That was so helpful. One question should you top up your old oil, or is it best to just run it till to low then change it or can you just by the colour. Is there a time limit how often you should change the oil. Thank you . Jan Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 UK

    • @Sewinggold

Only add to the oil if it goes below the low mark on the oil pan. When you tilt the machine back there will be some oil left in the machine. I would change the oil when it changes color. When clear oil gets yellow or when yellow oil gets darker. 1 year is a good time frame too.

Hello there, very useful tutorial in a language I can understand, eventually 😊 most of the videos are in hindi 😱 I have a question. I have a jack f4, I think the method to change the oil is pretty much the same. My question is :today, when I was lifting the machine to check on the oil level, as I started to lift it I heard a very strange sound. I kept on lifting and I Ended up chipping the paint of the sewing machine table where one of the hinges was😱 is it normal? I then noticed that I might should have pulled the machine closer to me. It was just a matter of millimeters, but that was the space the machine lacked to be able to bend. Hope what I wrote makes sense. I'm Italian 😅 thanks. I was very sad when I found out I had ruined the top of the machine's table 😭

My industrial sewing machine is running but it won’t stitch. I opened the oil pan and it was dirty. I emptied the oil and cleaned it. I will put new oil in but I’m wondering if there’s anything else I should do. The handle won’t turn because I think machine has been sitting too long unused and the oil has not circulated. My machine repair specialist is five weeks out on repairs. I have an industrial straight stitch Yamata.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

Great video, thanks! I have just got a second hand 8100e and upon opening the machine discovered there was only a tiny amount of oil in it (way below minimum) along with a ton of pins and other debris and the magnet was rusted I think. I couldnt unscrew the oil pan screw so just dabbed the oil out, but now im worried that the machine was being used with the dirty oil (or next to no oil). What problems could this cause in the machine? Is there anything else I should check for before using it (after replacing the oil of course).

You could literally use the empty bottle to suck the oil out of the oil pan. Squeeze out the air, suck out some oil. Dump the oil into another container and repeat until empty.
