i love how many books you found at the library compared to b&n! i had the same realization recently: why the heck am i spending all my time and money at barnes when i can go to the library for FREE, find more books, and then use my money to buy books either second-hand, from independent bookstores, or good ol' b&n when i know i already love the book?! libraries really are SO iconic and i'm so glad we found our way back to them 🥰
Under the Whispering Door is not the second book of The House in the Cerulean Sea. The second book, Somewhere Beyond the Sea, will be released on September 10, 2024.
Yes! Just recently fell back in love with getting books from the library. Plus the Georgia Pines app allows me to just put a hold on a book I want to read and it will transit into my local library from any other library in Georgia. I love it!!!
The Georgia Pines system is the best I have ever seen. I put books on hold at the nearest library when I travel around the state; if I don't finish by the time vacation is over, I turn them in to my local library.
it’s funny because i went to the library to study right before you released this and came home with some books. lol, i grew up with a library for comfort and it felt nostalgic. Also there’s never too much Harry Potter!
I feel in love with reading both at the library but also at school. Reading and writing was about all I was kind of good at, and life was not great back then, but books were there always
I love "The Night Circus"!! I read it back in high school and haven't been able to stop thinking about it ever since. No other book I've read since has had such magical and beautiful imagery :') "The Summer Seekers" sounds intriguing, I'll add it to my tbr! If you need any other summer-y romcom recs, I'd suggest "Mrs. Nash's Ashes," which is about a woman who goes on a road trip w a sorta stranger (her ex-bf's writer classmate) who helps her fulfill the wishes of her elderly neighbor/friend. Also, "The Only Game in Town," where the residents of a small-town compete for a large money prize left by a beloved benefactor - the main character is very optimistic and kind, even to the mysterious newcomer who has also joined the competition. Both of these books are so lovely and lighthearted, I just had to share 😁
I read the night circus last summer and it’s been on my mind ever since! It’s so enchanting and I truly wish the circus was real so I could visit it!! I’m planning on re-reading it this year ❤
I fell in love with reading elementary-middle school. I used to read a lot and I stopped reading as much in high school, only did readings for school, but fell back in love with reading in college. I should visit my local library more often! I also love love LOVE going to Barnes and Noble loll its such a cozy place. Ive been stressed out lately and I wanted to watch a cozy bookstore vid and im glad i came across this vid!
I don’t like filming in front of people either I feel weird. I love how you’re doing something you love and enjoy, book shopping is so much fun. ❤ I heard so many good things about This could be us by Kennedy Ryan and I definitely want to check that book out. ❤it’s so hard to pick out just a couple of books at a book store. 😮 I love how you donate a book without getting another one. 😊
To answer your question, ive always loved reading From the moments i could start reading words, my mom got me lots of children books I was reading magszibes, newspapers, encyclopedias. As long as ot had words, I'll read it
The Running Club is a good one. I had a teacher in grade school that helped me read when I hadnt discovered reading yet. My favorite book then and now is the Princess.and the Pea.
Your outfit is so cutee!! Love the bow in your hair🥰 & yess I love the library I always come out with way more than expected ,something about the library just makes me keep picking books up lol
The Do-Over is SO cute!! I got a really pretty special edition the last time I went to Barnes & noble and it has teal sprayed edges with white hearts all over them. I don’t know if your b&n didn’t have it or not but it’s literally so pretty, and it’s one of the few special editions that’s the same price as the regular edition which is nice.
I used to spend years walking around Barnes & Noble, back in the old days when it was popular to go there. I actually most overcommercialized version of B&N. They have too many toys and knickknacks. Just bring more books, and more interesting books will be published and the big space can be used for that. I wish that physical products were more valued. We need things we can hold onto and pass down. Thanks Khalilah, I love how much you've grown, since I first saw your name and videos. Thanks for showing us your love of learning and books.
Khalilah in your element! Look at you shining! 😁 So great to see you having a great time book shopping again! Time for something light and fluffy after all the HP dramas. How dare they
The Seven Year Slip is a great romance read! There’s a time travel element, you just gotta turn off your logical science brain and roll with it 😁 The relationship with the main character and her aunt is what really got me hooked, it’s beautiful!
I highly recommend!! I read it last summer and the book is so enchanting and magical!! I really wish the circus was real cause I’d LOVE to visit it!! I’m planning on re-reading it this year, I hope you enjoy it 🫶
fun fact: the book you picked up (priory of the orange tree) is the same length as Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix. It just looks longer cuz of the formatting
Back when I lived in California I used to walk to my local library ALL the time! Now that I live in Puerto Rico I REALLY really miss it 😩😭 You should definitely take advantage of such a useful perk! Like I’ve come to appreciate little things like many book stores and libraries! Out here in PR we BARELY have book stores and what little libraries there are have such slim pickings and also don’t have nearly as many English books as I would like. Now I just use my Kindle Paperwhite SE and use KU. That’s my saving grace! 😅
"The Summer Seekers" sounds good. I can picture a movie with Jane Fonda as the 80 year old, Julia Roberts as the daughter and Aubrey Plaza as the driving companion. Another one to add to the list.
New subscriber here 👋🏾. You remind me of larryreads and you seem so cool. Bringing your viewers along is such an immersive experience so thank you for that 21:15 The way I said I would go to the library today but didn't, is wild.
So excited to watch this video!! Maybe I’m easily influenced, but I’m already on the third Harry Potter book because of you, and I just bought Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine 😂😅
I wish I had a sibling like you your energy is absolutely amazing. Also there is going to be a second book in the Cerulean Chronicles called somewhere beyond the sea it comes out September 10th 2024.
Hello💕 so off topic but I wondered blush you use? 😩 I have a hard time finding a blush that’s subtle and not to shimmery but still stands out with my skin tone.
I AM SO GLAD YOU DECIDED NOT TO PICK UP NEVER BY JESSA HASTINGS!! i think so many people in the book community can say that they weren’t a fan of that book, especially since the original print definitleyyy had some racist jokes in it and as a poc i dnfed it 😅😅
Okay but that super thick one The Priory of the Orange Tree? I just finished it and it’s literally my favourite book ever, which surprised me as I’ve not read fantasy for so long and am for sure a romance/fiction girly on the regular. I’d highly recommend!
Who else is ready for summer romance reading vlogs? 👀💕
Meeeeee
I am so ready!!! ❤❤
Yes! I read new Abby Jiminez book and it was fantastic! I got it first from the library. I also read Happy Place, but that was just meh.
Yes! Totally! I think The Night Circus is a movie too but I don’t remember.

I am here for the library content! I go to the library every Friday. So fun!

They’re my favorite to film!
picking daisies on sundays is apparently a cute read. i think it's decently short too.
Awesome haul. You will have so much fun reading this summer. I love how excited you get with reading. Love it.
Haha I can’t wait!!
Yesssss support your local library! It was also my favorite place as a kid 🤗
