Yes to Jane Austen January! Winter is such a good time to re-visit the classics!
So true! I am so glad you are up for Austen in January! There is definitely enough interest so I will be doing it. Keep your eye out for a poll to select which book to read coming soon! 😊
The best thing about visiting the library (besides FREE books😃) is browsing the stacks. I love the serendipity of finding a gem you didn’t even know that you were seeking. Thanks for braving the heat to make this vlog, Jen. I’m looking forward to your reviews on a few of these books.
Browsing the library stacks is the best! Even with no a/c I enjoyed myself! I’m glad you enjoyed watching this. 😊
Hi Jen! I love libraries. Libraries make feel walking on air. 🙂📚
I agree! ☺️
Loved your library visit and haul. The surroundings of your local library is lush!😊
Not as lush as where you are but we take what we can get here in the heat of a California summer! 🥵
To Say Nothing of the Dog is one of my fav reads of this year ☺ It is very funny 😊
I’m so glad to hear that! I’m hoping to start it soon. 😊
I would enjoy a Jane Austen January read!

yes, I would be interested in joining your read-a-long Jane Austen in January. More time in the winter to read. Enjoyed seeing your library and a different self-check machine. Wish my library had the side room to purchase books. Enjoy your books. No preference for books, have only read Pride and Prejudice.
I’m so glad you want to join Austen in January! I will have a poll up soon to pick which book we will read. 😊
Hi zJen, I enjoyed this so much. I liked that little foot bridge neat your library. So pretty.😊
I'm so glad! It’s a lovely spot! 😊
Jen, I’d be very interested in a Jane Austen January.

Lovely video, Jen! Thanks for taking us along. Your library looks fabulous! I'd love to participate in a JA readalong in January 🙂
Thank you! ☺️ A poll for which Austen book we will read will be up soon - I’m glad you want to join in!
Yes very interested in Jane Austin January! Love my local library and enjoyed seeing your visit to your local library.
I’m glad you enjoyed this! And yay for Austen in January. I will have a poll up soon to pick which book we will read. 😊
Loved your video! It was nice to see what a library looks like on the other side of the country! I never saw a seld-check-out library! My library has librarians who do the check-outs which I like better as I have no idea how to use those things!
You chose some good books! I loved the scenery at your library too!
Thank you for making this video. I came to UA-cam to get out of a minor reading slump and your video did it! Thank you again!
You are so welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed going along to the library with me (and the self checkout machines are super simple but there is always a library employee on hand if you need help!). 😊
Look forward to hearing more about your plans for Jane Austen.
Really enjoyed your trip to the library. Sadly, mine had none of your finds.
I will have a poll up soon to select which book we will read for January. 😊
Going to add Frances Brody to my list! Your library bookstore is huge! Interested in a retelling Jane Austen January. Also trying to fit in a couple more books onto my summer book bingo card ❤
I’m glad you are interested in Jane Austen January. More details coming soon!
Absolutely, totally enjoyable video! So fun to see your library! Gorgeous surroundings, loved the bridge you walked over. So glad you were able to check out Letters From Skye😁 I have found LOTS of great books at the Library Stores. Like Winter Solstice for 25¢, many Pilcher books for really cheap, Presently reading a hardback cover of September I got for $1; really enjoying it. Have read 3 of the Beatrix Potter Tales, very good. Terabithia ALWAYS makes me cry. That must have been really uncomfortable in the library w/ no AC! Thanks for doing that. I LOVE libraries. The few reader friends or acquaintances I have, I forced to go on " Library Field Trips" w/ me. One hadn't been in a library in 50 yrs!!!! No card!!! Took her to our local to get a card; she couldn't believe how libraries had changed! When I'm able to drive again my field trips will launch out much farther. When I buy bks. at the library I always give more than they cost, like you said"It's the Library"! One time I took out Anne of G.G. the bk. was in such poor condition, I bought myself AND the library a copy. Gave it to them and you'd think I'd given them a million dollars! Hey, kids need to read Anne! Before surgery, every so often I would bake treats for the librarians, gotta keep them nourished you know. When I lived in my house I had separate bookshelves for my little grandchildren. Once again, recs to add to that "eternal TBR " list! YAY! Thanks so much Jen!!!🤗
Thank you, Eileen! I’m so glad you enjoyed this. And thank you again for the Letters From Skye recommendation…I’ll be starting it soon. 😊
Great video love seeing other peoples libraries. I love them - everywhere I go I manage to find a library or bookshop . I always go straight for the returns and new books after picking up my holds🤭we can get books from anywhere in the state of South Australia which means there are thousands to choose from - very lucky
That sounds like a wonderful library system you have! Thank you so much for watching. 😊
Look forward to Jane Austen January! ☺ enjoyed the library visit ... thank you for scanning the books on the shelves so we could see too! 😄 England, England sounds good!
I’m so glad you enjoyed coming to the library with me! 😄 I will definitely be doing Austen in January. Keep your eye out for a poll to select which book to read coming soon! 😊
I would love to do a Jane Austin in January

Your channel popped up for me today. I will love following along; as I am a lifetime reader and love going to the library. If you love reading seasonal selections; one of my favorite is Alice Hoffmans Practical magic series. I read them in chronological order which makes Practical Magic the 3rd book.
Welcome! I’m so glad you’ve found my channel. 😊 I love The Practical Magic series! I’ve been listening to one each October for the past couple of years. This year will be Magic Lessons.
Loved your video 😊. I now live in the Isle of Wight and didn’t know about the England England book so will seek it out . I think dying in the wool is the first in the Kate Shackleton mysteries and I have this ready to start ❤
The Isle of Wight sounds like a fascinating place to live! I hope you can track down England England. And I realized after I finished editing that that was not the first Kate Shackleton bookI found. 🤦🏻♀️😂
I read Daughter of Moloka’i and really enjoyed it!
I can’t wait to read it!
Loved your tour through your local library. I would be interested in participating in Jane Austen January.
Wonderful! I’ll have a poll up soon to pick which book we will read. 😊
One of my favorite libraries! I recently read Bridge to Terabithia for the first time and loved it; I saw so much of myself in Jess. I think you will enjoy The House on Mango Street. 🙂
It’s a good one! I need to come out your way sometime and check out the library there! House on Mango Street sounds so good…I’m glad you think I’ll like it. 😊
@@jensreadinglife: If you ever do check out the library and see someone who looks like me…it’s my son! 😉
I would like to read Jane Austen in January.❤

There is a great county library system where I live. Unfortunately fewer books on the shelves (and fewer shelves) than ten years ago. More computer access, private work rooms and 3d printing. Story time is a huge draw.
I haven’t noticed a decrease of books on our shelves (and hope I never do!). We definitely have more online resources than ever before!
Your vlogging skills are brilliant 👏🏼
You are too kind, my friend. ☺️ I need to hone some of your skills!
Well that was fun, Jen. Thank you for taking us along on your trip to the library! It looks like such a lovely spot.
You’re welcome! It really is a lovely little library. 😊
I'm interested in Jane Austen January!

I would definitely participate in Jane in January.
I’m so pleased, Susan! 😊 I’ll be putting up a poll soon to select which Austen novel we will be reading.
I used to teach The House on Mango Street. It’s a heartwarming and sometimes heartbreaking story told in many vignettes.
I’m looking forward to it!
Always love your reviews and the information you share.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Yes to Jane Austen in January.❤
Yay! I’m so glad you are in. I’ll be putting up a poll soon to select which book we will read. 😊
@@jensreadinglife yippee!😆
I just saw Frances Brody book in your video, so I hit pause to comment. I *love* her Kate Shackleton series. I was lucky to find the first 4 in my Zurich used book store, several years ago. Your library surroundings are so pretty!
I read dying in the wool first, I think. Kate is a great character, I think you'll enjoy these.
I realized after I’d uploaded my video that it was NOT the first book in the series! I need to just request the first book so I can read it already! 😂
@@jensreadinglife backlists are frustrating and enjoyable - at the same time! Tough to get the early ones.
Hello, I am interested in reading a Jane Austen in January. thanks.

Still interested in Jane Austen in January it will be summer here in Australia .if u are still doing it .

Hi Jen. I plan to read Jane Austen with you beginning in January. But I'm confused as to why you asked which book we want to start with. When you posted a poll, there were pictures of a series of her books. The books had no pictures on the covers. But I thot that was what you were going with?
I’m glad you are interested in reading Austen in January. I think the photo you saw was for my Emma M. Lion read along which also starts in January and we will be reading one book a month in that series. We will just pick one of Austen’s novels to read in January - I think reading them all might be a bit too much! ☺️
@@jensreadinglife Thank you! You're right. ❤️
How about an Elizabeth Goudge (or someone else) January instead? I'm sorry to admit I am a little tired of Jane Austen (shame on me!)
You can join my Emma M. Lion read along which also starts in January if you aren’t up for Austen! 😁
@@jensreadinglife sounds good I will do that. Also wanted to thank you for recommending Antoine Laurain- I read The Red Notebook in one day and have ordered The Presidents Hat- loved the writing and the quirkiness of the story.
@@user-nd5qr5gx4i I’m so glad you loved The Red Notebook and will be joining the Emma M. Lion read along! 🤗
