This is live at Budokan 2014, reaching this huge goal with only 16 and 14 yo, big international artists performed here like The Beatles among many others, so you get the idea how huge this is.
This song got a tribute to X-Japan, is a power/speed metal ballad, if you want to know legendary Japanese band you should know X-Japan, Yoshiki one of the founder member was the one who suffered serious injury while headbanging during a live concert, that's the tribute in Headbanger!! song live at Legend 1997 is a must.
In this song our queen SuMetal is fighting for a love, see the pinky finger she's rising up, that's our promise of neverending love ❤️
Akatsuki (it pronounce almost with the "u" silent) it means "crimson moon" or "red moon", that's why is a homage to "Kurenai" (crimson) by X-Japan, even the beginning with that shout is a tribute to "X" live version.
This is one out four solo she has on their repertory, same for Black Babymetal subgroup with only YuiMetal and MoaMetal, you can find songs like "Song 4" (with Metallica riffs) at this same venue or "Onedari Daisakusen" live at Legend 1997.
Also you can find Akatsuki Unfinished Version live at Legend 1997 which is a ballad version with only a piano playing behind, similar to the new Monochrome version.
The Kami Band in this Black Night are: Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Takayoshi is the one with the pink guitar (aka pink-chan) and also with the golden guitar, everyone loves Taka.
There's another special version live at Budokan 2021 with a grown up and more mature SuMetal vocals and some winks to another versions.

After seeing them a few timès they are that good live, in my opinion, even better. Being there live the first time how good just shocked me when the lights hit them they dont look real if you know what i mean 😮

Yes, she sounds this good live. But keep in mind that you will never get this sound quality live in person in a concert (with any band in general) since this is professionally mixed for the BD and the live sound depends on many other external factors like the equipment, the venue itself and even the crowd. Yes, they know it well because they had severe audio issues on the first show at Makuhari Messe this year due to the reverberation caused when the venue was full of people.
I hardly ever listen to the studio version and I remember it being "weird"... Su sounds so young (she recorded the studio version when she was 14).
Su has this uncanny ability to just do something incredible during a live performance,live Babymetal is best Babymetal always. 🦊
Great reaction. Yes Su, Moa, Yui (Momoko now of course), the Kami Band, the crowd ... all sound way better live than on the albums.
This is from the DVD so there is some post-production, but Su-metal is almost flawless performing live - so much so that when she does go a bit sharp or if her voice cracks for half a second it is very noticeable and only then do you remember she is at least part human after all.
The stages they have built for their Japanese arena shows are incredible. The Budokan 2014 stage was the first of their more elaborate designs (although Legend 1997 3 months earlier with the statue was noteworthy) ... and they only use these stages for one or two nights (two in this instance).
This to me just shows how much better her vocals are in Japanese rather than English - I love it :D
The stadium was the Olympic Judo Stadium so it was built to have a centre ring and the stands very close surrounding it. The Beatles were the first international band to play there and yes she sounds much better live than on the studio albums. That stage was build just for the two shows and they added safety rails for the second night after Yui fell off

love the music, I am still just not a fan of the vox, it is very different and I appreciate it. Just not for me...lol I keep trying though
