How To Crochet A Chemo Hat /Beginner Friendly Tutorial
You did a beautiful chemo hat ! And you make it look so easy. Good teaching. 🍎
May I also suggest some yarns in the USA that are soft also .... Mary Maxim "Oh so soft", Lion Brand. "Feels like Butta ", & a cotton yarn called , I Love That Cotton ( from Hobby Lobby, also on line. ) My blessings and prayers to those with cancer. 💝🌹
Thank you very much for the yarn suggestions 😍😍And glad you like the hat ❤
Also, new yarn from Lion Brand: Truboo 100% bamboo
#3 weight yarn
@@IDontSuckAtLifeakaJanis3975 I actually just posted about TruBoo bc I didn't see your reply here. I agree this is a great yarn!
For those who have access to buy Lion Brand yarns, they have a newer line called TruBoo which is a finer yarn (approx. 3-4 weight) made of 100% bamboo that is SO soft and comfortable. They also have their CoBoo line which is a cotton/bamboo mixed yarn (same weight) which is also very soft. Both are easy maintenance for washing/drying, as well. I've made headware from this yarn using a 3.5 - 4 mm hook (US).
I love this pattern and I love your channel! Thank you so much for what you do, Sirin!
Someone just asked for a chemo hat recommendation on a FB group I'm in. I instantly thought of Sirin's design and shared the link. I also tried to say a little bit about yarn...tried to..I hope they read your comment when they click over because I didn't mention the names of the bamboo yarns etc. I also mentioned cotton and you've provided the name of the cotton bamboo yarn too.
I don't know how it is everywhere else but where I am it is suggested you only use those materials (I've said this in another comment, don't mean to repeat myself too much)
Very special you create this for so many women who will need this for having to deal with the effects of chemo and cancertreatment. YOU are special! Thank you so much.
And the design is also beautiful and modern. So nice the yarn is soft and it takes into account the light-issues some have with the effects of chemo and radiation-therapy. Your design will make them happy!! 💖
Thank you Lisette.
I'm glad to hear that I succeeded. :) They are special ♥ Have a beautiful day.
Thank you for this beautiful pattern! My mom's fighting cancer and really needs a warm cap. It's her birthday tomorrow so perfect timing! I know she will love this!
This is why I love your tutorials, some of this patterns are so intimidating but your tutorial is so explicit that makes me feel I can make anything. I will definitely give this a go. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you like it ♥ You can make it, just try it :)
I want to thank you I have been looking for a hat to make for myself before I start my treatment and this is perfect thank you again.
You're welcome Rose. ❤I wish you a quick recovery and a healthy life 🙏
I really hope you’ve either beat cancer or are kicking its butt! ❤️
I absolutely love the hat ❤ Can't wait to make it. I've been wanting a hat with soft yarn to wear. I have cancer and with so much chemo treatments, you either lose your hair or your hair gets thin. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful design ❤🤗
This is a very lovely hat for someone going through perhaps the most difficult time in their life. I have a dear friend just starting her cancer journey...has lost about 1/2 her hair in 2 weeks, and the rest should be gone soon. At the beginning of winter I made her 2 hats with a baby alpaca acrylic blend yarn...very soft, but will be too warm soon. I have ordered a special cotton yarn and I am definitely going to make her one of these. The yarn colors are a nice fern green and a morning glory blue...so this pattern is perfect for the colors. I have purchased little cat face buttons for the brim. Thanks so much for the tip about the brim...I had no idea. I'm sure she's going to love these hats, and thank you for the fabulous instructional video. Blessings to you. 🤗
I wish a fast recovery for your friend. I’m sure she is a fighter 🤜💥 You are a good friend by the way. Thanks for helping her to get through all this.. I love the idea of cat face buttons 😍 Definitely will look good on this hat 💕🥰
Absolutely gorgeous! What a lovely gesture on your part Sirin . Your kindness will touch the whole world. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful hat.
Thank you Connie. ♥ Glad you like it. Have a lovely day.
Beautiful hat and for a great purpose. I just finished this one it took me 3 days to make it and finished it, I made it with 2 colors black and green with a ticker #4 yarn . So it look completely different all thought I enjoy doing it you are the greatest teacher of crochet I have now happy 14 of February san Valentine day in USA
I used a 4 weight yarn and an 4mm hook, starting chain 84. Came out beautifully with Lion Brand Ferris Wheel yarn. It's a roving style acrylic with a ombre variegated look. So cute! Also did my own variation with this after doing a row of single crochet at the brim, I did 4 more rows of herringbone single crochet to finish without doing the cap flap. In effect with the ombre of teal and purple my cap looks mermaid themed. I'm working on another one for me now.
I made this hat, and it turned out beautifully....thank you for the pattern. I used a cotton/yak blend and the leaves really popped out. I think it's the springyness of the yak fiber that did that...anyway...looks fabulous. 🤗
You are just so clever ...thank you so much for sharing your talent, skill, patience, time...you for sharing you .🥰
Finished this today! It's cuter than I even could have expected. Everyone I've shown it to has been amazed at the pattern, but you made it so easy! This is the third or fourth of your patterns I've done, and so far, they are all so accessible! Thank you! Oh btw I made it with 100% wool (I live in a cold climate), size 4 yarn, size 5 hook. Turned out great!
Thank you for the tutorial. Your work stands above and is so appreciated.

My aunt just got diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. I was looking for a beautiful hat to make her and this one is beautiful! Is there a place where this is written down? I can’t find it. Thank you so very much. I think I would love to donate to the center she is going to it is such a hard thing to go through.
Could this be made in a bucket hat? Love this pattern! thank you.
Hi. Please share your beautiful bag patterns
Your web site is beautiful. Is there a flipped left handed-video of this available? I can follow right-handed tutorials but left-handed is preferable. I visit a long term care facility daily so I'm thinking of donating a couple of these.
Hello. You mentioned cotton yarn. Will cotton stretch?
Hi Sirin…does this hat require only the one skein? I’ve almost finished this hat & I had to use 2 skeins of another yarn. I’m planning to make this hat again in another color and want to make sure I have enough. Thank You!!!!
😍😍😍
I like this hat. Could this also be worn by others besides Chemo patients? Or is there a regular hat to crochet using this same pattern? I also live your cat.
I absolutely love the looks of the chemo hat. Is there by any chance a written pattern? I want to make several to donate 2 cancer patients.
I don't have a written pattern yet but If I have I will let you know ❤Thanks
