The hook is lubricated by the pump in the oil reservoir area, which has the High and Low markings. That's what that reservoir is for. There is an adjustment for the amount of oil that is supplied by the pump to the hook. It's in the manual, page 17 of my manual.
Great video! Very nice to know as my wife just purchased another JUKI a few minutes ago while I was watching these 6 videos and this one is the JUKI 1541S industrial machine. This makes 5 JUKI Sewing Machines in our family now and I am so pumped and excited, I think I'm becoming a JUKI JUNKIE TOO! This video made everything perfectly clear about the lubrication process on the 1541S sewing machine. Thank you JUKI JUNKIES for spending the time to create and upload this valuable information to UA-cam.
Thank you so much! The nearest Juki dealership is 100 miles away. Could you show us how to dismantle and clean the hook area when it gets dirty from double sided sticky tape? Thank you!
Hi Juki Junkies!! 🙂 Thank you for this video as it was very helpful. I am looking for a video on how to change the feet on the Juki 1541s industrial walking foot machine. Was wondering if I overlooked yours or if you could make a video? Thank you all 🙂
I used some large side cutters and was able to cut/pry the plug out of the bottle. This also allowed me to put the plug back in and the cap back on to make sure it doesn't leak.
What is the rubber button in the throat behind the stitch size knob? Is that an oil point? It is not listed in the manual but I have always oiled it anyway.
Gigi, I recently saw a video of someone changing the oil in an 1181. Is this something that should be done with a 1541? I’ve had my machine for about 3 years and have never changed the oil in the reservoir - only oiled the parts. Thanks for the info.

If I'm not mistaken, there is also a lubrication point on the pivot for the take-up lever. Right?
Yes
Great video this may sound crazy but how do you open the big bottle of oil. couldn't pry it off had to poke a hole, i'm sure there is an easy way
You have to poke a hole with a tool . Be very careful.
Maureen thanks so much for asking this!! Sitting here right now, not knowing how to do it either!!!
