This is what I am talking about. You can see you take pride in your work and it shows in the end every time. Damn near impossible to find people making videos doing this quality of work. Most is just "okay" to "pretty good" at best. This is the level I am looking for....and I appreciate you taking the time to make the videos. Probably a lot more work than reward for youtube. Thanks brother.
Thank you very much. Work vs reward is a tough one for sure.
Your work is phenomenal Mike. I also have a lot of tool envy. You should do a video about all your different finishing techniques and styles, I'd really like to know more about that aspect of your projects
*Children are the greatest thing in the world!!*
teach him your craft, dad. You will be so very proud that you did!
Thank you, I will
Love the Rush plug!!!! I listen to Red Barchetta at least 3 times a week. Never gets old. Oh, and nice project as well.
One of my all time favorite songs. I listen to it regularly as well.
Excellent work! I can see a coffee table like that one in my living room now.. 🤔. Sounds like you really enjoy your work. That's important.
Thank you. Yup, I enjoy my work.
Have to say, I just recently found your channel, and binge watched everything!
Your content is very enjoyable and fun to watch!
Thank you! :)
Thank you, you are kind.
agreed
Thank you!
Definitely inspiring to watch! I’m just trying to learn the basics, but I would love to be able to build something so nice and so professionally done as the products you manufacture. But I suppose I have to first build a shop. Ahhh... where to begin? Lol
Realizing this is an older video, still very cool and inspiring Mike! Love your work sir!
Glad you enjoyed it!
9:12p. Eastern Time in Jersey. Bored at work and trying to finish the last hr. in my shift. What to do but, go back and watch Mike's older videos!! Absolutely fantastic table Bud. But, I wouldn't expect anything less from you man. Hope all is well & Dirty Jersey out!!!
Thank you very much. So you were getting paid to watch UA-cam? Sign me up.
Очень хорошая работа !
Thank you.
Another first rate build and presentation.
Thank you very much.
I could watch this guy all day.
Thank you very much.
I’m a sucker for a perfectionist.....but a SKILLED Perfectionist.....Man!....doesn’t get any better! 😎 Great Video! Proud to be a subscriber! Have A Super Week!.....Gus
Thank you. Great to have you onboard.
Your videos are nice to watch. They have good content and they are also technically very well done. Good job.
Thank you for the kind words.
Great stuff. IMHO, your voice-overs are about the best on Ytube.
Thank you for the kind words! Its always difficult to know if you are on the right track when making a video. Positive feedback really helps me know I am going in the right direction.
So soothing
Thank you!
John Conklin he truly has the best videos but needs more of them lol
In the next couple months, I will be putting out more videos more often. Stay tuned.
Moving Pictures is my desert island album. Love your work and narration with your jokes and tips. Thanks Mike!
Moving Pictures may very well be my favorite album. Thank you.
I LOVE Rush! You, sir, have moved up a notch in my books. Fun fact, my first and only real concert I've ever been to was Rush 17 years ago. And now you know a little something about me.
Rush is the best. Thats a cool fact. I have seen Rush several times and they always did a great job.
love your work and ur videos..you have inspired me to build again..thank you and keep up the amazing work
Thank you, now get out to the shop.
I'm in here right now and going to build a canopy bed with hidden drawers
I like it!
Your videos are cerebral, interesting, and utter relaxing to watch.
I don't know if others have told you, but your voice, in particular, is darn good ASMR material. If only you did audiobooks. :)
Thank you Alex. I had never heard of ASMR, interesting topic for sure.
Wife and I have been shopping for entry tables and TV console/cabinets. Unbelievable how much they charge for crap made in Vietnam. We are having the hardest time finding quality and reasonably priced tables...and we are looking in the $1000-$2000 range. Your work is beautiful.
The furniture market is always interesting. Not an easy place to negotiate. Thank you.
I have often said, no matter how bad I'm feeling if I play Red Barchetta I feel better. I haven't been able to play it since Neil's passing. I will again someday, but not now. His Lyrics and Drumming has made him hero of mine since I was 16 in 1984.
Its one of my all time favorites. I've gone the other way, I have been listening to Rush all day everyday since Neil passed. I'm right there with you, he is a hero of mine as well. I was 10 when I first heard a Rush song. It was the song Freewill, I have been fan ever since.
Well, after writing my comment I put in Moving Pictures and Have been listening all day to their discography while making your Saw Horses. I did get quite a bit humidity around my eyes yet I had no control over it. I did not expect that.
I do love that band. I am so glad they shared their inner worlds with us.
Thank you as well, for putting togeather this channel.
I love watching you work, the voice-overs, the camera angles, the perfection of your work is just top-notch.
Keep doing what you are doing. I would love to work and learn this profession with you. You seem like a really nice guy.
Kudos from Portugal.
Christopher
Thank you very much Christopher.
Great work! Very interested in the work table build.
Thank you. Yup, I'm looking forward to building it.
Red Barchetta is definitely one of Rush's top songs. I fell in love with it back in high school in about 1981. What a great concept. Peart was ahead of his time in his thinking. I know Lee and Lifeson are credited as being writers along with Peart, but you can clearly tell Peart was the driver. It would be my dream come true to take a Barchetta for a spin across the countryside some day !! Nice table, by the way.
Thank you. Peart was truly a genius. He could write and play equally well, and was very good at both.
Another very high quality project. Thanks for posting
Thanks again!
Nicest coffee table design and build on the interweb thing.
And well done with the filming editing stuff.
New subber.....!!
Thank you so much. Great to have you on board.
Well done table and video! You’re the Bob Ross of woodworking.
Ha! Thank you. I grew up watching that guy.
I actually stopped this vid and opened another window and played Red Barchetta by Rush. Hell of a song. Rush is a little after my time in the rock and roll music world; the only thing I ever listened to by Rush was a song called "Trees." I always thought that was great.
Thats great to hear. Rush is a neat band with very thoughtful songs. Trees is one of my very favorite.
Man, have been really enjoying your videos (just found your channel recently) and now just realized you are a Rush fan!! You’re my new damn hero!! Build on... look forward to your videos.
Thank you very much. Rush is the best! I'll have another video out soon.
Another cool build. Should do one w/o the drawer handle. More of a concealed drawer. I’ll bet you’re the king of “dad jokes” also lol seem like you’d be an alright guy to work around in the shop. 👍🏼👍🏼
I agree. Touch latch would be cool. The handles were at the request of the customer. The king of dad jokes was my dad, that guy could tell jokes off the top of his head for hours! I'd like to think I'd be a good guy to work with. I've spent pretty much my entire career working alone.
As a Canadian, I commend you on your choice in music. Oh and great table. Always enjoy your work.
I love Canada! and yes, Canadians are proud of Rush as you guys should be. I have been very lucky in my life to be able to travel extensively throughout the western half of Canada, it is so beautiful. I hope to go back one day.
We'll have it all tidy and ready for you, eh!
Ha, I bet.
I was going to say that lol
The only thing I would have done differently is absolutely nothing! That was a gorgeous piece you designed and created. Way to go!
Thank you so much!
I find your calm demeanor very relaxing. Nice builds.
Thank you very much.
I love it!!! You are too perfect, I wish I could have all your equipment 😏
Thank you.
You put your tools away? I'm gonna have to try that one day.
Sort of, I tend to take one out, set it somewhere, take another out, etc. Then I get frustrated when I can find something, then its time for cleanup.
I really, really enjoyed the little knowledge bombs you drop on the products and techniques as you go through the build. Great work.
Thank you very much.
New sub - just for being a huge Rush fan!! I’ve been one too (since 1974). Great build and video…thanks!
Thank you. Welcome aboard.
Loved it again. Was forced to listen to rush by my dad extremely loud my whole childhood. Sorted for today’s music choice thank you!
Thank you. Ha! Your dad has good taste in music! Maybe just a little lower volume.
I subscribed because of your smart ass and sarcastic tone. 💙
Who me? Thank you, great to have you onboard.
The coffee table is just excellent! I appreciate the beauty of the piece as well as all your great pro tips.
Thank you very much. Happy to hear you like the pro tips.
Just ... wow
You make beautiful things and I appreciate watching you work.
Thank you very much!
Just recently, within the last week, discovered your videos. I really appreciate your attention to detail! Thank you for taking the time to share your craft and skill with the world.
Thank you very much. Happy to hear you like the videos.
So many little tips said and observed, appreciate it.
Thank you very much.
Beautiful quality work. It's great seeing the way jigs improve the speed and accuracy of the build. At least your wife knows not to scare you when you have a powertool in your hand!
Thank you. Jigs are super important for accurate work. Yes, my wife knows to not tap me on the shoulder when I'm cutting something.
Another excellent video. I appreciate your communication style and exceptional craftsmanship, and loved hearing that my all time favorite band got a plug! A song about a car, and a video about a table!
Thank you. Rush is the best. When you write "A song about a car", it takes me right to the Exit stage left album, where Geddy intros the song.
props to him for responding to each and every comment
Would it be funny if I didn't respond to this comment?
@@MikeFarrington it would be funny, lmao nice
@@davidmarquez5513 Ha!
Rush is awesome. Love watching your builds, there are always great.
Thank you.
That is one of my favorite Rush songs as well. That whole album is great. Tried to learn most of the bass lines for those songs.
I think their best Album. Not an easy song to learn.
Very nice. I like how you go over what you are doing in a way you can understand.
Thank you. Its great to hear my presentations are understandable.
I like everything about this table. Simplicity, clean lines and the stain fit together perfectly.
Thank you very much.
Do you EVER build something that doesn't turn out...."pretty good"? Wonderful craftsmanship Mike.
Once in a while.
Nice build. Thanks. That moment when somebody comes in and you suddenly become aware somebody is there - it often scares me out of my wits! Look forward to the torsion box workbench. I only started looking for a lift mechanism about a week ago. Cheers, David.
Thank you. I must be the easiest person in the world to sneak up on. When I'm working I'm in the zone. Torsion box build is on the way.
Beautiful piece and workmanship
Thank you very much.
Love the coffee table; it is so aesthetically pleasing.
Thank you very much.
Love your woodworking, video style and Rush as well. Was first mesmerized by them in High school (79-82).
Went to the first of many Rush concerts beginning with the Moving Pictures tour in 81. Red Barchetta is my favorite song on that album! Thanks for sharing your love of Rush and you woodworking skills!
Thank you. Rush has been my favorite band since I first heard them in about 1990, when I was just a kiddo.
Nice solid build & great commentary. Love the soft close & spring open hardware on the drawers. Nice touch.
Thank you.
You've got some of the best quality, most informative woodworking videos on UA-cam. Every piece I learn at least a couple tips or tricks, kudos for sharing with the community.
Thank you very much and thank you for watching.
Timely view for me, as the recent passing of Neil Peart last week.
This is such a good video
Thanks for sharing Mike.
Thank you. Yes, very unfortunate, he will be missed by many, myself included.
Enjoy watching your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
Can I just say how much I enjoy your great tips, teaching and humor!
Steak offer still stands!
I have been really enjoying your channel! Your love for what you do shows in your finished projects! I can tell every project gets the same care and attention to detail and quality, no matter if you have done it many times before! You have great appreciation for tools new and old as long as they are quality! I have been doing this for 35 years and it is really nice to have someone like you who is willing to take the time filming, editing and posting to share the craft! Thanks so much for bringing us along!
Thank you. One thing I try to do is a good job on each job, if that makes sense. I am happy to hear that shows through. That is my mission, to share this craft.
I've loved Rush my entire life. 25 concerts in total and, coincidentally, Red Barchetta is my favorite Rush song of all time. I listen to them DAILY. So sad they are finished now. Love your videos. Love your shop. Hope to one day have one that big. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you. Rush is great, I have seen them a bunch, but probably not 25 times. I don't know which my favorite song is, but Red Barchetta is up there. I'm bummed that they are done, but I am really happy with the way they quit. Much better than other bands who have final tours 10 different times.
Wonderful finish! I love the mat look and the color. Makes it look so sturdy and solid.
Thank you very much.
Thanks for all of your tips, they are really informative and helpful. I’ve learned quite a bit watching your videos.
Thank you. That is really nice to hear.
Your work is awesome! That table saw is badass as well!
Thank you.
i love this guy.wish he would share his tools for a day.his shop is so cool.keep the great vids coming mike.
Thank you very much.
Wow. Nicely done. I love your attention to detail and the way you explain yourself. I'm glad I found your channel.
Thank you, you're very kind. Great to have you on board.
You're one of the best Mike. Your glue management is spot on. I hate this sloppy glue, all dripping out -trend many folks apply.
Love your vids. Keep it up!
Thank you. I hear you. I watch tons of videos where there is glue everywhere. I don't get it.
From a fellow Denver-ite, your videos are great! I'm fairly new to woodworking and really enjoy watching these videos. Thank you for the great tips and tricks. My favorite part has to be the Rush shout out though. Nothing better than woodworking while air drumming to some work from Mr. Peart... BEST BAND EVER!!!!
Thank you very much. Rush is truly one of the best.
Yes they are! If you ever need a 2nd apprentice or intern let me know.
Thank you.
Turned out awesome!!! Waiting for your assembly table top build. Congrats.
I will be building a new top soon. Stay tuned! Thank you for watching.
I really enjoy watching your videos, they are as informative as they are entertaining.
Thank you very much, informative and entertaining is exactly what I am going for!
Beautifully done. Commentary, editing, and lighting is perfect. Your shop size and layout is awesome. Last but not least, your coffee table came out great.
Thank you very much.
A very fine piece of furniture.
Thank you.
You have definitely become my favorite woodworking channel. Your shop and skills are fantastic... Beautiful piece of furniture.
Thank you very much for the kind words.
Excellent job. Love working with alder. You have an amazing shop.
Thank you very much.
Just came across you and I’ve watched several of your videos. I have found them very helpful and I appreciate the quality of your work. Thank you for sharing your craftsmanship with us.
Welcome aboard!
Really nice job. I don't often get to see this level of professionalism, and it's informative and entertaining.
Thank you very much.
Great album. Love Rush. Love your vids as well. Great work.
Thank you very much.
Just discovered your channel recently. Really enjoy your style of building, explaining why and how you do things. Your content is great. I can see you are a very lucky man all the way around.
Thank you very much John.
As a beginner to woodworking this certainly provides something to aspire to! Fantastic build and great channel ✌️👍👍

Looks awesome! You could build anything very accurate in your shop! Thank you.
Thank you. I'd like to think I can, but thats probably just in my head.
Gorgeous! I just found your channel, and am binge watching everything!
Thank you very much. Let me know what you think.
GREAT BUILD ! Beautiful !
Thank you.
Very nice job mate. Btw I was confused by what a draw box adjuster did until you explained it, thanks. I'd love to have a workshop like yours, top notch. I'm trying to replicate similar jobs from outside people's houses with portable tools. Your videos are great, thanks.
Thank you very much.
Seu talento é fantástico Mike, parabéns!!
Thank you very much.
Wonderful clean lines and perfect proportion ... again. Keep up the great work Mike, I love seeing these amazing works come together every time.
Thank you very much. Will do.
Nice looking and functional piece of furniture. Top notch video and skills. Thanks for sharing your work. The album you mentioned Rocks... YYZ 🤯
Thank you. Rush is the best, YYZ is truly one of the greatest rock songs ever made, and I don't throw those terms around often. I couldn't tell you how many times I have heard that song and album for that matter, it never gets old.
Your content is the best on UA-cam. Your projects are flawless. Thanks for sharing man! Truly inspiring.
Wow, thank you very much. I'll keep posting if you keep watching.
absolutely awesome work Mike!
That black stain and satin finish is a blast.
Thank you very much.
Really fantastic workmanship and attention to detail. I love your vids, and hope you send us more soon!
Thank you very much. Yes, more on the way.
Fantastic as always. You're a true professional and it shows
Thank you much!
I just want to be a fly on your wall, no questions just observe you as you work on a project start to finish!!
Ha! Thank you. That would reveal my horrible singing voice.
Great videos Mike. Keep them coming. I'm in the same profession and I like seeing how others do things. Thanks again.
Its always nice to evaluate other methods of work. Hopefully watching my vids offers some value to you. Thank you.
I love that finish.
Thank you.
