Being a motorcycle mechanic. I've owned so many different bikes. The best all around bike I've ever ridden. Taking it coast to coast US next year. Awesome video. Awesome bike!
I think the new monster is amazing I tested it recently. About reliability I don’t think it’s much of a concern with modern ducatis. I have a 2013 Monster 795 and it has been reliable since the start similar with other owners as well who never find reliability an issue. Maintenance cost however is on a different level compared to Japanese bikes :)
Glad there's an opposite opinion, I don't find it unacceptable in the least, in fact it is in keeping vvith the nevver Ducati looks trend & as such I like it!
awesome review (as usual :)) ), only one notice, the bike does have a fuel gauge in the dash (see min 6:16, top left) cheers from a fellow biker in Morocco :))
That gas tank and headlight are what kill it for me. I get the trellis frame is gone for a reason, but they could have kept it a little less common looking. To be fair, it's a great looking bike up close in person, but it doesn't look "Monster" to me
Thanks buddy for the in depth review.. pretty timely as I am currently surveying on which brand or model to own and definitely eyeing on the Monster, as my first bike....I wonder whether this would be the best or a better option for a beginner ..Appreciate some tips from MotoDeal and experienced bikers...Huge thanks, all the way from Malaysia
I'm Malaysian as well. Went from Duke 390 as my first bike to Street Triple RS. Was considering between 790 Duke, Monster and Street Triple RS, but ultimately went for the STRS as it's more usable as a daily rider in our Malaysian heat. The 790 and Monster would be more fun for weekend rides but they're just too rough and hot for in town use.

Thanks for a great revievv! Side note, sure is pretty there😉😊
The only thing I find kinda dissapointing is the head light … not agressive enough but it looks great overall and sounds like a monster with the termignioli exhaust

Very easy to maneuver in the city and pretty good on freeways
Man, this looks NOTHING like a dragster 😂. The Dragster is so much more unique, refined, wild. This new monster just looks like any Japanese Bike, but in red 😭
I must admit the new one seems strange to look at. I am more acquainted with the trellis frame. Whenever I see the trellis design it suggest to me that bike is a Ducati. Specially on a Monster series.
How did you find the hydraulic clutch on the Monster in comparison to a cable operated clutch, the reason I ask is that when some manufacturers introduced hydraulic clutches about 20 years ago some (like Suzukis sv1000) were an absolute pig to operate, with a paper thin biting area.
Hi, how would you compare it to mv agusta brutale 800? I know it doesn’t seem comparable but torque delivery is almost same, use and style is similar, and then everything differ. I would be curious as too often it’s only compared to ktm, or other twins.
@@weed46 Im not sure what you want to say...that 1200 is more than 937 or what? :) If we talk about the look, its very subjective, those I cannot be wrong :) Again, from my perpective is the new one the most beautiful Monster ever made.
@@jantok9217 I want to say that 3rd gen Monster, is a proper monster, first because it looks like a monster, and then because it has multiple engines, not a single engine like the 937. Even the first gen Monster, the good old S4RS has a superbike engine with 130hp, full ohlins suspension.... It's a full one "Monster" of a naked bike... The new Monster is a middle weight toy, it went downmarket. Even the brakes are out of a 2014 Monster 821. Similar story with the 3rd gen, with the 1200 announced first, followed by the 821 the next year. All this is to say it's far too soon to know if this is the only engine option, or even the only spec that will be available. I suspect an upmarket version with high-end suspension and maybe a single-sided swingarm will come soon. You need to chill out about the 3rd gen Monsters - they barely have a trellis frame (as if that counts for anything) and are oversized, overweight cows of a bike - they're fast, but power isn't everything. F900R feels much bigger. Monster is very very slim and light. F900r is better for new bikers, Monster is bit more agressive. Monster doesnt like run under 4000rpm but f900r yes. I am just wondering, compared to Night Shift, this new Monster, which one has more straight posture? Because I am not so comfortable with too aggressive posture. The Night Shift ergonomic is the border line for, can not go more aggressive than this. Thank you.
When im watching an expensive bike that i cant afford i was like ok ..maybe someday ill ride it something like that but not gonna buy it cause imma cheap one 😂

Nice bike though the lack of cruise control is problem if one is use to having it.
The rider's seat is set at 820mm but thanks to the optional seat configuration it can go down to 795mm, or be lowered to 775mm using the suspension lowering kit (seperately buy). So yeah, you should be fine.
