15 Excellent 20 Hour Long Single Player Games
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 чер 2024
- More and more with each passing day, the games industry is growing increasingly obsessed with delivering large scale, never-ending experiences that players can clock hundreds of hours into, and as the market becomes saturated with them, the value of relatively smaller and more focused experiences becomes clearer and clearer.
That said, games that last 15-20 hours and manage to squeeze out everything they can out of every minute in that runtime are, thankfully enough, not exactly a rarity either, even if they are not as popular as ginormous 100 hour epics, and here, that is exactly what we will be focusing on. Here are a few 20 hour solo games from recent years that you absolutely should now miss out on. - Ігри
0:29 Control
1:02 Alan Wake 2
1:38 Like A Dragon Gaiden
2:13 A Plague Tale: Requiem
2:53 Batman Arkham City
3:38 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
4:20 Sleeping Dogs
4:58 Star Wars Jedi Survivor
5:35 Metro Exodus
6:09 Mad Max
6:59 Metal Gear Solid 4
7:40 Prey 2017
8:14 Guardians Of The Galaxy
8:45 Middle Earth Shadow Of Mordor
9:24 Watch Dogs 2
Watch dogs 2 best in the series definitely a sleeper
Thanks, saved me 10 minutes 😇
Thank you 🙏
Doing a list without time markers is disrespectful for the viewers.
@@innocentbystander8346 I agree
Being so busy with work and life I love 20 hour or shorter games. It’s overwhelming having a huge open world game that takes over 50hrs with hundreds of markers littered all over the map
As a 40 years old full time employee i can relate. 20-30 hours is the perfect duration for games. All millenials can enjoy their 3000000 hours open worlds, not this daddy 😂
My dude if you are 40 years old, you too are a millennial. 😂 But I agree with the sentiment. 150+ hour games are for the young. I’d like to play long games but the looming threat of my kids waking up at 5:30 every morning is a strong motivator to sleep instead.
To be fair, most open world games are designed so that the main story takes less than 20 hours.
It's the side quests and collectibles that make them last more than 50 hours.
Oh can you be my daddy???
Gay
As a 50 yo, 20-30 hours is too long for any non RPG.
Most of the greatest games ever made. The Halos, Gears games, Castlevanias, Ninja Gaidens, Metal Gears, OG God of Wars, Bayonetta, Metroid, etc are all around 10 -15 hours. 20 max
Gaming is in such a bad place right now due to modern design for the “modern audiences” that want to waste 100 hours doing mundane fetch quests.
Vanilla Ninja Gaiden II on 360 is the best action game ever made, and it’s around 10 hours long.
Finally, someone who gave props to "Mad Max" other than Gameranx!
Person opinion here…. That game is ass don’t kill me lol
It’s to slow for me and no jump button is a hard pill to swallow 😅lol
Sleeping Dogs and Mad Max are both underrated! I have 180 hours in Mad Max. The brawling is excellent, but the car combat is truly next level.
Every upgrade you make to The Magnum Opus can be felt, With a freaking grappling hook, when you slam into another car it's just so satisfying! And then if you choose to venturing out in the electric sandstorms... Oh man, I think I need to replay hthis game!!!
Oh man, just you describing it makes me want to jump back in. That game was criminally underrated.
id play the fury road soundtrack on spotify when theres a storm id go to a outpost its amazing!!
@@Demetrix13 Thanks for the pro tip!
Mad Max is dope. There’s nothing around and it’s beautiful then you see a car with war boys and you must crush them. Those sandstorms are unbelievable. I would love a Twisted Metal done like this car combat
I just finished the main story in control in 2024. The game probably isn’t that long, but I have the ultimate edition with the dlc, so I’m about 40hrs in! This is one of the best games I’ve played in years!
It was unforgettable - amazing game
@@danielvelasquez2858 so good!!!
Prey really is something you cannot forget. What a masterpiece!
I don't mind games being even under 10 hours at times. That's why I really enjoy the campaigns of games like Call of Duty and the older Battlefields. Ever so often, I'll replay them.
To short feel, like you didn't get your moneys worth also games learning g curves can take a few hours so by the time tou mastered it its over
@@audie-cashstack-uk4881 I respect that perspective. The reason why I can look at it that way is because I grew up in a time where you could beat a game in less than an hour in some cases. I grew up in the 80s and games were much shorter back then. But I also at one point in my life remember the days where I thought 50-60 hours was too short. Now, I consider length based on the game itself. And if a game can provide a good experience in less than even 5 hours, I'll take it. It depends on the game. I typically don't pay full price for games anyway so I don't take that into account in relation to how long a game is.
I have always liked the CoD campaigns for this exact reason. After watching an action flick like Mission Impossible, I need a quick chaser of CoD or Uncharted bombast.
I beat the Prince of Persia trilogy from the PS2/Xbox era. Each game was like 8-10 hours making it a breeze to get through.
Thats one of the things I miss from that era
Also
Resident Evil 4 remake
Dead Space remake
Evil Within 2
All on my backlog 😂
Lovin RE4 remake right now.
Evil within 1 & 2 are great!
All really good games.
Control is one of my favorite games ever, and it shaped my personality at some point in 2021 it made me like the architecture of brutalism and researching on anything relatively close to "America Overnight", a radio program in the world of control discussing paranormal activities...definitely would recommend it's worth playing
I've played most of these and I cannot imagine any of them being wrapped up nicely in 20 hours. If you only spend 20 hours on any of these games you are missing HUGE parts of the game. I probably averaged 30-50 hours on many of them. Granted I like to take my time but still, 20 hours is bonkers.
Who in the world got through mgs4 in 20hours lol
For MGS, do they mean 20 hours of gameplay or 20 hours of cutscenes? 😅
Constantly a great channel
love it
I must not play games as fast as these guy's or some...
They don't either. No one does.
Yeah they game length is a load of none sense from reviewers you usually add at least 50% on to it
Or they probably play everything on easy and make it seem like they played it on normal.
I think a lot of them look at the time stamps on save files, which do not factor in deaths/reloads etc
Prey definitely gets around 35 hours when you get invested in the information you might have about other characters.
I remember playing prey on launch. At the time there was no plans for dlc glad to see they changed that
I'm a huge metro 2033 fan and I hated the decision to go semi open world in Exodus
I Desperately need more Single Player Games
Uncharted: A Thief’s End? Yeah. Uncharted: A Thief’s End.
I spent close to 100 hours playing Uncharted 4. Explored everything and had a great time in each playthrough.
Prey what a masterpiece❤
What a disappointment... We want the original Prey 2, not the cheap knock off we got.
Mad max best vehicules combat ever
Such grounded gameplay. Incredible! Gripping, hard hitting, and realistic. Fantastic!
is it that good? I never play it, but after this video it looks awesome
@@glenn3646 To be honest. I must have been distracted and went on to another game so probably only put 5 hours or so into it. But I can't imagine it got any worse by how brilliant the world and combat was. I totally recommend the game. Hidden and underrated gem!
@@glenn3646 Absolutely, the vehicular combat is unmatched imo, and the progression system of upgrading your car the "Magnum Opus" is so interesting and satisfying.
@@eric7591 awesome
Sleeping Dogs and Mad Max are two underrated games that I truly loved and enjoyed playing.
control has some excellent world building and if you like the SCP universe, you will love that one.
Im impressed very good list i recommend every single game from it
Excellent list of games. The only one missing is Days Gone i think.
I assumed as it was an open world game I it runs longer than the requisite 20 hours?
That’s more than 20 hours.
Thats way more than 20 hours. 40 at minimum.
Sleeping dogs is great
Every few years there are rumors that it could be getting a remake, but then it never pans out. I loved this game and yeah it was very underrated because of when it was released.
More videos like this please 😊
hellblade senua's sacrifice is a must play
i thought it was some god of war style nordic action game, but instead it was a pretentious mental illness simulator. i have no idea what is so good about it and yes, i finished the game. way overrated.
Yea once on sale that 💩 is extremely short
That walking Sim is like 4 hours long and not a good game it's basically a movie
I would argue that the title of this video should have been "Games you can beat in 20 hours, but shouldn't". Only doing the story in most of this list, would be criminal!
There are soooo many amazing Indie and AA games you missed out on. And even some older AAA games, like Deus Ex: Human Revolution, it’s about 20-25 hours to complete your first time. Sea of Stars will set you back 20-30 hours. Metroid Dread. List can go on and on
Spec Ops the Line
Great game with a story that will really haunt you at the end.
Watchdog's One was WAY better than Watchdog's 2 way better story and a more realistic experience
The fact that you put MGS4 on here shows me that you literally have no idea what you’re talking about. The cutscenes alone in that game are 8 hours total with one with being 70 minutes LOL
Hey GamingBolt, and commenters,
Any single player FPS to recommend or those set in WW2/WW1, I miss the good'O MOH, COD Single Player days
I’m ready for Sleeping Dogs 2
Great games
Control is easily one of the best games I’ve ever played
Both Plague Tale games are amazing and highly underrated
second Plague Tale is overrated, almost no gameplay elements and mediocre story, visuals and music are amazing, but not enough for great game
first one was amazing though
good list
Nf g
Final Shape did this great with the campaign in D2
Some Games are still to Play but Metro Exodus and Batman Arkham City are the BEST for me.
Do a part 2 please
Control. I love all about that game.
I wish there will be another game for sleeping dogs and mad max
*100 hours of Control for me.....then 100 more once I beat it* 🙌
I don't think I managed any of those in under 30 hours 🤷♂️😂
Saying watchdogs two had a strong cast of characters is a joke.
I started laughing at the writing when there was dialogue that sounded as if it was taken straight out of a campy kindergarten show (paraphrased) “Because that’s what hackers do!” *everyone proceeds to put their fists together like they’re part of the power rangers.
Crazy to think that twenty hours feels lengthy in a worthwhile single player game and then 20 hours goes by like nothing in an open world or a JRPG. I just clocked in 20 hours in SMT V and I’m still on the first map.
I like 20-30 hour games with 100% achievements lol
Watch Dogs > Watch Dogs 2
Thanks for your opinion, I guess. But personally, watch dogs 2 was a huge improvement over 1.
@@johananj.j8003Of course it was... If they didn't improve on it, it would have been a critical failure. That being said, Watch Dogs was still a great game that held its own.
@@Joreel Did you read the OP's comment?
I supported GOTG two times. On PC and PS5. I tried to help...
How much did Remedy kick you back for the top 2 spots?
They both easily get placed up there ngl
@@C.Malefac Control is great. Alan Woke 2 not so much 😂
These lists keep appearing and it's the same old games. Goes to show how bleak the future looks for the traditional gaming industry
Watch dogs 2 was one of the best open world games ever
Wolfernstein Series in chronological ingame order (not release order) Wolfenstein Old Blood, Wolfenstein the New World Order, Wolfenstein II New Colossus, Wolfenstein Youngblood.
Horizon series: Horizon Zero Dawn, Horizon Forbidden West
Mass Effect Series, 1,2,3 Andromeda
Most of these games have 20+ even 30+ single player game time. And they are far better than most of of the games on this list.
Arkham City is much longer than 20 hours D:
0:48 I know right? I dont know who is wrong here he or me? Because I spent 120 hours in Control completing all the main and side missions and all the DLC's and I still had few chalanges what I didnt completed. So I 98%-ed that game in 120 hours. How can somebody spend just 20 hours? HOW?? Somebody just please tell me!?
Most of these games take longer than 20 hours…..which is a good thing
*Ghost rekon breakpoint* ✌️🐸
I finish Control in 38 hours with 95% Completion
Spiderman 2 should have been longer and made Kraven playable. They shouldn't have killed off a bunch of villains off screen so the best way around this was play as Kraven to beat these villains
I wanted to like watch dogs 2, but i just couldn't get into back then.
But noooo people just want huge and photorealistic games more and more then ask why the cost to make them it's so high.
Jeez I feel like most games these days require well over 100 hours. Who plays just the main story and leaves everything else untouched anyway?
I played 12/15
Does anyone know if there is a plan to ever release an alan wake 2 physical version? I would love to play it but refuse to pay money for something that i don't actually own.
They just announced physical versions of the game yesterday at summer games fest. I know for sure collector editions, but not sure if there will be standard versions.
@@brianthompson846 That is fantastic. Thanks so much for that info. I have been anticipating a physical copy since 2 was announced. Much appreciated my friend.
I would add re4 remake, cant recommend enough
Next you should do a video where you actually mention more Linear Games that are 15 Excellent 20 Hour Long 1P Games 😉LOL
protip: don't make it a list of Open World Games LOL smh
Days gone.
it's sad we're getting Alan Wake 2 DLC instead of control 2
Since some of your choices can exceed 20 hours easily, it is hard to figure out your line on games. That being said God of War Valhalla is my favorite action adventure game this gen and I prefer the first Spider Man story and villains to any other in series.
Arkham City - 20 hours! 😂 Who is playing it? A-Train?
Time stamps?
Too lazy i guess hate when they do that
Assassin's creed Mirage
I have started control at least 5 times and just cant get into it. Its so boring
Its so slow to start, i felt the same way until, but once all powers are unlocked it becomes an excellent, almost Jedi powers like game.
@@antonioenrico I'll stick with it then. Thanks buddy 🙂
One of my all time fav games,
Definetly give it a chance, if you are into such games i guarantee you won‘t regret it
Yep, it’s boring. The good thing is, once you get all the powers you become op. I didn’t understand what was going on, I just like killing stuff
Id throw the last of us games and rhe uncharted games in here
Those games seemed to be at least 50 hours to me .
0:48 I dont know who is wrong here you or me? Because I spent 120 hours in Control completing all the main and side missions and all the DLC's and I still had few chalanges what I didnt completed. So I 98%-ed that game in 120 hours. How can somebody spend just 20 hours? HOW?? Somebody please tell me!?
This list was just talking about main stories only without playing extra content or DLC's. Personally, however, I must play as much content as possible. I can't just play story content and leave everything else.
@@emmatrigg9855 well to be able to say that you completed some game you have to experience everything. Im not saying you have to 100% the game but the main and side missions with all DLC have to be completed in my opinin. And also most of the challanges but that is not that important. But in my opinion if you spend only 20 hours in Control than you just speedruned the game and missed all the fun part, explorings, finding glitches or bugs and stuff like that.
That’s how I feel. Like if you rush through it, you miss out on so much and also haven’t truly completed it. The one game I digress on here though is FF7 remake. I don’t feel like many of the side quests are worth it or respect my time, but I’m doing them anyway because I can’t not do them lol
Bright 🍬 🎈🎈🎈
Resident evil 2 is great game
No doom eternal
If you’re playing Arkham City for only 20 hours you’re definitely not really playing it lol
How tf u gonna play mgs4 without a ps3 bruh? Foh. Until master collection vol 2 comes out…
IDK what kind of speed run you were doing but Control is not 20 hours.
This video needs chapters.
I never understand when ppl say they are too busy to play large games, yet they can manage to play many shorter games. If the experience is great I don't mind chipping away at a 50 - 70 hour game over a long period.
I'm 52 I just did tears of the kingdom black flag and re4 remake,e and re4 og and fortnite and xdefient
Oh and metro exodus
@@audie-cashstack-uk4881 Doood Metro Exodus is sooooo good
Sleeping Dogs ftw !
Please make this a regular video!
These are real games, for real gamers.
Not eSports, not infinite hour time-sinks.
Just straight up, start-to-finish gaming.
The way it 100% is supposed to be.
You guys need to start doing timestamps
20hrs games are likely 2 mins sex😂
As long as these games are priced ok .
Nobody wants a $70 20 hour game .
If I'm paying £70 ($90) for a game. I want to get my moneys worth so needs to be replayable or 30+ hours.
No need to play a game all in one sitting. Should be enjoyable to do it by bit. Alien isolation took me about 25 hours but was enjoyable even if i did it bit by bit
Have you considered waiting for a sale or buy used? Paying $20 for these games is always worthwhile 👍🏻
@TheRealMvV i normally do nowadays. Games are way too expensive to do impulsive buys on. Last game i bought thar was worth it full price was re4 remake for £60
@@DalazG Right on. I haven’t purchased a game at full price since Resident Evil on ps1 lol
Anybody put timestamps since the creator is greedy not putting timestamps so that people watch whole video
Sleeping Dogs is one the best games ,I have ever played on the PS 3 and PS 4 .And if people playing on the current generation of consoles ,well they are missing out big time ! But I have squeezed few more hours on some the other games on this list .
Keep showing same games every time 😮
The words 20 hrs and excellent do not go hand in hand when games are $70…
Explain how.
@@ryanluecke1563 $70…
As gamers in today’s market we should not be willing to pay more than $2 pr hr of gameplay. And I don’t mean replay-ability
Like $2 pr hr of meaningful content and not the same thing rinsed and repeated
I want 50 hours of gameplay for full price
20 hours is too long for games that aren’t RPGs.
Vanilla Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360 is under 10 hours, and it’s the best action game ever made.
The Sigma 2 version added a bunch of junk that kills the momentum making it worse, and it’s also comically easier.
20,hours is average and expected rpgs are 100 plus hours
Personally i thought Spider-Man 2 was shit. I was so hyped for years leading up to it, got the Spider-Man controller, called in day 1 from work to play, believe me I wanted it to be good, the gameplay was great! Main story was shit though, constantly hearing about how Miles is so much better than Peter was cringy as fuck, the side missions were AWFUL and when i beat the story i deleted it from console.
Control has great gameplay but no plot
Alan woke 2
