Honestly, Emilys training for you was terrific! You looked so confident in all 3 disciplines and she seemed to give you so much confidence!! Hope you keep her as a trainer ❤
Really noticed the very positive impact Emily had on your mindset walking the course and just being there and empathizing with your reality bc she does it herself. Your joy at the end (and obviously coming 1st) was so palpable- and so well deserved. Hold on to it!! And keep challenging yourself bc you are up to it - positive mindset!!
Walking this course with Emily seemed to make such a difference for you, Meg. She was giving ME confidence watching this. She's great. I hope we see Emily!

Edit: you and jammy done absolutely fantastic Meg!! I found myself in awe of your riding multiple times throughout this video, your hardwork is paying off. Your jumping round looked so powerful and fast, dressage jammy looked much more relaxed and cross country I mean come ON you got some absolutely cracking forward strides to those jumps. So chuffed for you both!

I agree with everyone here on the vlog - Emily needs to become part of Team Elphick. LOVE her no-nonsense approach to jumping/eventing. Very refreshing!
(A small note to Pete - let Lucy sleep as much as she wants! I had the same surgery (albeit years ago). I was *exhausted* most days. Didn't get my stamina back for *months* after the procedure and I didn't have the complication of having a post-op infection! Just throwing' it out there.)

You rode all three phases so confidently, honest the cross country was awesome, you really have been working on your confidence and it really does show. Absolutely fantastic ❤
Pausing after the dressage right now to say: Goosebumps! I watch a Jam test like this one with much more enjoyment than watching those bred to move fancy. Jam might not be the type prefered by judges in looks, but forget that! Just look at her move. The effort she puts in to tackle the movements with correctness. To me that's true equitation. Well done!

I said the same to a friend - Jam might not be dressage bred but she and Meg make a beautiful harmonious picture and they are often very correct. Jam steps under beautifully from behind, and when Meg has her working well she’s got lovely head carriage, not overbent like so many these days but nice and working uphill despite the fact that she’s built a bit downhill. And no signs of tension - no tail swishing, no unhappy mouth, just a responsive listening horse. She deserved that win. It might not be Grand Prix, but it was a pleasure to watch.
Meg, honestly your vlogs never fail to brighten my day. You are such an incredible rider and an inspiration to so many. I think sometimes the fun of the sport is lost in the fear of failing but you have helped me and so many other people help to remember that we do truly love it and it really can be good fun. You truly are amazing Meg . ❤❤
I have to say her form in the dressage test is some of the best I’ve seen from her, so much more relaxed and flowing into the contact
I feel like Emily’s course walk was so refreshing. Nothing complicated, just a simple kick on and ride positive or take a pull and relax. We all know when faced with a fence it can all be a bit much and the simplicity of the advice she gave really showed in your XC round 🎉
Belle really seemed to enjoy the work. Totally focused on the task and not distracted by her baby's antics. Great video!

When I was young I had a coach who would lovingly make us walk and trot, no stirrups, no reins, and at the end??? Standing no stirrups. I would limp through jr high for 2 days lolol.
I get it now, but it was 4 girls crying at the end. Impossible to dismount and walk. BUT we had ice cream in the kitchen as a surprise. Evil coach. Learned so much.

You never know, maybe Jam AND Winnie will qualify for Badders 2025 together. 😄
Winnie isn't eventing as she's too young. Meg hasn't even competed her yet, she hasn't been broken in very long. How can she qualify for Badminton when she hasn't even done a single event? Winnie is at the very beginning of her ridden career, too young for Badminton!!!
I know and understand that. That's why I didn't say Badminton 2024, which is what Jam just qualified for.
But Meg mentioned beginning eventing with Winnie next year, and Winnie may be up for a smaller level than Jam and might qualify for Badminton for the 2025 competition.
I also don't appreciate the tone of your comment, I am not so ignorant to think that Winnie is currently eventing or even ready for it.
I was merely saying a wishful and hopeful comment because it would be a pleasant surprise if one day Jam and Winnie go to Badminton together.

Simon casually saying hi during his round has to be my favourite moment but then there's you casually scoring a 26.5 in a toughly marked dressage with just a few sub thirties and all the little fun section intros for the dressage score predictions and all that.
