I love this! When we teach manding with "wh" questions, many still go through a list of targets that may not relate to them and just use prompting methods to ensure correct responses - but this leads to the child just proceeding with the task with no motivation and only learn the targets through rote memorization. Without motivation and functionality of the task (which can be incorporated in natural teaching methods), the child is less prone to acquiring the skill and inhibiting generalization with limited motivation to the task. This was a good refresher that even us as BCABs tend to overlook - so thank you for this!
