I love how the girls put 110% effort into the choreography it must be exhausting keeping that up for over an hour. They are incredibly fun to watch. More fun than any other metal band around at the moment for me. I loved your reaction to this one.
Great reaction as always. I must have heard every Babymetal song at least a hundred times since last summer but it seems to never get boring. I've pretty much given up trying to find an explanation for my obsession.
Jeff, admit it (as I have, and I'm in my late 60s): it's like the full-on infatuation you felt in your younger years when you met someone amazing - chills, palpitations, goosebumps - and you just want more and more and again and again and again. Doesn't matter what you call it, you're just blown away by how good everything about it is.
I tumbled down the foxhole in April and I've had nothing else playing in my car since. Every album and live performance I've gotten my hands on is on full repeat.
David Witmer san AKATSUKI is at Dawn or Daybreak or Cockcrow and Red Crimson Moon. I also like Pair "Aoboshi - Amore", Aoboshi is Blue Star . BTW, In Manga, Game, Anime, 蒼星石 Soseiseki is one character of Rozen Maiden.
It always amazes me how much that simple riff at the start of the song and the girls just jumping around screaming „Hai, hai...“ gets my blood flowing. Regarding the audience, the Japanese Babymetal fans are the gold standard for us Western fans. We strive to someday be an equally good crowd for our loved girls to rely on and feel home.
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🏃♀️👹 I was a little bummed when they didn't include this song last year at the Palladium. Fortunately it was part of the set a few days later when they opened for Korn / Stone Sour in Chula Vista.
Catch Me If You Can = Hide and Seek = Death Metal + Power Metal + Cute Metal = Fun Metal = BABYMETAL. It is a memorable live where BABYMETAL performed for the first time in "Live performance (God band)". The reaction that you smiled unexpectedly is very good. There is a request. Next is a full-fledged metal song. That is "syncopation".
I love this song, and it always makes me smile when I see it live. The fact you have metalheads moshing away to a song about Hide and Seek, OK all be it with a deamon, but it's still a song about playing hide and seek, that alone makes me smile.
Really enjoy you reactions. Would love to see your take on their song YAVA. Would also love to see someone react to No Rain No Rainbow, a power ballad that takes me back to my young adult years of the 1980's. Keep up the outstanding commentary your doing great.
at 6:24 "I like this" Yes that is correct 🎊 I think Suzuka is like a powerful spear, and YuiMoa are like a cute "WT*?" hooks. YuiMoa make cute effect by dancing and unison.
In the current BABYMETAL and the old BABYMETAL, the direction of music and the approach changed completely. I absolutely think that BABYMETAL of this time is a true BABYMETAL.
As a former professional Drum and Bass DJ, yes you heard correctly. The loop you heard was what we refer to as an "Amen Loop". It's in a few of their songs, but very noticeable here. A rather large portion of DnB DJs have strong roots in old school Punk and Metal, I would've most definitely played this for some of my shows if they were around back then.
Thanks for the thought. I can understand what you mean. This song is about hide and seek. And I think people don't like babymetal since to them metal has to be angry and this and all their songs can be considered metal that is fun.
In one of your previous Babymetal videos, you asked for a lesser known track from the group. I understand that this was one of the first singles from them. It's a cover of a song from Kiba of Akiba. And oh, check out the bass riff at the end. Live version: www.dailymotion.com/video/x5tf51h

+Os 75 As a musician you do realize a singer's voice is as much an instrument as keyboards, guitars, drums and so on right? I understand your focus on the Kami band and opinion on Sumetal's voice. For me her clarity of voice in a Heavy Metal category is something I was bloody baffled with since my first listen. Her voice is best suited for musicals instead of Heavy Metal, but like Babymetal it fits and perfectly. So wrong was I! Cheers!

its unique and different, and sue-metal voice is so on point you just cant fault it in any way.

This song blew me away. Probably my favourite live song I've heard so far. It rocked real hard.
" Akatsuki " will most definitely impress from every aspect.
and it's a cool sounding word too
David Witmer yes ..this is an Epic Song.

Best song about Hide and Seek ever! Crazy heavy and crazy adorable at the same time!

nice. This song has my favorite dance routine
Kawaii Metal at it's finest. Yes it's a fusion, however it's their own creation.

Yes! Exactly. It's wonderful!
Next one "Sis. Anger" or I'll riot =D
or I'll destroy your house
Only BabyMetal could pull off mixing metal with a song about playing hide 'n seek with a demon. It just freakin' works.
Oni-san Kochira!
Oni is Japanese for ogre or monster.
That’s cool. Demon is English for ogre or monster. They’re all so devilish. But it is a way to show that kids are kids, but metal kids are badass!
That's always the case in kakurenbo, because the tagger is traditionally called the oni. It gives a great motivation to run away from them. :D

this song is so much fun!
Wow wow... Guru guru(round and round) Kakurenbo(hide-and-seek) |・_・)
I'm getting psyched up.. I will be at their concert may 13th.. And I wont be sitting.

If you haven't seen the Headbanger vid from this same Mukahari show, that'd be the one for that song.

Don't know if anyone has recommended it before, but please check out Bridear - Light in the Dark
No need to apologize dude. It's okay to not like a song or find an aspect of a performance that doesn't work for you. Everyone has different tastes.
I was going to say the exact same thing.
So you have actually heard alot of their good and great songs. But they have a few Epic songs. You will really enjoy.
Maybe the requestor wanted "CMIYC" with "Kami Band Solo" in the intro?
lovebites - shadowmaker
hardest hide and seek ever
Headbanger!!!!
Would you have ever thought you would rock out on a song about hide-and-go-seek?
WOAH WOAH WOAH KURU KURU KAKURENBO
this song is way too catchy for it's own good, and the drums kick ass as well.
