Great reaction, thanks! "Amore" is one of my favorite songs. Sometimes underrated, probably eclipsed by "Akatsuki" (pun intended... yes, again!) 😁 I love everything about it: the power/speed metal, nice guitar lines, crazy drumming, that bass solo by BOH 🤯 And the fact they gave her some bright lyrics, unlike on her other three solo songs where she has to deal with the memories of a lost love, is chased by a dark entity in a recurring nightmare or has her heart filled by an endless rain, forever. 🤘🦊
Happy New Year.🥳 Great reaction, quite possibly my own favourite of Su-metal's solo songs (BOH's bass solo just swings it). As others have said, yes of course Su could be the solo front for any band and it would be one of the best, but that would be the same format as virtually every other band on the planet. Add Moa and Yui, Moa and an Avenger, Moa and Momoko and they bring a whole new dimension to the performances that very few bands can dream of having.
⚡ / 💙 Like in the USA, a lot of people in Japan know the word "Amore" because it was used in popular songs. Su finally got a solo where she wasn't trapped in an eternal nightmare, cherishing a star-crossed love until her body perishes, or having her heart filled by endless rain. After all of that, she really deserved a break. : ) This song is still a little sad, but there's an overall sense of joy, hope and trancendance. Such a beautiful blend of Su's voice and the electric guitars. And of course that bass solo. Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Takayoshi Ohmura were on guitars for this live version. Kami Band guitarist Leda Cygnus played guitar and bass for studio track.
Hell yes! Glad you guys did this song. Absolutely agree with you on Su’s precision in the timing, and accuracy of her vocals starting from absolute silence! To think, THIS is their live debut of Amore as well, nailing it the first time, what amount of practice must have gone into it! Absolutely a banger, and my kind of love song. Gotta have blast beats and shreddy guitars when proclaiming emotions. Lol 🤣🤘🦊
Thanks for this reaction, have a good year. Suzuka/Su-metal can definitely hold her own, she was already able to deliver that probably even before Babymetal (all the way back at Actors School Hiroshima when she was an early teen or maybe even before that), but especially since she turned 15 in Babymetal we could see that. She is an amazing performer. But as rrahl made clear, the others have duel-purpose.
5:19 Reaction start Nice to see you're back with more BM songs and another SuMetal solo. You got it right with the pronunciation, it can be tricky since is an Italian word that is similar to Spanish word "amor", which means the same.❤️ This was a live premiere at Wembley Arena 2016 along with GJ! and Meta Taro. I love every SuMetal solo, this one is a beautiful power/speed metal ballad like Akatsuki from 1st album, some fans believe is tied to that song, and it makes sense if you pay attention to the lyrics at the end, it was a live premiere for lucky UK fans. Amore means "love" in Italian. Our queen finally reach some love after all. This song got another sub-title in Japanese "Ao boshi" which means blue star, hence the relationship with Akatsuki (red/crimson moon). You can also see the wings which is a reference to old BM official logo but also comes from SuMetal previous group "Karen Girl's". The old BM logo got the skull for YuiMetal and the heart for MoaMetal, another reference from Sakura Gakuin previous main group; the new logo doesn't have the skull and the heart anymore, also there's only three feather in the wings. Of course BOH doing some magic with his finger and that bass solo, insane.🔥 The rest of the Kami Band here are pretty much the usual members such Hideki Aoyama on drums, Takayoshi Ohmura and Mikio Fujioka (R.I.P.) on guitars. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time, 🦊🤘🔥
ua-cam.com/video/lcdm3br1bd0/v-deo.htmlsi=qVSJ8RiSfu2UunLh If you enjoy Su as a front woman then you'll like this. It's Su and the Kamis featuring Chad Smith on drums covering a couple of Judas Priest songs. Watch to the end for Su's birthday surprise 🦊🤘
I point to this performance as proof that if Su was by herself and this was the band, as a five piece they would rock the scene, even the mainstream scene.
Keep in mind the Su solos (and the old Black Babymetal Yui and Moa songs) logistically served as a way to give them alternating breathers during shows when they were all literally kids.
I feel that Su singing alone is intended to give the other two a break. I feel that Su's wish is for the three of us to continue doing BABYMETAL together.
Good job! Glad you guys enjoyed this. The BRR channel used to have all of their videos in pairs. One directly available with the video overlay and a link to one without for you to react to. Then overlay the safe for UA-cam video in post-production.
Fun as always, love watching you two react and talk about BM songs. Regarding the idea of Su-metal solo vs the whole team; the two accompanying singers are "scream and dance" and serve the purpose of leading the audience to engage, Su-metal takes on the role of lead (obviously) and also glares at the audience at appropriate times so they know to follow along with scream and dance. The thing they all want, every concert no matter the size or venue, is to have the audience involved as well. Her solo songs don't have the call-response, they are like interludes for the audience to just relax and enjoy before they are required to continue following scream and dance. That's my take on it at least. You mentioned maybe doing a series if a concept was good enough, what would you think of taking on a few iconic concerts and breaking them up to cover them start to finish? Not just the music, but the stage, show, setlist choices, and anything else you can think of from a performance perspective?
Again. great reaction! I agree if it came down to going solo, Suzuka has all it takes to do so, though for now the trio has its magnificent aura and standing. Regarding Su... from the following clip of her performing at a shopping mall at 11, you can tell she "had it" from a young age. The way she talks to the audience (from 3:45 - and you do not need to understand Japanese... you can tell she has crowd control) and how she takes up position to perform with a group (4:25) is just "professionally natural" , and you do not need to be a pro to see that she is a standout in the group. This performance was a year before she started her journey as BABYMETAL. => ua-cam.com/video/APweUO1vEEY/v-deo.html
If anyone needs a workout track... Try running to the beat the drums from Amore.... Might break a few world records....As for Su going solo, she most certainly could, but without the choreo and crowd hyping from Moa and Momo (or Yui back in the day), you lose what sets Babymetal apart from every other band out there. Koba didn't miss when he said that adding choreo is what's going to make BM standout.... Su's got great vocals, but so does a lot of metal bands, which have great and unique vocals.... But its the whole package that makes Babymetal... And I wouldn't want it any other way 🤘🦊🤘😁😁😁
For me, Su singing is epic. Kami band playing is epic. Song writing is epic. These 3 alone make an awesome performance. Now for other BABYMETAL songs, including both Scream and Dance performers who are epic... adding Moa and Yui/Momoko adds to the awesome performance, making BABYMETAL above top tier. Yes, Su could have a solo career and be great, but put all of what BABYMETAL is together makes the whole better than the individual parts. 🤘🦊🤘
That was my comment you were reading about Mikio Fujioka from last year. On January 5th it will be 6 years since he passed. Takayoshi does something for him every year. This song has not been performed since 2017.
When they did longer shows Su would do solos to give the girls a break and the girls would perform without Su to give her a break. Moa has done a couple of solos with her solo of Love Machine being the most notable
Here's a suggestion for a Babymetal series,Black Babymetal. This features Yui and Moa as a duo singing lead, the 4 songs are Sis Anger, Onedari Daisakusen,GJ! and 4 No Uta . You've done GJ! but with Moa singing solo after Yui had left the group. Speaking of Moa there's a version of Headbanger called Moabanger where Su hands over the mic to her so she can sing lead on Moa's 20th birthday. The fans are hoping for a Momobanger in March when they celebrate Momometals birthday with the Legend MM concerts 🦊🤘
Very cool!!! At this time of the band, still with Su, Yui and Moa, the shows featured 2 songs with Su solo and 2 songs without Su, only with Yui and Moa on stage (Black Babymetal). With Momo completing the trio, there is an expectation from fans that this format could happen again at some point. Even in solo songs, Su performs a specific choreography for each song. Enjoy Babymetal!!!🤘🦊🤘
Great reaction. Glad to see you back to BABYMETAL. May I suggest the song The One for your next reaction. Best description I can give you is that it's anthemic metal which would make sense as it was a song that was written for the fans, who altogether are called 'The One', thus the song title. There are two versions of this song, unfinished and finished, and another two "sub-versions" for the finished version, Japanese and English, but there is a live compilation video from KuroKiitsuneSama that features every version that I will link in this comment for you to react to: ua-cam.com/video/INvxcgu3kP0/v-deo.html
There is no question that Su could have a very successful solo career, she has a tremendous vocal range and has the personal charisma to carry it off. But it would be a radical departure given the length of time she has been in this genre and the worldwide fame the group has engendered and I don't know if the metal fans could follow over to a different genre. I would be interesting to se what would happen. I don't think you can classify Moa as strictly scream/dance, she's at a different level from Momoko given her long association and friendship with Su, going back to when Su was 13 and Moa was 11. Moa also has an undeniable effect of the crowds with her sheer cuteness and personality. It would be a tough situation all around.
9:15 you're just showing that you have no clue about Babymetal at all .. this song is there so Moa and and Momo can prepare behind the stage for their next performance (which will be "Sis Anger") .. after this song Su will go behind the stage to prepare for the rest of the show .. and after "Sis Anger" they will all push it to the limit for the rest of the show!
If it ended up just being Su and the Kami band, I think Babymetal would eventually die off. Su would go on to do a solo project or something else along those lines. Multiple interviews clearly show how important the other girls are to Su. Without Moa and Momoko, Babymetal's live performances would be mediocre compared to what they currently are. This is just my personal opinion and who knows. I may be wrong.
Thx for reaction & happy new year. But... I have no idea why so many people think this version of Amore is the best. I don't like this version at all. I would put this in last place. After Fox Festival and Tokyo Dome. Bad sound. The reverb overwhelms the guitar... it sounds terrible. (and the instrumental part is not perfectly played, unlike, for example, the Fox Festival). In this performance and with this sound, Amore sounds awfully poppy. Are these stupid screens with wings really more important to people? Only good in this video version is many Kami-Band moments. Its really good. But if u want best-played version - its Fox Festival . Maybe not best visuals. But best sound and best played.
Nice to see you back, and it's good that you found the BM Reactor Ressource channel. It usually has a link to a video without the logo in the video description, so you can watch it without the logo and then put the version with the logo in the video you are realizing. I've seen all their shows at least 5 times by now. Btw Amuse was wayyyyyy more strict in the past and pretty much blocked any reaction video to Babymetal (I know, it seems stupid lol). Still, they seem to give reactors more leeway and not take everything down these days (which is much appreciated, tho). I am still regretting having missed out on the Wembley show in 2016, tbh, but hopefully, Legend MM will make up for it =) Amore is a great song, and Boh smashing his solo as usual is just amazing. And Su with the wings is just phenomenal. The drumming of Hideki is also on another level throughout the song. he is such a machine =)
Great reaction, thanks!
"Amore" is one of my favorite songs. Sometimes underrated, probably eclipsed by "Akatsuki" (pun intended... yes, again!) 😁

Original BABYMETAL Logo is :
Su-Metal = Wings
YuiMetal = Kawaii Tiny Skull
MoaMetal = Heart Shape on letter B
Hahaha, it all makes sense now, always thought that skull looked like a tomato 🤣.

As a Japanese person, I was surprised to see a Japanese high school girls perform at Wembley Arena. Japanese musicians don't often perform overseas.🦊
最初の4 5分 いらなくないか? トークがつまんない。
One of my favorite song and clearly underrated
SU-METAL has wings that are usually hidden.
Her wings this time look very black-metalish, like a bush in the winter.

Las canciones en las que Su-metal está solita liberan un tipo de sensaciones enlazadas con la nostalgia.
