one style of editing, both in terms of content and presentation. The intention is always to challenge myself, pay homage, and sometimes be a bit satirical of the original content" I think most people disliking just think he's trying to be a GMTK clone. And I really doubt most people who disliked actually watched the video.
Thank you for that! I have the explanation now pinned as the top comment, maybe people will read that (given they, nor GMTK, watched the video to understand the genuine homage and satirical nature of the video) and give it an actual try.
Which they are, of course, entitled to. Except that the 'basis' on which they are disliking on (from the comments that I am getting) is just not factual.

Haha that's one of them. Though the big easter eggs are at the ending of the video this time! Haha
Another fantastic video! Also how would u feel about streaming games u would like to review?

Good idea acctualy
@@Cwackurz I hoped you would like that!
Vid was fine but I’d definitely consider developing your own graphics and logo. The line between homage and plagiarism is very fine.

The dislikes are very undeserved. Don't mind them, I think they just read GMTK's tweet and immediately disliked without reading your explanation!
Or they have a differing opinion and disliked the video.
