I was a teen in the 80's and loved the whole New Wave music that was around at that era. I was a big fan of bands like The Cure, Simple Minds, Bauhaus and the sorts. 1984?... around that time the industry was completely saturated with 'Duran Duran/Bowie/A-ha' etc genre, Seona Dancing were so mainstream but maybe the commercial music market of the time already had its big names...not much has changed with mainstream these days in terms of copy cat artists, musicians etc, just the way it works..still I think they were good at it, sounded and looked very in tune with the 80's pop scene and great seeing Gervais in another life, apparently he had managed the brit pop band 'Suede' for a time, he eventually poked fun at himself in 'The Office' with David Brent performing and releasing cheesy pop music, good fun.
