Great video, looking forward to part two! One point though: The B7 might be the first to come with a 5-gear out of the box but the Rudebits 5-gear transmission has been available for a few years now, way before the B7. It's pricey but totally worth it if you're running Serpent on indoor tracks. Some even built a Frankenstein car with a LD3 front end and a custom chassis plate around it just because the transmission is so awesome.
Always a good well thought out video mate.... As a new buggy racer( 3rd race this Wednesday) I plumbed for a couple of second hand TA B6. 1. And as you say finding the abuse they can withstand surprising.... Keep the videos coming buddy 👍
Great Video! Definitely agree with you on your thoughts across these brands, ive been running xray in 1/10 and 1/8 for a few years now, you can basically upgrade your kit every year if you race solidly week in and week out, for me, i would say its worthwhile upgrading every 3 years as that's when the major uodates happen, ie: the 21, 22, 23 xb2 are all relatively the same, just with some small upgrades, the 24 has been alot of changes, you also get 2 gearboxes, highly likely the 25 wont have many changes and you won't get the second gearbox like you did in the 24, they have just teased the xb2 25, looking forward to seeing the changes as im ready to uodate my 21 xb2c 😊👌🇦🇺
If you are an 8th scale fan and don't mind a drive to Omaha Nebraska check out our 8th scale tekno winter series at the Hobby town Hobby plex. Get that Nitro fix on the indoor dirt track
The LD3 may be using propriatery springs, but they are cheap. The full set is around 20€ per axis. Now compare that to other brands... When I receive my PR B10R I'll probably 3d-print some spring cups to run Schumacher springs cause all my other springs are for 12mm shocks.
How did you cover Losi but not Yokomo? Nobody uses Losi anymore. The YZ-2 CAL3.1 and SO2.0 are amazing vehicles. They also have the RO1.0 which is basically the same thing but a RTR for beginners. In addition Yokomo and Associated have a long history together and if you look closely at the vehicles you'll notice many similarities.
People’s money don’t come from nowhere. Agama put in effort in the n1 doesn’t mean them treated the 2wd any seriously. When I looked at it a while back then it looks like a scammer, now they just changed the design, like wth is that
Unless there is a B7.1 sometime soon I am thinking of the Mugen MSB1 for my son when he outgrows his RB10. I never went to the B7 from my B6.4D, I got it just before the B7 came out and I don't see the point right now.
On what basis do you think the LD3m is more fragile than others? What experience do you have. I have seen many b7 break trans and c blocks all the time.
What would you recommend between the PR racing S1V4 and the PR racing S1 RM? One’s mid motor and one rear, it’s my first buggy, i’ve raced my slash in shortcourse a few times.
Don’t let others opinions shape your decisions , the B7 has handed me EASY wins over ALL the brands with MUCH less tuning and effort. The only brand I would potentially put over a B7 is a Shumacher. Go look at big 10 scale races from the last few months. I promise you will see B7 more than anything on podium pics. There is a reason the B7 is the number 1 selling buggy right now and with that comes the super aggressive drivers that break parts and blame the platform. B7 going on 2months with constant podiums and no breakages AT ALL.
@@louisCrashes So you think i should get a B7 instead of a Schumacher LD3S for 17.5 stock spec? I’ve been asking around. It just seems like the b7 gearbox and c/d block issue would make the car cost more because of breakage.
Depends on what type of surface you’re running on. Team Associated will have the best parts support and community to help out with issues and problems. The B7 is also insanely easy to tune. Schumacher depending on where you are will be a little tougher to get your parts and help however the performance on high grip is INSANE! Those Schumacher buggies are B7 killers for sure lol Stay neutral and always know that all buggies have potential and more then the buggy it’s the driver. Also just as an FYI I don’t consider myself aggressive to drive but I am not passive either and def take risks and haven’t had a single problem with either C or D blocks. Casing FAT JUMPS lol
Sounds good. But, how does anyone justify $400 for basically a chassis, arms and gearbox? Then, you have to change and add everything else from aftermarket sources before you can even drive it. I'm staring at the B7. Would it not be better to just build a car from scratch at this point?
8:54 completely disagree. it makes it wayyy more complicated as you have to figure out what you need to do and buy to make it work for your surface. its also more expensive. im going through that right now with a t6.4. luckily im not brand new to racing but if i was i would have never bought it. with associated its pretty obvious which one you should get for which surface.
Its strange the team associeted site they dont mention the fact that they won the 1/8world Champion in Spain problaby they dont know 😂 ! My Next 1/8is a Mugen .beacuse they dont make A new 1/8 pass on month like the xray 😕
dude makes solid *UNBIASED* RC content and doesn't grift like most of the RC content creators
Always happy to see another well put together Roach production.
1:00 that's a nice blue groove 😩

I'm going to make Taxxas one of those track capable buggies 😊
Great video! Hit all the key points
How does the yokomo so 2.0 fit into the mix? I’ve heard a little about these as well!
Good day with a roach video.
Thanks im trying to decide on a new 2wd buggy, associated seems good but I dont like that everyone has one
You will be grateful when everyone has em and you’re broken before a main with no idea where 😢

Roach come to the Knox Vegas Opener at the ROCCK bud
I have a msb1 to build, coming from a b6.4, looking forward to something different
If you need any info on Yokomo i have 3 buggies and have run them for a while.
Not a mention!

This is part one
"Nobody uses Losi anymore...at my track".....There.....I fixed it for you. You're welcome.
You have any plans on getting that new 1/10 2wd agama buggy?
More than likely no
People’s money don’t come from nowhere. Agama put in effort in the n1 doesn’t mean them treated the 2wd any seriously. When I looked at it a while back then it looks like a scammer, now they just changed the design, like wth is that

Nice vids, thanks mate. Which xray spring cups do I need to be able to fit all springs? I’m new to rc. I Just finished building an LD3 dirt✨🕺🏻
I believe Part# XRA368013 will work
On what basis do you think the LD3m is more fragile than others? What experience do you have. I have seen many b7 break trans and c blocks all the time.
Mostly personal experience, along with some here say from Schumacher drivers. It's durable, just not b6 durable
What would you recommend between the PR racing S1V4 and the PR racing S1 RM? One’s mid motor and one rear, it’s my first buggy, i’ve raced my slash in shortcourse a few times.
It depends on where you're racing. If you're racing indoors than I'd go with the mud motor
@ I have a couple tracks near me, one super loose and loamy and the other carpet. Likely going to run more outdoor.
Rear motor it is
This solidified my decision to not buy a B7 for my first carpet racer
Don’t let others opinions shape your decisions , the B7 has handed me EASY wins over ALL the brands with MUCH less tuning and effort.

@@TurtleHeadPro320 then you’re on dude! Good luck and have fun out there bud!
I got a MSB1 with ball diff I have to build
Asso or Schu or Optima for off road?
Probably associated or Schumacher
My b7 has literally never broke and we run 6t motors
Sounds good. But, how does anyone justify $400 for basically a chassis, arms and gearbox? Then, you have to change and add everything else from aftermarket sources before you can even drive it. I'm staring at the B7. Would it not be better to just build a car from scratch at this point?
Depends on your skill level. I am racing box stock LD3 and it is more than fine. Only part I added was rear sway bar.
