*Walnut has been my go to wood.* I set up a nice amateur wood workshop in my garage after we raised our kids. Then I got to severely hurt to ever really use it. I build two wine an glasses display cases for my wife and daughter and that was it. Life as a volunteer fire fighter and full time First Responder EMT took its toll. I donated everything so others could use and enjoy it. Now, I live vicariously through your videos. Thanks 👍🏻

I am an HVAC technician so I get it. Thanks for providing for someone else, there are so many youtubers or just people in general that could donate their old tools to someone else that it is crazy. Unfortunately for so many people that usually does not happen.

I'm 52 today. 40 years ago someone from some organization or other gave me a bunch of tools with no instructions. I just wanted to comment to say thank you for doing that. For me, it got me into technical theatre in grade 9. I stuck with it for 15 years. Put on some great shows. Got to work for some great bands who worked the college circuit from '99 - 2k. My family and I just moved into a new house after flipping the first one. We now have a 22'x25' heated garage with matching his and her's work benches. The last thing I did before we moved was to donate all my old tools. I just started on a pinball machine that I hope to build for under $70k. Cheers!

I'm a woodturner and love all of your cut off pieces, Makes me cry to see how much really beautiful pieces are tossed into the firewood bin. Your work is amazing and I often think how a turned base or legs would work with these gorgeous tables you create. Keep up the great work and if you have scraps that you want to sell let me pay for shipping I would be glad to get them.

Also, it was fun seeing you tackle the aluminum in the other version. Thanks for consistently being real and encouraging when tackling new and different materials and skills. It makes it less daunting for me to tackle the unfamiliar.

The Mappa table is just awesome. I'm about to embark on my first table making and I think I will utilize this for inspiration. It will be the first Loco Mokko (Loco: Crazy [spanish], Mokko: Woodworking [Japanese]). We're just getting our shop set up to get started in the countryside of Japan, and I'm a little crazy. Can't wait! Our first top will probably be made from Pear Wood. Scott From Japan

I’ve got a old table saw, jig saw, circular saw, miter saw and a hand router. I can be pretty dangerous with just those basic tools. I fabricate metal for a living so doing work with dead tree carcasses is a different beast. I’m about to build a sled for my table saw to start doing some basic jointery. Watching videos like this get me exited to start building some beautiful wood stuff.

Walnut is definitely gorgeous, and with that thick shelf it turned out great... however... I'm more of a fan of the mappa burl top. Love the contrast between the woods and any kind of burl feels so unique in its own right that I would choose that one given the choice. Great builds!
