Liberty Jail and The New Jerusalem Missouri Temple Lot | LDS Church History

- I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It had always been a dream of mine to visit some of the historic sites relevant to the history of our Church. This adventure was very near and dear to my heart! It was a dream come true to visit these sacred places.
First on the LDS Church site tour was Liberty Jail, where the Prophet Joseph Smith and companions were held in dire conditions for what is believed to be roughly 4-6 months, meanwhile members of the church were having to flee the area due to an extermination order made against them by the Governor of Missouri.
Next was a visit to the Missouri Temple Lot, an important plot of land where it is believed a sacred Temple will be built prior to the Lord's second coming. There are a handful of other "breakaway" churches who also own land surrounding this sacred spot, as all share the believe that a Temple must be built there. However, the church that currently owns the plot of land in question, is near bankrupt and is unable to build upon it. Our hope is that eventually they will sell the land to our Church, and the work can finally begin.
In the next video, we visit the homes were Joseph grew up, and the "Sacred Grove" where he had "The First Vision".

I am excited to visit different church history sites next year for the first time. Will have to keep my emotions in check hopefully.

Oh, that’s so cool! Yes, it is beautiful there! I didn’t appreciate it when I was young, but as an adult now I realize how special that place is 🙂
In all reality I grew up in the LDS Church but haven't gone since I was 12. Kinda boring but now when I look at it if I was to be a part of any of them it Would the Church of Christ Temple Lot. It seems the most humble and more about salvation then Duty which David Whitmer said the Original Church was more like that but then Joe started getting all strange with the many wives thing !!

THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN BY MAN. IT SAYS, JOLY MEN OF GOD, WROTE AS THEY WERE INSPIRED. OF GOD. PLUS NO SCRIPTURE IS OF PRIVATE INTERPRETATION.ITS AMAZING HOW GOD WHO UNDERSTANDS TIME AND B TIMING. ALWAYS GIVES US ENOUGH OF IT. TO UNDERSTAND AT LEAST IN PART. GOD DISCLOSES HIMSELF N OVER TIME AND INTEREST TO KNOW IS ONE OF THE GREATEST EDUCATORS.THATS FOR A GREAT VIDEO. KEEP IT UP. Proof that most don't have it figured out. I suggest you look at Ron Wyatt. He found the Arch and the Temple is you. You are the temple of God.

I went on an Historical LDS New England tour several yrs ago. It was just amazing. Believe it or not, my favorite place was the Hill Cumorah. For a few minutes, I separated myself from the group and went down a small side hill, reflecting on how this was the site of tens of thousands of death in the great battle. It wasn’t all that death that I focused on but rather the fact that these people really lived (& died) in this
very place and that the plates were saved to the Lord and then recovered by Joseph there. And that we are blessed accordingly to know about their lives. So much significant history! It was all so amazing and wonderful and humbling. It’s hard not to feel the Spirit when you see these places in person. I’m eternally grateful for the Holy Ghost who has manifest the truth to my heart. 🙏🏻
