These are bedroom night tables and are the first phase in a complete bedroom set that includes a bed and dresser. They are made mostly from solid ash with some 1/4" plywood and solid walnut for accents. The style is modern with simple, clean lines and a minimum of decoration.
They have a single wide and shallow drawer and no lower shelf to collect clutter.

Wow! The drawers are SO beautiful!!
Loved that “floating dovetails” technique, I’m going to add that to drawers I’m currently making. That shadow line trick is also brilliant as there is absolutely no risk of tear out like there is with a router or table saw kerf

Nice! Ash is always a winner with me. Walnut accents just put it over the top. Congrats on getting hooked up with some companies. You deserve it.
Really beautiful, John -- stunning! The walnut accents are perfect! And when you consider the bulk of your tools are hand made, that makes your work even more special. I know you're primarily a power tool woodworker over hand tools, but I think a third category is needed in your case ... a hand-power tool user!

In reading through some comments, I can safely say these bed side tables are a hit. I think they are beautiful. The walnut accent band makes them, if you ask me.
I just bought that FTG blade a couple months ago. CMT is really pumping out the blades, and bits! I'll be taking advantage of the savings here for a much needed miter saw blade.

The dovetail being added after the drawers were assembled is very clever. That pretty much makes my dovetail jig obsolete.

I'm always impressed with not only your skill, but again many of your tools are hand made which I just think is true craftmanship. I will say I had to hold my head as you indicate the high cost of walnut, but then you whip out the Festool Domino.... Please John say it ain't so... That's like buying a Honda, but paying for a Mercedes. I still love your videos, but I thought you and I would hang tight, but hey, I'll put up with my biscuit jointer for a while longer.. Great project and video as always.
