I live this challenge. Seen it last year then you ended up next to the lake witch gave a bit more possibilitys I guess. Still a nice outcome now. I guess this is a nice idea for my videos also. Do you allow a space for you at the end of the 1000 steps? For example 10m2 ? Grt guido
Well all I can say Huw is, that if I'd have walked 1000 yds and had what you were confronted with I personally wouldn't have bothered, especially with the wind blowing like it was. I'm not knocking the principle of the exercise one bit, because as you say, it makes you step outside your confort zone, and think what you can achieve, but I think if you are going to do the 1000 yard challenge, do so on a day when the weather is less changeable and you stand more of a chance of getting a worthwhile shot of whatever or wherever you end up and get presented with.
All true, however if I was to do this in perfect conditions then really what would be the point and to be fair the conditions where I started the count were absolutely lovely so I had no reason to presume that where I'd end up would be any different. I do agree though that the image I ended up with is not going to grace a portfolio anytime soon. Hasn't stopped me from doing the challenge again though for 2025!
