Thank you Susan! I love the two mediums together. I would love to see more of your watercolor (maybe some negative painting) since you did ask:) Have a blessed day
Watercolor is my best medium, I found it to be fast and easy as I learn. Love you r special touches with pastels. Thank you Susan for you instructions ❤
I love working in watercolor and pastels but I have never used them together. What inspiration you provide! I have used pastel with alcohol applied as my under painting. I will definitely try your technique. Thank you!
Thank you very much again for this great Video.I really Loved it. And I definitely would Like to see more of These two Mediums together! I Wish you a wonderful day!!
@@monetcafe FYI... I was told by my children that I was going to have something very special in my stocking this Christmas. LOL... As always, I must wait and see. (( I do remember saying that I would love to have Susan's new book.)) 😜
Love your page!! I actually really struggle with the medium so your videos are the perfect motivation ❤ one thing I struggle with is that the colours feel really chalky and thin on the page. And tend to look quite muddy too- do you think that’s my technique or the quality of the pastels?
Thank you so much! And it’s very possible that you might be applying too much pressure early on. I definitely did that when I was first painting with pastels. You really need to give light applications as you paint and let the pastels layer themselves. The painting comes out much more fresh and colorful that way without muddied colors. Perhaps try a lighter touch.
I will totally be trying this! Thank you! Also, it's proven to be more successful to ask people to like, subscribe etc at the end of the video. People who are already subbed know the drill and newcomers don't like being asked to do something for you before they have even seen you face, personality or the actual video itself. Once you've showed them how awsome you are, pop a cheeky 'like and sub' in at the end. It can remind people to do so and the newcomers now know that you provide good content. I say this because I want more people to know about you and you can increase ingagement upto 40/50% just with this little tip. And look, I'm subbed, liked the video and here I am commenting! Boom! Susan Jenkins for the win!!
Thanks so much. And I appreciate that feedback. I usually have the "like" request more in the middle of the video, but I saw other artists asking up front so I thought I'd give it a try. That was my gut, but you just helped me to go back to my other method.

I’m an abstract artist. I’m working with pan pastels, ink and anything I can find.
