Enjoyed, you do a great job explaining what the bike is doing, its behavior and the shape the trail is in. The way I look at the single track trails today/ opinion has changed 180 degrees from a year ago. Be safe.
Looks like a great bike with really good suspension too. I like how you test your bikes on tighter trails to see if it can handle them. And not just going 90 miles an hour down so long straight, good job as always..
I had a 16 300 SE-R and it was the funniest 1.75 Hours I have ever had on a bike. The chassis was so sweet along with everything else, power, suspension, handling was unreal! I have had many bikes but that was my favorite!
I remember being injured out on a trail broke my right big toe didn't have boots on right side smashed a treet trunk. Unless there was a down hill available there was no way I could bump start the bike. I was thankful for the kick start that day and protective boots as well LoL.
Great video. I’m hoping to get a chance to ride a 2021 2T soon. The pegs being flat on the 300 SEF I tested didn’t bother me but the height of the pegs felt weird. Thanks for the great video!
I have the 2019 version of that exact bike. I can't say I've noticed the footrests being flat like you mentioned. Or I just haven't had an issue with them being that way. I ride in somewhat similar type of terrain in Tennessee. I love this bike though. By far my favorite.
@@PNWEnduro Haven't had to yet. But we have a dealer somewhat close by. I heard he's about to stop selling them though. That's the biggest issue with them currently. They really needed to follow Beta's model for parts and dealer networks. Hopefully it'll get there soon.
Great review! Actually testing these bikes where they were built to be used 👏👏 I’m torn between the 21 version of this Sherco or a 21 Te250i. Decisions such as these are tough!!
The only reason I haven't purchased a new bike is because I don't want to have to completely rebuild the suspension again to make it work properly. Maybe a Sherco is in my future? Also, a carburetor is a nice feature as well.
I'm in Canada and own a Sherco. Just buy your parts online like you do with everything else. It's a none issue really. My buddies with KTM do the same anyways. Killer bike on so many levels. Recommended 👍🏻
I like the way the sherco looks too. I was impressed on how you were able to grunt up some of that knarly stuff I thought it was a 300 at first. Good review 👍
Your videos are awesome. I really enjoy the testing. I have a couple questions for you. 1. Heading into 2021 which bike would you select for the PNWMA series Sherco, Beta, KTM ? Do you see many husky or KTM 150’s 2t racing? Would a Beta 200 or husky 150 do well in the senior classes ?
Personally I've lost interest in racing for the most part. I do see some 150's in the series, the 2020-2021's are really good, it and the Beta 200 would do well in the senior class. I raced a 200 for a few years.
PNW Enduro So from your experience, would you rather race a 150 2 t or 250 4 stroke ? For the rides that you partake on, would you ever consider a 250 4 stroke ?
I know what you mean about the 2021's being hard to get. A limited dealer network here in the states. And that whole rona thing screwing with international shipping doesn't help either
Glad you got a chance to ride a Sherco. I have a 2014 300 SEF-R. Great bike but a pain to get parts for at times ( in Alberta...no dealers that I know of). Thought about going to a Beta 300RR...are they comparable in your opinion?
I would say they are comparable if the Beta is a race edition with kyb. The Beta 300rr motor is fantastic but the bike overall feels a bit less nimble.
Almost got a Sherco. Liked the motor, torque, suspension. Ergos just felt so weird to me. Felt so out of place on it. Overall I like my 2020 300xc tpi better.
I would live to get a Sherco. Sadly, I don't have 10k plus operating expenses to spare......and my wife would divorce me, rendering me even broker. I never should have sold my RM250 that was set up for tight woods.
Shifting was smooth, did not notice any problems at all. It does turn pretty well in the tight stuff I find, better than a lot of the other bikes I've tested this year.
The TPI will have a smoother more "electric" feel. Both have plenty of power but the tpi probably pulls harder throughout the rpm's but feels softer off idle. Weight is pretty close I think. As far as handling the Sherco feels smaller and changes direction quicker. Off the floor the KYB suspension is a lot better than the stock KTM suspension I had on my 250xc.
Great video, a local dealer in my area just picked up the Sherco line. I’m considering the 250 Factory over the KTM tpi 250 xcw. Any drawbacks you can think of?
That are great bikes. A couple negatives would be they are heavier and the counterbalance is not a smooth. There is a lot more to like about these bikes though. I will have some new Sherco related content coming out soon.

Hey PNW thanks for your videos, they are very helpful. I just sold a 2014 Sherco SE-R250. I'm thinking about what to get next. I could never get my old Sherco to corner particularly well in the really tight stuff. I know they made the head angle steeper on the newer frames. At 5'8" the bike was very tall for me as well. Could you give me an idea of how this bike stacks up in seat height to a Beta 200,250 or KTM XC-W 250? Thanks!
The Shercos are an awesome bike. I'm on my 3rd one now. Just took delivery of a 2021 300SE Factory after 2 x 300 SEF 4t models. It sounds like your demo bike was jetted pretty rich, lots of '4 stroking' at light throttle which I've crispened up on my bike. 👍
