Resolving some oil smell I was getting inside my C300 W204 while sitting idle sometimes. Was pretty quick to update and I believe we have resolved most of the oil leaks. Will do a followup video replacing the vacuum pump when I get around to doing that one.

One of the best videos I have ever seen. Thank you
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Thank you! I am doing work for a neighbor's C300 that had the smell problem, and this video is very helpful and informative.
When you mean smell are you talking about a burning smell that comes through the inside vents but also on the passenger side front?
@@ruachbang6835 Yes, very noticeable as you said on the inside but it was also from the outside. It did turn out to be this issue, oil was leaking onto the catalytic converters from the cam plugs
Great! Nice ,simple and clear video👏
fixed my friends “white smoke” problem with the help of this video.
Thanks for your video. Now i can fix my oil leaks problem. 😁👍
Awesome, hopefully it worked out for you!

Can u do a fuel injector replacement on W204 please? Great video. Thanks
Thanks for sharing :D
Thank you good job
Thank you as well! 👍
Awesome explanation! I have a leak in both the centrifuge and vacuum. Did you ever upload a video of the vacuum replacement?
They make gasket rebuild kits for the vacuum.
With camshaft plugs, did you see they were leaking or was this just a preventative measure? It's not clear from the video.
Helps Desperately Needed….I Changed My Cam Plug On My C300…Once The Engine Builds Temperature The Pressure Pushes The Cam Plug Out Causing A Leak. What Should I Do?…Do They Make A Sealant Or Something I Can Put On It To Stop The Leak?
oil separator inside centrifuge cover should've been replaced. they are the main cause for intake manifold failure.
Hey man quick question is it only 2 caps needed to replace. I bought all the parts and it came with a bigger cap as well. But I'm not sure where it goes. I think it might be for a different model. I have a 2008 c300 4matic sport
Same did you figure it out?
The big plastic cover is the actual "centrifuge cover"?
yo man whats up? Im hoping you can help me. I just did my moms spark plugs on this car and 2 of 6 had oil in the spark plug tubes. Oil on plugs and bottom of coils. Is that tube seals/valve cover? or something else. Im a honda guy just helping my Mom out. lol I know on honda its tube seals but german..not sure. Thank you for your time.

would the cam plugs be the same as the expansion plugs that Mercedes is referring to in my repair estimate? " ENGINE CENTRIFUGE COVER IS LEAKING OIL. RECOMMEND REPLACING COVER AND EXPANSION PLUGS" is what was listed on the form given to me from MB.
and I see that you changed only 2 plugs the kit I got had 3? part # 0009985690 (which is the small box you have in the video) what is that for? and part # 0009986590. (which is the plugs themselves that you installed) what is part #0009985690?? I didnt see you open the box or do an install on that
please help! about to tackle this project this weekend
Hi there, great video! Did you have to empty the oil to do those repairs?
NO, you do not have to empty the oil.
Got an inspection done at Mercedes Benz and they diagnosed Timing Covers - Both Cam Covers Heavy Leak with a estimate of $1200 to perform the work. Is this different from what you just did? I know service is usually much higher at dealerships but not sure how it comes up to $1200.
that's a different job than this is.
Why leave a watch on? Did it get scratched? I’d have to take mine off.
Awsome
Thank you!
My mngr changed all that & the valve cover gaskets last summer & now while the benz dealer was replacing my rear subframe he said all that stuff is leaking again..centerfuge,valve cover gaskets...should those be changed every yr?
So we’re there only 2 cam plugs ? My kit came with 3. 2 small ones and a large one but I can’t find the 3rd plug
There are two on the drivers side. One small and the larger cap.
I'm having an issue with my cam plugs. Once they've sealed tight after a drive I check on them and they seem to pop off to the point where they could potentially fall out. Any suggestions??
The car is still running?
My c300 is leaking from the drain plug , i never changed the metal washer since i was doubtful about changing it. Would you recommend it? The bolt for the drainage isn’t stripped FYI
change the metal washer every oil change
C300 2010 4matic sport.
CEL LIGHT CAME ON TOO RICH TO LEAN BANK 1 & 2 .
Changed the maf sensor & filters . Light still popped back on.
Thought it would be fuel injectors changed all of those! Light popped back on now with misfires.
Now i changed all my oxygen sensors along with spark plugs.
Light popped back on with same codes.
Could thos be a vacuum leak?
When stopped and idled it has a slight sputter.!
But when driving the car is fine.

Check the back cover that goes over the MAF sensor. If it's not seated properly it will give you these problems. It happened to me.
@@andrescott2305 the back cover as in????
Like check the whole maf sensor again? And make sure its flush and no gaps right?
@@b.trill6868
Yes. The cover that the air filters sit in. I had to put a little Vaseline on the gasket were the MAF SEALS so it would seat properly. Then I had to clear those codes. After that every thing was good to go...
@@andrescott2305 gotcha im going to give this a try
Ok good luck
I been told to put black silicone gasket before reinstalling a new cam plug. But you did not do so I am asking myself do I really need to put some silicone !?!?
