Lisa, I have collected over 100 scarves throughout the years. I saved this video a few years ago. I did something similar and I am loving it. I will start making some soon for X-mas gifts. Thank you for this beautiful pattern.
Thank you so much for this hat scarf tutorial. I love it. You are easy to follow and the hat when done is gorgeous 😍 I made one for my sweet sister in Christ who has cancer. She just has a mastectomy done last week and she told me the scarf is long enough to cover the missing breast and she loves that. I am just now finishing making another hat scarf and thinking about putting a scarf in it and wearing it myself. Thank you so kindly for sharing this tutorial ❤
Thank you Lisa, I found your channel while looking for chemo hats. My friend was diagnosed with brain cancer, so I'm making her chemo hats. Very lovely hat Lisa! I'm subscribed to your channel now and thank you for this tutorial. You were very easy to follow along with. 💜🙏🧶
Very clear video tutorial! I wish you had more hat tutorials as I love making them! Thank-you so much for doing this one, the hat turned out lovely. 👍💛👍
Hi I am undergoing chemotherapy at the moment and losing hair comes with it. I love this hat and would love to crochet it for me as a summer hat. Can you please advise me on what kind of yarn to buy and if I need to make amendments. I am new to crochet and don’t know much about yarns. I wear a beanie at the moment when I leave home, but summer is round the corner and need some nice ones to wear. Thanks and sorry to trouble you. Also if you have any nice patterns for summer
Hi: I want to make your lovely pattern for my sister-in-law who lives in the Caribbean (Dominican Republic). The weather is too hot for acrylic and similar tarns. Would you recommend a cotton thread, and if so, which? Thank you.
Caron Cotton Cakes is a soft blend that works well in warmer climates & it has some give to it. All cotton isn't soft enough. 100% cotton doesn't have any give or stretch to it. That's why Cotton Cakes blend is great!
I am just starting this hat for a friend that will be starting chemo soon. I am a slow crochetter, so I want a scarf to start shipping before I compete the hat. What size scarf works best?
The ones I use I order online from Dharma Trading and dye myself. I have a scarf dyeing video on this channel. The ones I use are 8"x72". I just added a link in the description on where to order them.
The written instructions tell me to join each round with a slip stitch but you are not doing that in the video. Am I doing it wrong by doing a slip stitch in each round? The instructions don’t say to do a chain stitch after each slip stitch. I’m a bit confused.
At 6:20 in the video I explained how I crochet in a spiral instead of joining. The original pattern called to join every round so you can choose to do it however you're comfortable. I apologize for the confusion.

This is adorable....can I use super wash Merino????
I'm sure you could. Some people are allergic to wool & I live in the south so I don't use it.
I'm using Heartland. Calls for a J hook. I know you went down to a H. Should I do the same?
It all depends on how loose or tight you crochet. That's something you will have to use trial and error to determine.

How can I do this in a 1 weight please let me know! Thank you 😊
I don't know as I don't use yarn that small.
Can you use a cotton fabric to decorate with ?
A cotton scarf? I'm sure you probably could.
I wish you showed the scarf that you used to see the dize.
Size is listed in the description.
Do you have the written pattern for this hat?
It's in the description.
I used an H hook and when I made the loop round it was only 1.25 inches tall. Should I use bigger hook or make the loops taller?
I'm not sure. If you want bigger loops, then you could probably try either.
