- Welcome back to another eventing vlog, going live on the day we travel to Badminton!!! This was mine and Jam's last run before the big day, so we chose Calmsden Horse Trials which is known for building testing tracks and using their terrain. Join myself, Hob, Han, and Pete for a fun day out eventing with nerves, close calls, and smiles by the end. The next eventing vlog will be my Badders one!!!

I love watching Jam compete. She does dressage, it's ok for her. She likes jumping it's fun. But to see her eyes when doing cross country, she absolutely loves it! Go, Jam and Meg! Good luck!

Wowzers, that was a beefy full up track and the pair of you absolutely flew round it. The difference in your confidence going into Badders last year compared to now is immense, Meg. So so positive and forward in that XC round. Best of luck over the next few days, Team Elphick. It's yours and Jammy's time to shine!

Yes they do, I don't mind Hannah being in Megan's vlogs, there was someone that didn't like Han laughing in the vlog that came out prior to this one. She laughed too much, that person needs to get over themselves!!!

@@MissJools11 It's not about Han, it's about Meg and Jam, and the constant chatter and giggling's distracting. Horses react to the tension around them by becoming tense themselves. Not what you need before competition.

@@haleyps6929 My opinion is NOT nasty nor did I tear anyone down at all. I only said her laughing constantly is so loud and distracting from the vlog content. This vlog is about eventing, Which I compete at too. I love to watch and Hear Meg and Hobbit. Nothing wrong with a laugh but when the competition starts I like sense. So don't tell me what to do . In all honesty only YOU are being nasty.
I love Han's fits of giggles. Reminds me of trying to stay quiet in say, class, or a library but you're sat next to your friend group... and everything is suddenly really funny 😂
really great XC round and yes any fence you survive you kick on from. The corner and terrain was tough and you need to laugh and let it go. She really is clever and her speed is one of her strengths and should never be classed as negative. That's her power base along with her intelligence. I wish you all the best for Badders. Enjoy it and trust Jam.

Would love to see those flying changes established so you can get a smoother SJ round but she looks fantastic. Just think forward! Good luck
Would love to see a video where you work on getting those changes during a jumping round such as landing on correct lead
I think that would make a big difference as well. Kind of surprised they haven't been working on them before

I've been wondering for a while how come you don't have "fancier" stirrups? (FreeJump etc) Or a sponsorship for stirrups?

Honestly if I hadn’t known what you thought about the rounds I would say that the dressage lacked a bit of uphill energy and that you looked super brave. Meg’s you’re absolutly KILLING IT!!!! You rode that cc soo forward. I mean if you compare the jumping and cc to where you’ve been upu can clearly see how much you’re confidence has grown

A great performance Meg & Jam. She’s grown into an absolute powerhouse. A testy time during the prep🥴 (I’d need quietly positive calm vibes to get into the zone proper), but despite that you turned it into an excellent pre-badminton test. You absolutely have it in you both to smash it this week. Hopefully a bit more zen and upbeat vibes during the prep stages next time 😂 No doubt Lucinda would advise the same. It does make a difference. Regardless, you’re more than capable of absolutely smashing it whatever the circumstances having done all the hard work and prep and support from Hobbit and Pete etc. 🙌🏻❤️

That was great. I'm loving your attitude changes. You are far more positive and getting much better at analyzing your riding, feelings etc. The dress rehearsal is never the best........it's all saved for the main event. ❤

You really need to change your mindset about your riding. You often come out with a thought like "undeserved clear round" or "Jam did incredible, I was rubbish" and while it is good that you are aware of your faults so that you can work on them you shouldn't come out of the ring focusing on that. You are where you are and have the horses that you have 100% because of the YEARS of blood, sweat and tears you put into your sport. Jam is the horse that she is because of YOU. You are an incredibly talented and well-balanced rider who has very normal issues that even those at the top of the sport face. Even some of the top trainers you've worked with on this platform admit openly that they don't always have clean jumps, they acknowledge out loud what they do wrong and how they need to fix it, you should work on doing the same. You are such an inspirational and talented human in this sport and YOU belong at Badminton and any other trial because of the work YOU put into it, because of the horses YOU produced and because of YOUR achievements in the past. That show jumping round was beautiful, yes you had one or two bad approaches but you are smart and knowledgeable enough to realize it and know how to correct it. Be smart enough to realize that you are here because of the work you put in and because of the talent you possess. Showing is scary, it's anxiety-inducing and sometimes our rounds do not reflect the full potential that we have but that does NOT mean that you are not talented, brave and highly intelligent. Walk out of that ring next time thinking, I need to work on this in the future but this round was beautiful and I did a really good job with x, y, and z. For every fault you recognize, point out 3 positives. You deserve it.
Overcoming your fears and anxieties 100% relies on your mindset at the end of the day. Every time you come out of the arena, whether it be for a training session or at a show, recognize 3 positives for every one fault. You'll start to notice your attitude and mindset start to shift as well as your confidence sky rocket.
