American Live at the Hollywood bowl interests me! ❤
Niiiiice! Great venue - a lot of good live recordings from there over the years!
Awesome video Chance! Wow am i excited! 1 release i never thought I’d have on vinyl and the hidden gem of this RSD , Malfunkshun- Return to Olympus! The rest of the list has a few good selections but this one I’ve wanted forever! I actually have it on cassette and it was rare even in the early 90’s👍🤘🤘
Thanks man! I’ll hafta check into that one myself, thanks for sharing!
@@ConcertBuddie it’s Andrew Wood’s band before Mother Love Bone🤘🤘
Just a few things caught my eye. The Bottle Rockets, Fetchin Bones, the Sweethearts of the Rodeo live, but as usual nothing to motivate this old geezer to get up early and drive to the city. But I might try to get a couple of these after the fact. Sorry you had the weird interruption on your stream tonight. Everything was going so well until then. But don't let it bother you, these things happen. Have a great weekend my friend.
You know The Bottle Rockets?!? Bonus points for you Mr Elliott!
@@ConcertBuddie I've got a couple of their CDs from back in the 90s I guess it was. I like their sound, can't remember how I first heard about them?
@@elliottcrews4997 they kind of fit (a little) in that "Americana" vibe. Maybe they opened for a band like that you saw once before? They were founded a few towns over from where I grew up.
Thanks for sharing the list. I saw a few that caught my attention. Devin the Dude (Acoustic), Murder Was The Case of course and maybe one more. I’ll have to go through it again. Thanks again 👍🏽
Thoughts on the “Murder Was The Case” reissue? Already have an OG, but tempted
@@ConcertBuddie I bought the CD when it was first released but never had a vinyl copy, and anytime I saw someone selling one they always wanted more than I was willing to pay but with 9000 copies coming 😂 this is my chance. There was a lot of songs that I liked on it besides Dre and Cube but that song is still a banger for sure.
There is always a generational thing on what excites us on RSD. But I guess I can say that about every record release. Nice to see your take on some of the titles. There are some good releases on the list.
Agreed. Credit to you for being the first video out there today - got my ass in gear to beat the inevitable avalanche 🏔️
Actually, I didn't know mine was first??? I just want to say fu$k and shitty picture discs first. @@ConcertBuddie
@mazzysmusic well, first one to me. That’s what matters 😎🍸🤠
@@ConcertBuddieMazzy is always first.
@@vinylrichie007 always.
Thank so much! Need a little time, see you tonight
See you this eve sir!
Nice work man.
“Come eat at the trough” lol.
Some titles of interest for sure.
Feast! 🍽️
For Record Store Day, check out “The Bodysnatchers” EP on RidingEasy Records. Remastered from the band’s 1978 release. Austin’s first recorded punk band. Great songs, powerful sound. Recorded and mixed live to 2tk analog tape at Pecan St. Studios.
Appreciate the heads up!
Hey Chance. I gotta admit the Ricola thing made me laugh, but the number of titles I saw and thought, “ooo!”, usually turned out to be pic discs. So sad… Not a terrible list, but also nothing that’d get me in line at 4:00 am. Appreciate you going through the list, nonetheless. Thanks, Chance!
The curse of the picture discs...continues. The sequel(s) NOBODY asked for!
@@ConcertBuddie Ha! 😂 I know I didn’t, and you didn’t, so what gives? Let’s not forget the Sabbath box set put out not too long ago that I’m sure the majority of os saw and immediately thought, “f*ck yeah!”. Only to be disappointed it was a box of picture discs…. 😢
Chance there are alot of nice records you mentioned . I'd be interested in some of those
Let’s get you to an RSD event at your local indie shop!
I want that DuncanSheik album!!.. maybe cranberries and collective soul
NINETEES 4 LIFE - love it, brotha!
Killer video bro
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I’ve only had a chance to glance at the list at work so haven’t been able to really dig into it. I see some good stuff though, Collective Soul and Chris Issak for sure. I spend some time the next day or two and make a video.
Looking forward to hearing your take K 🤘🏻
Looking forward to hearing your take K 🤘🏻
I wonder if they're gonna put the giant rolling paper in the up in smoke like they did when it came out
Hey Rod! I thought that was “The Wedding Album”? Or was it both?
Excellent quick dive boss. I am thinking Gorillaz, Buckley, Parliament, & prob Ramones...now which local to arrive early at? 🧐
I tend to go to whoever opens first (had been Euclid), then swing by Planet Score, and round out at VV if I still have things to grab the others didn’t have. But that’s just me 🤷🏻♂️😁
ty, will keep an eye out for you@@ConcertBuddie
I would’ve liked to see Damon take a Gorillaz style approach for the RSD Parklife. I don’t know how much extra material there is besides random live footage, but the album deserves a lot better than a hot gimmick. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into a habit, like it has done for the Cure.
I dig where your head’s at on this Sava. The Cure & RSD in particularly…don’t get me started 😂
I am waiting to be the last but definitive look at the list. Greatest album on the list is Rain Parade! It desperately needed a reissue and I end a cover. Talking heads did have a live album in the last 70s, it was okay
Where will you be for this RSD? Denver? Twist & Shout? Gotta plan these things out 😁
Second that on Rain Parade. I think they could have done something far more special with Blur’s Parklife. Maybe that comes later in a general release (great video - Chance!)
@@therevrockinrollin thanks Rev! 🙏🏻
Being a pro at grading records I would need to check them out first.. 😂😂
🤣🤣 Totally understand Johnny!
I recently attended a classical show where there was some guy calling himself Concerto Buddie. Not sure what he was doing though.
Game recognizes game. 🏆
According to some I need more friends. Chauncey, will you be my friend?
@@ConcertBuddie Sure. You must visit L.A. where I can show you what remains of the Olympic Auditorium. I believe it is now a church.
@chaunceyphillips done and done
this is the most interested ive been in RSD for a long time- Bowie, Dr John, Westbound Comp, Rocky Horror Demos, U2 10inch... sign me up!
Definitely growing on me each time I look it over. Already better than RSDBF was!
Barbie/Beatles fans of the world rejoice! 😁 thanks Buddie for keeping me in the loop
😂😂 You hit it right on the head! The troughs are full for feeding! 🐴
I think there is more on this list than in previous. I am looking at the Gandolph, Talking Heads, North Mississippi Allstars and Jazz Dispensary.
I agree. The more I look at the list, I see things I’m warning to. Do you have the other previous Jazz Dispensary titles?
@ConcertBuddie I have the previous 4 or 5. I missed last RSDBF which was supposed to be pretty good.
Don't get Trampled Underfoot by RSD24........... Acid King, PEARL JAM !!! .... Tesla, Thin Lizzy, Voivod, Yardbirds ....maybe Yes, Dwight Yoakum, Neil Young, Frank Zappa. PJ is the only must have !!!
Getting both the 10C and RSD this year? You might rub off on me then 😂
@@ConcertBuddie yup pre-order everything pretty much 45 is on the way 😁
I had a great experience with newly recycled vinyl copies of pop records (new albums from Coldplay and Ed Sheeran) and they are both nice quiet pressings. Don’t write off recycled vinyl just yet.
This is encouraging news. I’d like to think it’s gotten better since the big recycled craze of the latter 70’s/80’s (oil embargo) and the sustainable-specific projects of the recent past, but still find myself gun shy of dipping my toes back in that water, so to speak. Thanks for sharing, and watching. 👍🏻
rhino records store Days 2024 UA-cam
Talking the shop in CA?
I thought the list was ok. I’m not blown away like everyone else. The new Pearl Jam and the Maricone soundtracks look good.
I figured PJ would be on your list 🤘🏻. What shop(s) do you frequent on RSD?
@@ConcertBuddie I go to Park Ave. If they are out I try the In Groove. What about you? Also, did you make any final decisions on your list? Also, UA-cam for some reason turned off my notifications last week and I missed your Live Stream. I fixed it now, so I will look for the next one.
@drop_the_needle_records YT doesn’t like me, I think 😂. Park Ave probably gets a decent amount of stock for RSD (just guessing from my lone visit there). For me, I’ll be doing a “loop” of my locals that starts with Euclid Records (that opens first), then hitting two others in close proximity. List isn’t half bad; the hard part is not buying too much 😬
@@ConcertBuddie That’s always the problem. Don’t buy too much.
the residents
hell yeah!
Talking heads did 2 official live LPS..
🙏🙏🙏
It may not be a popular take but I’m done with Jazz. Everybody Digs Bill Evans except me. Anyone that buys the 3” records is a sucker. This is 3 in a row Kiss Carr RSD releases. Different versions of the same thing.
I’m glad no one is talking about my #1 want. It should be easy for me to get after the fact.
Loose lips sink ships. Whatever that title is, I hope you get it VR. I know you’ll enjoy the shit out of that Pauly Shore title 😂
Fairly mediocre list to me at least. I am excited about the Zev Feldman releases, and actually the Harmonia could be cool (only 600 of those). Like you’re doing, I still need to digest some more. Totally agree the picture discs are a non-starter and unsurprised the Beatles cash grab continues😂
But they are 3” records! And it’s the Beatles! TAKE MY MONEY 😂😂
Goddamn picture disc's. Ugh... 😑
Preach. Hate them!
