    The Doctor does deal in timey wimey weirdness, but we’ll need more than just a sonic screwdriver to fix these seismic errors. For this list, we're taking to the TARDIS to explore some of the biggest plot holes in "Doctor Who", that even the ever-reliable fall back of 'time travel' can't explain. It's just wibbly-wobbly wrong.

      The thing with the diamond wall- each time he respawns he is quicker, making him have more time to break the wall. Eventually, he can have enough time to break the diamond wall in one go without the creature burning him.

    The Statue of Liberty being a weeping angel is a massive plot hole because technically every picture of the statue is technically another weeping angle

      Actually because all of the images are the same angel and it’s such a popular landmark, none of them should be able to move. I’d say that the bigger plot hole is how the statue was able to attack.

      It’s not just that. Every weeping angel is made of stone.
      The Statue of Liberty 🗽 is made of copper and she has only turned green due to acid rain and corrosion (personally I think she actually looks better in green)
      It also doesn’t really make sense why lady liberty moves out of her podium without anyone noticing at all. The distance she would have had to travel you definitely would have noticed her moving in the city that never sleeps.

    10) Not a plot hole. The Metacrisis Doctor had a LOT of Donna Noble's personality quirks and traits as well as The Doctor's. Try again +WatchMojoUK
    9) Nope 0/2 so far. It is "You *SHOULD* kill us all on sight." A) Clara has no weapons or means to kill it, and 2) MANY other people don't attempt to kill them on sight either. It is a suggestion, not a command. Ie people would be more disposed to kill it on sight. For instance if a cop or army officer saw one, then yeah they would VERY likely attack and attempt to kill one, but a 5'0" unarmed school teacher who is travelling with a timelord, is in a space church on Christmas while the doctor meets with a lady spacepope, attempting to negotiate their way onto a planet? (Not to mention Clara was naked at the time) She would be more curious, and attempt to find out all she can about the creature rather than kill it. Try again +WatchMojoUK
    8) Nothing says Orson is directly related to Danny. He just says the toy soldier si a "family heirloom" and that "time Travel runs in the family". You honestly think when Danny pink died the government didn't go out of it's way to find a relative? (Sure I will give you the resemblence makes it more LIKELY that they are CLOSELY related, but by no means is this a given.) Also the fact that Danny was raised in an orphanage does not mean he has NO family just that he has no family willing or able to raise him. He could easily have a cousin in another orphanage or with family in say America or Canada, who simply couldn't be contacted when his parents died. Try again +WatchMojoUK
    7) I am beginning to think you don't even watch the show at this point, not EVERYTHING in the castle resets. Only the rooms reset their order. The whole castle is a giant clockwork puzzlebox. that resets itself to position 1 when the Doctor dies and re-enters it. None of the furniture or the shovel or even the Doctor's clothes reset. JUST THE WALLS. Try again +WatchMojoUK
    6) I will give you it would be hard for the statue to get to places without being seen by anyone ALTHOUGH if you remember Angels move faster than most people CAN see. Moreover the Doctor himself mentions that the angels can "infect" ANY statue, not just ones made of stone. As for Amy and Rory looking away it's called peripheral vision, ya numpty. Somewhat shakey i will grant you but definitely does not rise to the level of a plot hole. Try again +WatchMojoUK\
    5) Another one easily answered if you actually (Oh I don't know) WATCH THE EPISODE. Until it is revealed Dalek-Oswin never talks directly with The Doctor, or anyone else. Only over the radio. Daleks don't exactly have antennae. they use implanred probes in their brains to communicate through their machine case, it is not impossible or even a stretch to believe a dalek could immitate a human voice over the radio if it so desired. Normally they simply do NOT desire to do so, as they consider anything not Dalek to be an enemy needing to be exterminated. But Oswin, doesn't realize she is a Dalek yet. It makes perfect sense that she would subconsciously transmit her human voice over the radio instead of a Dalek one. Try again +WatchMojoUK
    4) A few different explantions pop to mind immediately for this one. Rule 1, the Doctor LIES. About his age especially. Moreover he tends to forget things. It is well established in Who lore that MOST timelords dump all frivilous memories (ie everything except the barebones) of pervious regenerations into the matrix after each regeneration. This is done in order to make room for new ones. Now The Doctor either hasn't had the opportunity or chose not to do this, every single time he regenerated. So his mind is VERY cluttered. He has a LOT of trouble remembering things from earlier regenerations at tthis point. Try again +WatchMojoUK
    3) As the Dotor himself says in "Father's Day". Ordinarily The Timelord's would take care of them, since The Doctor changed his own history and never destroyed Galifrey only froze it in a parallel universe, The Timelords were never really gone, and could easily have taken care of any reapers who popped up. Moreover, The Reapers don't appear when ANY paradox is created, only when a fixed point is changed, and by my count that has not happened or been allowed to happen except TWICE (and those quickly fixed themselves) first in "The Waters of Mars", and Second in "The Wedding of River Song." As I say both were self correcting, but in "Father's Day" it likely would not have self corrected, if the reapers didn't appear, hence they do. Try again +WatchMojoUK
    2) Okay now I KNOW you do not watch the show. The gravestone being observed by Rory and later Amy created a FIXED point in time. One the Doctor could not alter without the Timelords (or as you so rightly pointed out in entry number 3, The Reapers) interfereing and fixing it. He could not go and pick Amy and Rory up or even visitthem without risking altering that fixed point. ie The Doctor goes to visit Amy and while walking down the street with him a bus hops the curve and kills her. A fixed point is changed. Moreover The Doctor cannot visit Amy or Rory without knowing when they die, and as River says, repeatedly, "He doesn't like endings."
    1) Perhaps, if you subscribe to the entirety of the multiverse theory that every single eventuality is played out somewhere along some timeline, then yes, this reality bomb DID go off somewhere. However, Who is to say that both The Doctor AND Davros didn't simply get their sums wrong? Perhaps a reality bomb DOES have a limit, and can only destroy so many realities before it burns out of power? All things have their limits, even if theoretically they do not. That being said I will give you this one +WatchMojoUK . It is the closest you have come to finding an actual plot hole. *claps hands* . Welldone.

      5) what? in what point in the ACTUAL episode was it said that was the case? (and you have to use the ACTUAL episode and no assumptions!)

    • @kopitarrules
      @kopitarrules 6 років тому +104

      +kelan brown Okay there are a COUPLE of statements I made regarding number 5 so I am not sure which you mean, so I will address a couple and if you need further information please let me know more specifically what it is you feel I missed. (Hey I am human I am capable of mistakes).
      "Only speaks to OSwwin over the radio" Watch the actual episode. Until The Doctor enters the room with Oswin in it, He never actually speaks to her, except over the Radio.
      Watch "The Witch's Familiar" I believe it's called if you want to see proof of the implanted probes in Dalek brains. Missy clearly puts Clara in a dalek shell and attaches the probes to her skull there. Whenever she tries to talk it comes out of the Dalek as a word a Dalek would understand. For instance Clara masquerading as a Dalek could not say "love" or "I am Clara". It came out as "exterminate" and "I am a Dalek".
      Back to the episode referenced in entry number 5 on this list, Oswin makes the Comment that she "looked The Doctor up in the Dalek Database" This is part of the Dalek hive mind, even The Doctor cannot hack it because of this. Thus Oswin-Dalek has ACCESS to all of a Dalek's functions, including mimickry (which we see earlier with the drone who finds Amy on the surface, and in the spy units sent to collect Amy Rory and The Doctor.) BUT has CLEARLY not allowed the daleks into HER mind yet (which is why full ocnversion never took place and she was chained up in the facility as "mad" in the first place.) So when Oswin-Dalek communicates through the RADIO it makes sense she would use her OWN voice, BUT for the Dalek voice to come out when talking to The Doctor IN THE SAME ROOM (ie using the actual vocal processor of the dalek shell).
      I hope this sufficiently answered your questions. If there is anything you feel I am wrong about or have missed please feel free to respond. I am ALWAYS happy to talk to another Whovian about the show. :)

    The reapers thing is not a plot hole, it is actually well explained in the episode. The point in time is weakened by the Doctor and Rose watching him die once, going back to the same point again and then saving him right in front of themselves. The fact they were there twice and saw two different versions of the same event and that the first pair then disappear and no longer exist meant that it was a paradox within a paradox, in that why would she come back and save him if she never knew he would die? And how could she be there twice and remember it two different ways? The reapers only appeared because of how fractured that moment was. No plot hole there.

    • @Preceyese-Seyeght

    the metacrisis doctor would have the memories of the doctor during the christmas invasion and before then. the doctor during the christmas invasion was all 'no second chances' so this doctor is like that too. which is why he committed the genocide (even tho, technically they all survive anyway) and regressed back to how the ninth doctor was before he met rose, thus rose will make him better once more

      The 14thDoctor You see Clara inside the casing at the end of the episode. Daleks were originally designed to hold humanoids (Kaleds) anyway. Episodes like The Witches Familiar and the very first Dalek story from the 60s make it clear that the Dalek casing changes the persons voice into a Dalek sounding one. Her internal radio would not be affected by that.

It doesn't make sense in the episode specifically but more in the one that explains why she is the impossible girl when she goes into the beam, she is in his life and to help him and sorta guide him, so it makes sense that she could be in his head. • @jetstream222
      @jetstream222 6 років тому +6

      The reality bomb can't be made into actual reality, the problem is any universe in which it went off would destroy it's own walls preserving the event of the reality bomb going off, it would no longer be a local action separate from the infinite multiverse.
      You open up the previously sealed rooms in which the events were set in motion to take place, in it's own intact non-interfered reality all efforts to stop the bomb were successfully quelled by the daleks, it had already worked, in fact there are incalculable realities in which it does, with every possible lifeform as the culprit, but it's like the "if there's 1 universe in which the multiverse didn't exist then the multiverse can't exist" paradox.
      Every possible interaction of quarks, energy, and laws has, is, and will happen if left on it's own, except universes which corrupt the events transpiring and can no longer be considered a viable part of the infinite possible individual universes.

    • @rocketcon
      @rocketcon 6 років тому +2

      jetstream222 Simple explanation: The reality bomb did not work as Davros envisioned. Davros is not infallible, as he lost control of his own creations, the Daleks, which he was certain would obey only him. He may have claimed that his Reality Bomb could destroy the multiverse, but that doesn't mean he is right.

    10) the metacrisis doctor had the real tenth doctor's current memories, but not his personality- he hadn't actually lived through the events of series 2 (during which rose "fixed" him), he just had the memories of that time in his head, almost as though they were implanted in there without actually having experienced them. personality-wise, he was the same man he was during the christmas invasion
    9) maybe the silence's effect wears off? after all, by the time clara saw the footage it would've likely been decades after it was first broadcast. maybe it somehow only affected the billions of people who saw the original broadcast in 1969, and that was enough to eradicate them from earth?
    8) I think the most likely explanation is they found a descendant of danny and clara from an alternate timeline- at that point in the doctor and clara's timeline, maybe she WAS heading towards a life with danny. it's implied that missy was the one who killed danny, so maybe by the events of listen she hadn't made the decision to do so yet, and so the future hadn't altered to incorporate his death? time is always in flux
    7) the castle didn't temporally reset- it didn't revert back to an earlier point in time before the doctor first arrived. after he dies each time, the rooms physically move around back to how they were upon his arrival, but the contents of the castle still age and move through time normally. therefore, the water was filled with the doctor's skulls, and the wall didn't magically restore itself. each time he made it there it was a little more eroded, as we see in the episode
    6) the statue of liberty is a tricky one- I've never really understood or been able to explain how it moved, although I don't think "it's made of copper" is a reason against it being an angel (it's been revealed in doctor who that the daleks had a hand in building the empire state building, so why couldn't lady liberty actually not be copper? doctor who retcons stuff all the time, from it's own canon and from actual recorded history)
    5) I think the doctor is concentrating more on surviving the asylum- who cares who it is helping them, as long as they are? besides, I think his initial, fairly low-key reaction to oswin being a dalek suggests that he'd suspected it for a while
    4) you're really trying to make sense of his age? it's a running gag that he himself doesn't know how old he is (along with the writers)- they even address it in the day of the doctor
    3) the lack of reapers has always been a bit weird, although you can understand why the writers haven't used them since, because having massive bat things appear every time a paradox occurs in doctor who would get a bit old after a while. my headcanon is some higher being has taken the role of the time lords since the war, and so can deal with these kind of occurrences themselves without the use of reapers. maybe this soon after the end of the war they were still getting to grips with the whole solving paradoxes in the space-time continuum business, and so needed to employ reapers to do it for them?
    2) "one more paradox..." "would rip new york apart"
    1) just because in doctor who the multiverse theory is true, and thus there are infinite universes, that doesn't mean there is a universe for every scenario, i.e. a universe where the daleks succeeded. this isn't exclusively a doctor who plothole, it's an argument relating to multiverse theory as a whole. bit of a shit number 1 pick

    • @thekueken
      @thekueken 6 років тому +8

      Thank you!
      A few thoughts / additions:
      9) Clara *was* very much horrified (and unarmed!), but then again she's been travelling with the Doctor and would know by heart not to attack every beasty on sight, ESPECIALLY when she's on some sort of diplomatic mission. The Silence leave their order in someone's mind as an idea the subject believes he had on his own. But they can't order anything that e.g. obviously would go against someone's nature. Otherwise they wouldn't have had to take their sweet time to guide humanity for all those centuries to the point they would get what they wanted.
      7) The painting of Clara was also very much aged.
      6) Maybe, this was just an angel who took on the liking of Ms Liberty to guard over this area and time-loop.... Or not a "real" angel (I mean... that size!?) but rather a possessed object (kinda like the video-one that barely could 'angel' but still came to 'life' and managed to imprint on Amy). It's not a plot-hole when an entire, eternal species isn't explained past its sterotypes... And regarding to another bit addressed in the video: the Weeping Angels can be fooled into believing they are observed / not observed.
      5) Oswin was in denial and thought she was still human, so her projected voice over the intercom reflected that, because she had programmed it to sound like "her" (similar to how Missy later demonstrated with Clara the other way around, the Dalek casing being set to censor her to sound Dalek).
      4) also, the Doctor lies. Also, he did not travel time and space from his birth on. Also, he may round up or down whenever it fits the dialogue or context.
      3) The reapers were compared to "bacteria taking advantage of the wound". They are likely, but not a given. Also, maybe the swarm in "Fathers Day" was the last of them?
      2) Yes. Since he had read Amy's last page, he could not return to them without causing another paradox. Funfact: The Doctor eventually went back to 1990's New York ("The Return Of Doctor Mysterio") to straighten out the time distortions.
      1) An "internalised synchronous back-feed reversal loop" was used to stop the Reality Bomb. ...somehow the "reversal"-part of that term has me thinking, that at least part of the damage done across the universes has been, well, reversed. We'll never know. We only know of one lasting parallel universe in this show (?).

    I believe the explanation of the Doctor's age is that he started counting again from The War Doctor onwards. The Time War chronologically lasted somewhere near six hundred years, and then the Ninth Doctor wandered for a century before meeting Rose, then travelled off for another century after their second meeting, before leaving for a hundred years *again* when she turned down travelling in the TARDIS for the first time

    The Doctor's Age:
    900 years of Time and Space, meaning he (9th Doctor) is older than 900 years but has only been traveling time and space for 900 years. This means it could be the same continuity as classic Who. The 1st Doctor left Gallifrey whilst young and spent 900 traveling, this would be end of Classic Who/start of revival. When 10 is in he's life he would be from the end of 900 to before 1000. Then 11 starts around the 990-1000 mark, by the time 11 has finished his life (spent 300 years on Trenzalore) and regenerates to 12 he's over 2000. Meaning the 13th Doctor is in her 2500+.
    Don't forget that the time line of each doctor is different, regardless of how long or short they were the doctor for (our time). e.g The 4th Doctor was portrayed for 8 years and 11th for only 3, yet 11 has spent longer as the Doctor than 4 in terms of the timeline.

      High Voltage Of course I know the revival is a continuation of Classic Who.
      But after 54 years many aspects of the show are very confusing, Moffat describes the show as 'head-cannon' this is where is you can have what personally makes sense for you as cannon.
      I was just making a rough point of the Doctor's age going from the most recent episodes as they would be the most credible.

As such, they've gained the ability to temporarily, for lack of a better word, possess other statues to carry out their work, regardless of whether or not the statue is made of stone. The Statue of Liberty is made of copper, if I'm not mistaken. And one of the most frightening aspects of the Angels is that they can move faster than the human eye can see. So it's not completely out of the realm of Who possibility that the whole scene happened. This whole explanation is an anglamation of things explained in the ep itself and stuff Moffat supplied later. I know it's not the most air-tight or eloquent explanation (come on, it's Moffat) but it still is one.
      That's all I have to say for this. Feel free to contradict or supply anything I missed. Hope I helped.

      Paul Charles Morris It was. Still is. Which is why Moffat wanted to drive home the point just how powerful these Angels are. I know when you see this ep, you automatically compare these Angels to all the ones shown before. But the two aren't even on the same planet. It's why at the end the Doctor couldn't risk entering the paradox again. Because that one surviving Angel was powerful enough to set the whole thing in motion again. The only way to describe the Angels in this ep us that they're a new, ultra-powerful breed of Angels. Mate, I know the explanation is wonky at best but Whovians have always had to call in a huge amount of suspension of disbelief when it came Moffat's era. He wanted a way to permanently separate Amy, Rory and the Doctor. Said way was through a paradox, bc for all his disregard for Time Lord rules, the Doctor doesn't mess with paradoxes (to a certain amount). Maybe they could've tried with a new time-meddling species, but that ultimately might've been even more confusing. Moffat got away with it here bc there's never really been a power scale established for the Angels. Remember the one that could displace you in time through a TV screen?

    I always thought the permanent damaging of the wall in Heaven Sent was sort of self evident; the Doctor states that the rooms reset themselves to how they were at the *moment he arrived*. Assuming it takes more than two days for a reset to occur (the time it takes for the dying Doctor to crawl to the teleport and create a new version), that would mean that the castle would then update itself to how it was when the newest incarnation of the Doctor arrived. This would also explain why there are clues hidden around the castle, these are hints that the Doctor left himself close enough to that particular version's death that the castle then updates the default setting to include those details.

      Not BS. In the Doctor Who universe, paradox is a gradient. Small ones, the universe can adapt. Huge ones, the universe can’t.
      The Doctor (and others) can’t alter their own personal histories without risking breaking a fixed point in time.
      In Fires of Pompeii, it was a fixed point because (1) the Doctor caused it to happen and (2) the aliens would have teraformed the earth...wiping out humanity before it could colonize the stars. It was too massive a change to the timeline to NOT have horrible repercussions.

      Yes BS, because it is just a made up timey wimey paradox whatever that the writers can use whenever they feel like to explain away a plot hole. Just because it's been well thought out and makes sense in-universe, doesn't make it any less of a get out of jail free card for plot holes that has been overused by this point.

    I think there's a plot hole in Series 4's 'Turn Left'. In this episode we see what would happen had Donna not saved the Doctor's life in the 2006 Christmas Special 'The Runaway Bride'. This was after Series 2 and before Series 3, so that also means that everything that the Doctor had done in series 3 wouldn't have happened as well as Series 4 up to that episode. While the events of the 2006 Christmas special and those in the Series 3 episode 'Smith and Jones' are accounted for, as well as the events in 'Partners in Crime' and 'The Sontaran Stratagem' two-parter, historical episodes are not. Surely the world would have ended during the events of 'The Shakespeare Code' centuries earlier when the Carrionites broke through without the Doctor there to stop them. Surely in the 'Daleks in Manhattan' two-parter the Daleks would have taken over the world in the early 1900's without the Doctor being there to stop them. 'Human Nature' can be ignored as the Family of Blood were only ever on earth in that episode because they had followed the Doctor and that wouldn't have happened in this timeline. In Series 4 the world would have also likely ended in the historical episode 'The Fires of Pompeii', and there certainly would have been repercussions from 'The Unicorn and the Wasp' in history. So why is it that history still runs smoothly up to this point when the Doctor wasn't there to protect the Earth from all of those historical disasters? While I really love the episode, this plot hole has really played on my mind. It could be argued that these issues resolved themselves in other ways, but some are just too blaring to glaze over with that explanation, especially the Pompeii and Dalek episodes.

    A few you missed are:
    Turn Left- The Doctor somehow still being involved in the Racnoss's plan without Donna, even though it's only because he met her that he learnt something was going on and without the wedding how did he get the remote that caused his death.
    Journeys end - The Doctor doesn't die stopping his regeneration, when a time lord body dies, the cells destroy the old body and starts from scratch, hence the new face, repairing the old body isn't part of the process as it would be pointless. It would be like taking the effort to fix a broken phone only to immediately throw it away once it's fixed and buy a new one.
    The Time War- The time Lords have the power to erase entire species from existence, but don't do it to the Daleks. Instead they send the Doctor, a known Pacifist to do it in Genesis of the Daleks and no surprise he fails.
    Waters of mars- The Daleks don't kill Adelaide to stop humanities advancement of space travel. They shouldn't care about changing time since their whole plan would have rewritten their own personal history. If earth was destroyed in 2008 then they never would have conquered earth in the 22 century.

    Missed out all of the ones in Name of the Doctor. The Clara thing is a major plot hole. Like Name of the Doctor is based around one. Since we already met Clara in the asylum and in Victorian London, that means that his timeline has already been messed with and fixed, so when the GI enters his timestream, it should have no affect on him because from his point of view Clara has already saved him time and time again as it's fixed.

    • @thejamsterx
      @thejamsterx 6 років тому

      Not a plot hole. Time is in flux and can be rewritten. Remember that Adelaide Brooke was supposed to die on Mars? The doctor changes those events so that she dies on Earth instead. It's the same principle. And no, it's not until Clara jumps into his timeline that those events are cemented.

    • @alexhodgkinson6718
      @alexhodgkinson6718 6 років тому

      thejamsterx You don't understand at all. The Doctor met different versions of Clara already, meaning she's already been into his time stream in the timeline, and has always been in there. That means she's always been fighting the GI in his timeline, before the events of Name. So when the GI steps into his time stream, Clara is already in there, as is he, and always has been. So the universe SHOULDN'T be altered and he should either always be in pain, at all times, or never be in any pain.
      Just think about it for one second. This isn't like the Adelaide thing in the slightest.

    • @thejamsterx
      @thejamsterx 6 років тому

      So you're saying that the Clara travelling with the doctor doesn't need to jump into his time line because she has already done it? I think you're the one that doesn't understand.
      The only thing that matters is the present. There are multiple possible futures. Some of them might happen, some of them won't. Clara could chose not to jump into the timeline and the doctor would die.

    • @alexhodgkinson6718
      @alexhodgkinson6718 6 років тому

      thejamsterx No I'm not saying that at all. Oh my fucking god. I'm saying because she's already in all of his timeline, THIS Doctors timeline, it shouldn't change the universe or hurt the Doctor when the GI steps in. This Doctor has already met Clara in Asylum and Snowmen, meaning she's already affecting his timeline as he's living. I'm NOT saying she doesn't have to go into his timeline, I'm saying that BY LOGIC the GI wouldn't affect the universe or the Doctor by stepping in, because they've already always been there. Please think. It's an easy concept and you're missing he point so much.

    • @frostwalker7641
      @frostwalker7641 6 років тому +1

      I see what you mean, but at the same time I agree with thejamsterx. The doctor is in pain because at that moment, the modern Clara is still with him and hasn't stepped into his timeline. Yes, he's met Clara before, and she has saved him time and time again, but the GI is at that moment rewriting his timeline in the past. The doctor knows Clara has saved him already, and yet unless Clara jumped into the Doctor's timeline, then the events of the past (where she saved him) never happened, and his timeline is being rewritten. That's why he's in pain.

    I'm sorry but the majority of these are at most, unexplained or unfinished plots. That is not the same thing as a plot hole. More so, most of them have been subsequently explained, or just set up in way that your intelligence should come into play.
    Orson pink for example. At no point did they say he was a direct descendant of Danny's. YOU came to that conclusion. I dont have kids but I'm sure there's a chance some great, great, great, great nephew of mine might look just like me one day.
    Some of these can't even be described as unexplained plot points. For example Amy's goodbye. The doctor litteraly tells her he won't be able to come to her, and explains why. They are actually telling us that he can't go to her but you think it's a plot hole for why?
    Even the reapers, who says they haven't been back? Just because we don't see them again on screen doesn't mean it doesn't happen. We all know there's more to the doctors adventures than what we see on screen. Also that was very specific to messing with a fixed point in time. Something the doctor tries not to do, and although it has happened since this episode, time corrected itself.
    Terrible, terrible video.

    This is what I love about Doctor Who compared to other sci-fi series and movies. All of these are solved with either, "Time Lord technology, you wouldn't understand" or a dismissive wave coupled with, "Timey-wimey..."

    - Orson Pink would have been unwritten when Danny died
    - Every time Capaldi relives the wall he remembers more from the last time so gets a little further each time
    - Moffat’s got a get around for age, the Doctor lies, I hate that
    - The TARDIS can’t go back to around that time zone without tearing a hole in time (that was explained in the show...)

  • @anonymousreviewer2092

    Biggest plot hole: For 51 years, not a single Timelord or Time Lady changed gender and yet apparently according to the show in the last few years its a common occurrence.

    • @thejamsterx
      @thejamsterx 6 років тому +3

      *47 years. And could you explain what the plot hole is? A plot hole is something that cannot be explained. This doesn't need explaining, it's an addition to the lore. For 3 years, no Time Lords regenerated, is that a plot hole too?

    • @anonymousreviewer2092
      @anonymousreviewer2092 6 років тому +1

      thejamsterx It's not an addition to lore - it's an alteration which goes against establish lore and raises unanswerable questions. *51 years.

    • @thejamsterx
      @thejamsterx 6 років тому +1

      So is the concept of regeneration an alteration as well then?
      And please tell me what lore contradicts it.
      47 years. When Matt said "I'm a girl", even though it's a joke, it introduces the concept into the canon and is firmly cemented next year with the corsair. And not to mention Missy. So if you still say 51 years then you are just disputing facts and lying.

    • @anonymousreviewer2092
      @anonymousreviewer2092 6 років тому +1

      thejamsterx Nobody changes gender on screen for 51 years and it is always immediately assumed for 48 years that when anyone regenerates they will be the same gender afterwards (if you disagree I suggest you watch Planet of the Spiders). The whole "I'm a girl" is indeed a joke and only that.

    • @catinabox2878
      @catinabox2878 6 років тому +1

      I don't have a problem with the gender swap. It was inevitable. Who cares if it is a minor plot hole?
      But where did 47 years come from? If it's 47, then explain the 50th anniversary.

  • @anawinner

    The main one I remember catching is that the 11th doctor begins to regenerate the first time he is killed by the astronaut when it is made clear that the regeneration from 10th to 11th was his last one.

    Your last two suggestions have holes in them as well. In "The Angels Take Manhattan", the Doctor tried to travel to New York in the time period mention but the TARDIS was blocked from even entering it, which is why he said "I will never see you again" to Amy. Secondly, because the Reality Bomb was never detonated in this reality, it never reached the Medusa Cascade which would have caused all the parallell dimensions to collapse.

    • @thejamsterx
      @thejamsterx 6 років тому +1

      Do you know how the multiverse works? Every decision that you make creates a parallel universe. So there must be at least one universe where Davros succeeded and the reality bomb was set off, thereby destroying all other universes (including this one).

      So take the TARDIS somewhere else in the USA and get a train to NY. Whole thing was stupid.

    On the weeping angel sending Amy back in time, I think (I don't remember if this is right though) when they send something back in time, it messes up that timeline and makes it impossible to land into with a time machine

    I’ve noticed number 7 as well. In addition, where did the shovel come from? And why doesn’t the “I am in 12” go away?

  • @raydarable

    My theory for number 9 is that somehow the silence were edited out of the moon landing footage after it's initial airing somehow.

    • @dirtyberty
      @dirtyberty 5 років тому +1

      Or it could be because during the moon landing the silence say "you SHOULD kill us" and not you will kill us, they give a suggestion not a demand plus Clara is currently naked, unarmed and surrounded so she wouldn't try to fight them

    What’s great is that most of the plot holes are from Moffat’s era, making it hilarious and obvious that he is terrible.

    I am actually legit dissapointed that these weren't even remotely some sorta plot holes, but just details that USUALLY don't even need explanation since they're pretty obvious and self-explanatory.

    You missed the plot hole of the Doctor not recognising Missy and the plot hole of the 11th Doctor not becoming that dwarf thing when he was about to die.

    In regards to number 4:
    I’ve seen a few theory videos in the past, that’ve suggested the idea that the doctor did basically just lose count sometime whist he was number 8. Mostly due to lengthy amount of time that he supposedly spent in that incarnation. An so ever since then has just been counting again from 0, which is why he claimed to be 953 as number 7 in the classic series, but then only 900 as number 9.
    Which’d kinda make sense if u ask me...

      Didn't the 11th Doctor say once that he was so old that he couldn't remember if he was lying about his age? (I think it was when he was locked in a cell with the 10th Doctor and the war Doctor)

    • @gregw7029
      @gregw7029 6 років тому

      StillJustDreaming, yeah that’s true lol. It’s kinda an ambiguous statement tho. Just ‘cause he can’t remember if he’s lying or not, that’s not to say that he isn’t XD

    One plot hole that does exist but you never even mentioned is how the 11th Doctor manages to heal Rivers wrist in Angels Take Manhattan despite having no regelation energy left as he is on his last regeneration.

      It is called free choice, headcanon. Good episodes=cannon, bad episodes=failed tryouts. Don't include 50 years worth of accumulated shit in the canon.

    It just warms my heart Amy wrote more books because in the bells of Saint John episode you can see the book The Car reads saree Clara reads is written by Amelia Williams which is just awesome there's less and less references to her as a series goes on but there is a couple references after she dies dies kind of but it's heartwarming to me because I smiled when I saw it
