Probably any pet its hard to take care of you wanna do it right, but sure some ppl won’t even try to know which brand of dog food it’s good for them dogs. Loved the video, I’m gladly the skink is doing fine, they’re so cute :)
I love reptiles. I wish I could have one, but I’m terrified of bugs. I don’t mind worms, but when it comes to bugs like crickets or anything that flies or crawls, I freak out. especially something that flies that really freaks me out not to mention I don’t know how hard it is to take care of them since I’m completely blind so I’m not sure if that’s gonna be harder or not.
My crested gecko won’t eat insects like meal worms or crickets, I let a few crickets run loose in his container and I pinch the mealworms with tweezers and feed them to him, but he won’t eat them, why not?
try feeding him in a separate container and let the mealworms run around the container if it doesnt eat that way try with tweezers in the empty container. If not take him to a vet
Hi, do you have any tips how to not be intimidated by a snake? My sister has female 2 year old corn snake and she rarely handled her while the snake was juvenile. I've tried to handle her a week ago, and as soon as i opened her enclosure she became very alert and was looking at me. I touched her and she turned to my hand very quickly, so i became anxious and left her alone. Next day i tried again and instead of my hand i used metal tongs that i use to feed my tarantulas. And again she turned her head to the tongs and started wiggling her tail quickly, so again i left her alone. Do you have any ideas why she does that and how to pick her up and not get bitten?
The best tip that I was taught when handling, is to just go for it and not hesitate when reaching for them because you’re giving them time to react. If you draw your hand away quickly, this will only teach her what to do to not be touched. If you’re worried about them biting, what I used to do is just wear thick sleeves over my hands in case they did bite. Socialize them by handling everyday for maybe 15 minutes and they’ll eventually get used to your scent. You can also have a spray water bottle handy if they do manage to bite you and latch on. Also, never handle for at least 48 hours after eating. Hope this helps!
