I have seen the demo in person many times. It's impressive to the point I actually hold my breath during some of the maneuvers, it's THAT cool. I got to meet Beo at one of the shows and she is such a joy to talk to. As a "girl dad" seeing her talking to young children and engaging with them was heartwarming. She's a class act and a great representative of our fighting men and women.
The airframe, beyond impressive. Still not in my personal top 5 favorites, but I's give my right arm to fly it. Being 61, I have seen a lot of airshows in my days. Blue Angles in F4's should tell you I have seen my share. I'm looking forward to seeing the F35 again this summer and CCAS at KMHR.

@@PrograError I believe I watched some documentary about that, and they did do some kind of combat simulator with the HUD on. But from what I remember, the problems are 1. Weight, it's just heavy to have a 2+ kg helmet on your head all day, along with batteries etc, 2. Battery. Can't always charge your batteries in a warzone, and those helmets sure use a lot of power. 3. Not *that* useful. Most of the information that the HUD displays for infantry is stuff that could easily just be displayed on a phone or something similar (which I do think they, or some infantry, have already), like the location of friendly infantry or armour, potential hostiles, points of interest etc.

The pilot makes flying look easy, I’ve seen this jet in person as well. It’s better to leave the head phones off :), unless you’re on a flight deck with an f35 b or c, the Pratt and Whitney engine is gloriously loud. The beauty of the jet is hard to display at an air show like it’s stealth, situational awareness, data sharing, and everything else that makes it a real potent aircraft.

So, the Air Force can talk to the Navy, and the Marines. In other words, we have so many F - 35's in the air, it will be like trying to swat flies.
