I love that Molinard is a classy and classic French perfume house with a rich history and great collection of fragrances but they don't make their prices so high that only certain people can afford to buy and wear them. They keep them within reach for everyday people and that makes me a big fan...Loved the Outro! xoxox
Hi Sebastian. Based on your recommendation I went and ordered the Lavande one. My order came today and I was very surprised and pleased with how beautiful this fragrance smells. Thank you so much for always recommending good fragrances.
I was quite surprised you didn't include (and don't own) Molinard - Ambre. I own this one, and 'bang-for-your-buck', it's right up there. I sits proudly in my [amber] collection beside MFK - Grand Soir, Serge Lutens - Ambre Sultan, HdP - Ambre 114, and, Costume National 21. Really loved your photo montage. Thanks, Sebastian!
@@ThePerfumeGuy I'm sorry Sebastian, I didn't mean for it to come across that way. Your enormous and immense fragrance collection is truly something to behold, and I am in total awe of it (I didn't say jealous. Well, not out loud anyway)...and that is the reason I was surprised you don't own the aforementioned. Thank you for humoring me.
My aunt wore Habanita in the fifties and it was gorgeous on her. It’s much easier to find now and so affordable, I keep backups. Molinard is so underrated, I need to try more that I keep forgetting to order. 😊
.....will always ❤ my Habanita, Patchouli, Patchouli Intense, Chypre D'Orient, Vanille & Vanille Fruitée. Yep, I'm a fan 😆 Thanks for the Molinard outro!!!
Secret Sucre smells like cooked sugar? I’ve only been into fragrances for about a year and a half but I’m drawn to smells that remind me of times being raised by my grandma. Simple sugar, rhubarb, apples, lilacs and homemade soap to name a few. Might have to see if I can track down a sample of this. Thanks for the video!
Going to try their Patchouli based on your prior recommendation. No experience with brand. Fyi... received Guerlain Bois Mysterieux. .. blind buy ... based on your suggestion. Awesome !! Thank you. 👍👍
I adore Molinard. They're one of my favorite traditional French perfumeries. They continually produce niche quality, top-notch fragrances for a really affordable price. I've currently got Oud Magnetique, Lavande, and Vanille Patchouli. Love them all and will definitely be adding to the collection after watching your vid!
Loved the photos at the end. I’ve only tried Habinita, Lavander, Patchouli, and Patchouli from the Les Senteurs line. It’s a very dry, herbal patchouli. Comes in a beautiful box and bottle. Lavande is my favorite. I want to try them all…especially the fugue and musk (maybe…after this video it may be a bit too strong for my nose). I have some of the old, very old --like 80 year old solid perfumes from molinard…they’re still strong and Habanita is fantastic. More powerful and softer than the current formulation.
Wow, I'm actually a female and it was one of my first "grown up" perfumes, when I was a teenager. Rafale, with the shades of grey and turquoise box. I loved it!
Great insights! I've bought Lavande this January and I like it a lot, it's high quality. Fantastic affordable niche house considering most of them are 30-40 € here in the EU at discounters. P.S. They do change their bottle design quite often.
Great video. I have several Molinard fragrances. Patchouli, Jasmin, Violette, Lavande, Figue, Fleur d'Oranger, Musc, Chypre Charnel, Chypre d'Orient (very close to Diorella but much weaker), tubéreuse vertigineuse and Habanita. I love them all. I must try the others you mention😊. Thank you
I love the pictures at the end. I hope I get to Grasse soon. I love Habinita! I have a newer bottle of the edp and an older one. I also have an older bottle of the edt and it’s fantastic. I’m going to look for the patch vanilla. Thanks!
I find Caron too vanilla. I was pretty disappointed when I got that one in. Was hoping for that bracing lavender smell I get from Beau De Jour but instead of the (almost animalic) amber, a cozy vanilla. The vanilla isn't bad, it's just so dominant. I cannot wear it :( Molinard is such an intriguing brand but I've been avoiding it because of comparisons to Caron. Don't get me wrong, Caron is a great house (Yatagan is a top fragrance for me), but pour homme was not my cup o' tea. Love the videos.
I have Figue and it's green and kind of heavy on me. I wear it during the winter. My favourite of their house is Nirmala Le rêve. I also want to buy Osmanthus fragrance.
Couldn't thank you much for this video and although you did previous videos about molinard if am not mistaken but this one comes in handy coz I been eyeing this house for a while but every time I want to buy a fragrance from their collection I go to fragrantica to check the reviews and I get a lot of mixed reviews over every perfume from that house so I hold on from buying so at least now I know that I need to check Vanille patchouli for sure
I have about six mile an hour perfumes in the purple bottles and of course habanita which is an extraordinary fragrance and I'm about to try the habanita red
On me Figue is really long-lasting and quite strong. No doubt Vanille Patch is the best. I also have Levende and Ambre but these 2 are not necessarily for an everyday use.
Just got Molinard Musc. VERY disappointed! Sickeningly sweet. As you said, it's very heavy on the amber and patchouli with a very licorice-y/root beer smell. The musc is so overpowered by the other ones mentioned that it's almost not there at all!! Now that I have it, I don't want it to go to waste. Any suggestions on how I can counteract these notes?
No it doesn't have the orange blossom neroli thing happening in the Guimauve De Noel. I find Guimauve De Noel similar to Love Don't Be Shy by Kilian as discussed in this video: ua-cam.com/video/4yX5cNXbA5Y/v-deo.html
Have them on my radar a while ago but never pull the trigger. Heard that they aren’t long lasting. Wich of the violet bottle ones are leaning slightly feminine? Wich one can you recommend to start with?

I never comment on your pronunciations because, well, it's not about that, but just for fun I wanna mention that the "real" French way of pronouncing "Secret Sucre" is a fun sort of play on words or, more precisely, play on sounds, since the "t" in "Secret" isn't pronounced, thus the only difference between the two words is the first vowel. Someday, somewhere, I'll stumble across "the closest thing" to L'Occitan's Eau de Vetyver. I can tell from the notes profile that Molinard's won't be it, but, still, it sounds extremely inviting. I've learned to appreciate vetiver's wildly wide profile, figuring out how things that smell sooooo different from each other, from Terre d'Hermes Eau Vetiver Intense to Encre Noire to, yes, L'Occitan's, not to mention the (disappointing) Karl Lagerfeld Bois de Vetiver (vetiver practically not there), can all somehow still be "that", i.e., in some wildly remote sense "the same thing." Yes, I think I've trained my nose a bit to identify where "the same thing" is hiding in scents that aren't at ALL "the same thing." Quite significantly, L'Occitan's has never smelled the same to me since learning to identify vetiver in the others. I'm still mad for the L'Occitan but my nose isn't "virgin" anymore. Before "all this" started, I just loved "whatever this is I'm smelling" in the L'Occitan. Now, VETIVER nearly assaults my senses, with full consciousness, when I spray it on.

That can be said for Lalique and Boucheron too! … In my experience ☺️
