Oh God I miss that girl. Saw them three times in the States and they absolutely destroyed the audience. With the sole exception of Shirley Manson there's never been as captivating and completely unpredictable a woman up front as Christine. I'm a pretty cynical old rocker but I'll tell ya... I cried a river of tears when she passed.

To reply to the disappeared comment.. I have trouble thinking the performer of the US festival clip, the boys in town clip the elsie clip, the pleasure and pain clip and the I touch myself clip is the same person. My God,how was she not as famous as Madonna? She is just mesmerizing, stunning.

Aside from being a remarkable guitarist, he has an innovative and unique approach to composition that clearly sets him apart from the others. As a team Chrissy and Mark created something extra special that many of us can appreciate in a very big way while others just don't get it. As Chrissy remarked in her autobiography...it's not everyone's cup of tea.

For something extra special, listen really carefully to Good Die Young. Ignore the lead guitar and solos and you'll find Mark's magnificent harmonising rhythm sections hidden in the mix. Would be wonderful if the song was remastered to have both guitar tracks at the same level. I don't think the 80s was ready for that.

His trebly but crunchy style really had a punch. Not unlike Malcolm Young, Mick Cocks, a few of the other Oz rhythm players, in the way he attacked the strings. Creative writing style as well, great use of chorus effect. Very sad that outside of Australia Mr. McEntee isn't well known. The records all speak for themselves, though. Excellent body of work.

Warren552011 She talks about Geelong being ''ferociously working-class'' and likely feeling pride in that distinction so it would have taken a bit of courage to go against the grain. Her time spent with elocution training would serve her well years later when tackling projects like ''Blood Brothers'' and ''The Boy from Oz''.

Yeah, her mother was always quite supportive and doting and seemed to encourage that independent spirit...except for the news reader marriage obsession. Chrissy acknowledged that she was quite a handful and may have played a big role in bringing out her dad's bad side. I remember causing my folks a few moments of unpleasantness on occasion. Anyway, he was over the rainbow when he saw his little girl have his idea of real success in ''The Boy from Oz''. Hope you're coping well down there. It's a combination punch for you guys....fire and then plague. Take care my friend

Kudos to the presenters for doing a great job on this fascinating interview at an interesting point in this band's evolution. It is quite refreshing to hear Chrissy's true feelings about ''Hey Little Boy''. No wonder Mark liked it ....it's a showcase for the guitarist but a weak offering as a single. ''Temperamental'' was packed with some great original music! Would love to hear the material that was discarded from ''What a Life''.

    • @johnking6550

Warren552011...I love the live version on the Hoey Moey tapes and there are a few decent frames where you see Chrissy with a sweet smile..living her dream. Danm! She was a doll without even trying! The Twilights were a very good band sounding a bit like the Association and even LRB...of course, Glen Shorrock was a leading force in both Aussie bands. There is an interesting clip of the Twilights from 1968 of ''9.50'' that looks like they were headed for bigger things....a TV show maybe(like the Monkeys)...but never got traction. It's a hoot..you might want to catch it...a little topical humour at the end. Comments (I've become a comment junkie) are interesting as how this tune relates to ''Friday on My Mind''...always loved the Easy Beats. Noticed you helpfully tipped our friend the right way. Started to do it myself a few days back but I thought...No..I'll let the pro do it. Mate..you have a flair and attention to detail that I'll never be able to match! Tee hee...Plus, been checking out some of Chrissy's favorites...The Loved Ones...Coloured Balls...Skyhooks...some great music and perhaps stylistic influence. I realize that her studying Bon Scott and Angus Young was a major turning point, but her vocal toolbox was filled with so many intriguing subtle elements that made her delivery the fascinating thing that it was...like none other that I have ever heard. That's what really interests me and a point of fascination for folks doing serious research on this woman in the future..and believe me, it WILL happen. Wondering if Chrissy had any thoughts on sharpie culture popular around Melbourne during her youth...seems like it might have been a good fit... from what I can gather. Jeeez....here I go writin' another book...

As 'Sleeping beauty' is playing in the background this TV show must have been beamed in late 1985 or early 1986 and not 1988 as stated above.
