If personal cars increase, it creates:
1. Higher pollution.
2. Higher fuel import bill.
3. Higher traffic.
4. More wasted time and fuel due to traffic.

The Toyota hilux a.k.a the pick-up truck version of the Toyota fortuner . It's a great truck for foreign countries but in India it's not because it's so humongous in size that Indian roads can't afford.This truck was used in various wars that this truck has a bullet reliability ,solid durability and marvelistic quality.
Indian roads don't have the proper infrastructure for normal Family cars forget pickup trucks. These trucks look good on massive American Roads for their suburban life.

19:15 It's hard to decide. The logical thing is if you want a pickup truck, and you don't have huge money you'll settle for a lesser priced ones. If you have the budget of this much, you'll probably go for this because it lasts very looooong. On the other hand if you're just looking for a car not a huge truck maybe go for Fortuner's lower variants or maybe some other car which suits your needs. Pickup truck is probably useful in rural than cities, that's why it's weird for you. But for people who want luggage carrier for their factories or farms a very useful thing is a truck. But at so premium they'll go for tata ace or bolero pickup. Only people who have lot of money and can afford to buy this Huuuuuuuuge vehicle. So to sum it up, don't buy this if it's not useful for you, you'll just waste your money. Buy a CAR which suits your needs. Test drive it twice thrice if you need to. Finally buy it since you'll keep for for atleast 10 years.
IG Toyota didn't bring it as a work truck. It's for enthusiasts who wanna overland. So just leave it in it's own place.

I believe the reason why Toyota brought the Hilux to India is simply because they’re trying to compete with other existing pickup trucks sold there like Isuzu, Mahindra, and TATA but at the same time since it was imported from Thailand it’s obviously gonna cost a lot more to sell it in India than other countries with some modifications included which is why its expensive for what it is.
I feel like Toyota should’ve offered a base cargo version of the Hilux (including a single cab variant). Sure, it’s still gonna cost a lot for its importation, but at least it has a manual transmission and costs a lot less than the higher end Hilux. It'll also help people who are using it for private and commercial utility purposes, and only then could the Hilux have a chance to boost its sales.
Why do you expect a pick up truck to give comfort like a car. When you load heavy cargo at the back, you would need those type suspension.

In south africa the hilux is the best selling pickup, second is the Ford ranger, in south africa, if you own one of these in the high trim levels, you've made it in life. The toyota Hilux and Ford ranger are status symbols here.

It is called a bedliner!!! It is not International, it is Innovative in the IMV platform. The Innova's ride is horrible? The standard model has only a manual. It is the High variant that has both manual and automatic. 🤦🏻♂️ It is classified as commercial vehicle not because it is BIG.🤦🏻♂️ It is because Toyota declared the proper load carrying capacity instead of lying and declaring it can carry only below 200kg. If they had lied it can carry only 200kg in the loadbay, then they could sell it everywhere on white plates.

Practical, there is no demand for pick up trucks in India. Though being a Toyota sales gonna be low.
Isuzu also offered d max v cross which miserable failed in India due to low sales.
Next 15yrs also Indians not gonna buy any pick up trucks.
More than pick up people prefer SUV at this price people gonna prefer the legendary fortuner over any SUV in India under 55L.
loved the pickup concept of this semi truck.. but price is way too much for us Indians.

Everything is great but the only thing is Why the back rest angle of rear seat is upright?? which is a very basic basic need for long rides, even the rear ones deserve the comfortable ride in a half crore vehicle. (This applies to DMAX as well ) Or may be they are jus selling out dated models to us.

Utilitarian and leaf springs at the back. Talk about rough and tough to take on the jungle trails and obstacles, river crossing, etc., a Tata Yodha with white plate and a payload capacity of over 2 tons will serve that purpose easily😂.
