Viper has always been a good player, but he needed a team that lived up to his needs. Griffin came close to that but with the organization problems and with the "meh" top laner (sword), they would never be able to deliver the necessary tools that Viper needed to win a title. Now at lpl he has a lot more possibilities for evolution and, of course, crave even bigger trophies.

He was definitely very good but he wasn't insane like he is now. Like I wouldn't say he was a top 3 LCK adc on GRF. In 2019 it probably went Deft > Teddy > Ruler > Viper.

Viper wasn't average, he was already top 5 ADC World and the best "non ADC" bot player.
At 2019 worlds the best non adc bot player was actually perkz but well its been a long time maybe I remembered wrong
