Maybe Red/Green illuminated parking brake switch might be more suitable as an indicator of park-brake status, just saying for a friend.

I like this! Did you consider using some kind of valve on the brakes to where you could press down the brake pedal to the desired pressure and close the valve to retain that pressure on the line after releasing the brake pedal? Or is that a bad idea to have the pressure built up like that for a long time?

So using the hydraulic brake as a parking brake? That’s another option that people do

It's called a line lock I believe.
