All right man. Let me throw a few things at you. We know that at the end of Chapter 1 Huggy Wuggy falls down into the abyss with no real knowledge of where he really went or if he truly did die. However, the only person that says we killed him was Poppy, yet how does SHE KNOW that we killed him? As far as I'm aware, she was still in the case. Could she have heard us? Was she maybe told by someone? There isn't a clear answer to how she would know that Huggy is dead. A lot of people upon hearing this just simply took it as fact without question. Next, I don't know if you covered this, but something didn't sit right with me about how nearly anytime we've encountered one of the different toys in each chapter, not a single one tries to just outright kill us. It doesn't make sense since we were obviously known by a few of the characters namely Miss Delight and Mommy Long Legs. Mommy even say 'if anybody deserves to die, it's you." And yet, she leads us onto a goose chase to get parts of the train code. Why even give us parts of the code in the first place when the plan was obviously just to kill us? Then there is Miss Delight who also recognizes us as an employee, yet tells us to leave for our own sake. Catnap may not have said he knew us, but he also tells us to leave playcare or else. Not a single time do they outright try to kill us. You could say that Catnap tried to at the beginning of Chapter 3, but it seemed more on the lines of taking out the trash than trying to kill us. Back to Mommy, she obviously was trying to kill us through the other toys, but when actually confronted by her, the main confrontation when she starts to chase us, she does the game of hide and seek with us, but only after telling us that she hates cheaters, even giving us time to get away. It kind of seemed like throughout it all she might have been testing us to see whether we could be trusted, while still showing malicious intent that we knew she had from her description in the file of her. Now, the last thing I have is this. Just who the heck are we, the player?! At the beginning and throughout the chapters we are reminded that we used to work there, in multiple locations. The farthest we know is the Playcare area. I think it's confirmed we mainly worked in the Playcare and maybe even beyond, as we were shown the hallucinations or most likely dreams of the past, when we were in Home Sweet Home watching kids play. It's possible that. in my opinion, that we worked as a caretaker, somebody who took care of the kids and didn't necessarily do the experiments. After all, not every employee was aware of the experiments happening, or in some cases the actual giant toys themselves as shown from the Jacksepticeye cameo. My guess is that we took care of the kids as an honest to goodness person, being on the lines of a guardian or even a big brother/sister would. However, I suspect that we learned about the experiments. Just like how a kid found out by accident about a kid being taken, thinking it was sickness. We also know from the ARGs from MOB Entertainment that some people found out about what happened and ultimately were killed because of it. We, the player, may have known about some of these people who may have said something to us about it. However, as the people suddenly disappeared or may have even hinted to us about what was really happening, we started to investigate. It's possible were learned of about the experiments, but knew that if we tried anything, we would get possibly caught, killed, or maybe even, TORTURED. Poppy even describes to us that we were tortured at some point by 'those monsters'. This may seem a little far fetched, but what if the reason why we the character don't utter a peep or anything at all is because we got caught, and to ensure we wouldn't say anything, cut out our tongue. And as another measure of security, our location of living was recorded and kept in file, so if we tried to send any messages or emails or anything, they would know where to find us. That could explain how we were sent a message and package at the start of Chapter 1 even though 10 years had passed. Our location was in the database. Also, because we were also ex-staff and let's say were really were just a caretaker, it could explain why none of the toys try to outright kill us, because we hadn't committed any of the sins that the other employes may have been committing. As a side note, CG5 came out with the music video "Deep Sleep". MOB Entertainment has the exact same song on their page, but with different visuals. What if the reason that there is two of them, not just to show visuals of both past and present, is also to represent two people singing the same kind of song. One being Catnap, the other being us the player. After all, the lines, 'if we had never done the things we did, if we had realized all our sins', could be referring to us the player, after we ourselves realized all our sins in doing the experiments.
Welp, here I my thoughts. I have more, but I don't want to cover the entirety of what I'm thinking just yet.

I also wanna add another theory that I think Rich 9:46 is our character. Mostly because we get vhs tape about him in every game. In Poppy playtime 1 we know that he was an employee.
In poppy playtime 2 we learn that he was transfered into sort of store room of toys because of his compliants. But in chapter 3 we learn that he was gonna promoted into a higher position. And also his care about Children (Don't YOU THINK THEY deserve SOME REAL SUNLIGHT he said in that tape). Our player character also care about children and known by other big toys. Mayb when rich got promoted then he learned about these bigger body initiative that's why everyone recognize our player or rich to be former employee.
Another point is in chapter 3 several times they say that we the player was absent during hour of joy. Mayb we was the reason why hour of joy happened we somehow helped in that (because we wanted to help the children) and escaped before the hour of joy (in chapter 1 during the last vhs tape the scientist mentions that todays event(hour of joy) was a flaw mayb we did that) thats why we come back years later because of our guilt.
Also I Don't think mob entertainment would add new vhs tape about a random character in every new chapter without any reason. Mayb It's our character origin that's why it is added in every chapter.

I think Stella also is a candidate for the player. Doesn't she show up in all the chapters too? Maybe she just did bad things and wants to return from guilt to make things right.

I would think The Doctor and Pierre used Ludwig's corpse to make him the Prototype just to keep him alive forever, and I'm not sure if Stella or Rich could be the Player. Also, Avery is an employee at Playtime Co. organizing boxes in the warehouse with Rich, it is NOT the last name of Rich.
Finally, someone else mentions Stella as a possible candidate for the player.
I actually think Eliot just wanted to make the family member alive, but this madman sawyer used it to his advantage and killed him or maybe the part of the eliot-prototype lore can be applied here and now he is in revenge spree because he didn't want what had happened to the children

Elliot Cannot Be the Prototype
Here's Why
1) Elliot Might have issues with the Dishonest employees and in the Hour of Joy the Prototype and the toys killed the employees and not the kids
2)Every bigger body was earlier a kid like Kissy Missy and Catnap and so on.
3) So if Ellit was the prototype he would not be waiting for them to die and take away their parts to build himself up
4) If Elliot was the prototype why did he kill Catnap??
5) You may say he wanted to end the sufferings of the poor orphans Then were the smiling critters not initially kids
then why was Dogday Tortured and later on eaten away at to be possesed
6) who are the ruined critters
(probably the unknown kids who were turned into toys .) and Dog day clearly said that these little toys all follow catnaps command to avoid that fate of Dogday
So definetly the Prototype had not revealed his motive of even harming the orphans
because as we know Catnap would be extremely defensive for the kids and if Catnap would have come to know that .. He would not Worship or even be a Part of HIM .
7) thats why catnap was killed by him because he had taken out dogday and other heretics except the player. and now he wants to set more bigger bodies against us which Catnap will never approve of considering his love for kids..

If someone missed my theory I’m leaving it down here:
My Poppy Playtime Lore Theory:
Our protagonist is Harley Sawyer or someone important that had something to do with the experiments:
In chapter 2 we go down a slide that brings us to a room. When we turn around we see 4 slides. 3 visible names of the heads of the innovation team and 1 completely purposely covered and ruined with the letters of the name everywhere on the floor. I believe it’s our protagonist’s name. (Still haven’t seen someone try to make a name out of the letters)
In chapter 3 The Hallways with the radio talking about a dead body of a child found outside the premises of the facility in a muffled bag with missing bones, spine and organs is actually what I suspect our protagonists doing before escaping the facility and leaving the bag to be found (because of our guilt) so people could realize what was going on in the facility. Catnap is the only creature with bones and a very visible Spine. He was the kid found in the muffled bag. The place is structured the same as in the infamous horror game ‘Silent Hill PT.’ It’s way to hint to us that this is our protagonist having PTSD going on having guilt trip while hallucinating his actions. The kids pictures are hallucinations of the children our protagonist knew and eventually transformed into toys. The prototype is making us experience the horrors that we created guiding us through the facility with VSH Tapes he purposely placed, using Poppy, and making us undo all our wrong doing making us kill all the toys/horrors we created along the way.
Who and what is the Prototype?:
The Prototype might be an amalgamation of different kids and employees. (Elliot Ludwig too) The same employees they wanted to get rid of. That explains the skeleton with the construction worker’s helmet. Catnap was tasked by the prototype to put Poppy in stasis with the poppy gas to keep her safe during the “Hour of joy” therefore not being able to do anything and listening to all the horrors while under the gas and vividly hallucinating everything. A Horrible Experience as she describes.
We find hung toys in catnap cell, and later on we see him scooping up a small Bunzo Bunny. It was Catnap who hung all the toys around the facility and outside poppy’s room, warning other toys not to get in that room therefore protecting Poppy from the the toys going berserk during the Hour of joy, as the Prototype asked. (He even placed the prototype’s introduction tape outside of her room).
In Chapter 3 we can find some “Baby Cots”:
The baby infants that disappeared got transformed into the small smiling critters that later crawl towards the player just like babies because they never got taught to walk.
Poppy’s Angel:
When Dogday refers to us as “Poppy’s Angel” because Poppy calls us like that, I think she is implying we are the Angel of death. In certain horror stories the Angel of death is attributed to serial killers or Surgeons (Doctors) Just like i suspect our protagonist, Harley Sawyer or a cruel surgeon that took part in the experiments.
At the end of chapter 3, Poppy and the prototype, lead us down to the Laboratories or as someone found out going through cut files, a “Prison” (a sign was found in beta version) she needs us down there “to kill the prototype”. We know the prototype was held in a cell, But how would the prototype still be trapped down there if the vault was sealed shut and we see him roam around the whole facility through all the chapters following us? Very suspicious. I think she and the prototype might be planning to bring us to the laboratories and use our body as a vessel (Just like in FNAF when our body gets scooped and occupied by the amalgamation, the prototype is an amalgamation too and he might be scooping the toys as Mommy Longlegs says to “make me part of him” so he can make everyone finally escape in a human body.) that’s why Poppy says: “we need you”.
The Protagonist’s PTSD:
The Screams we hear from pressings the buttons on the cardboard cutouts, might be flashbacks or some form of ptsd from when the protagonist was experimenting (transforming) the kids into the “smiling critters” while they where still conscious. We know that the gas triggered some memories and flashbacks visually and audible too. that explains why the smiling critters are talking directly to the protagonist. I think since the beginning of the game the cardboards don’t actually work and in reality they all Buzz or glitch like some that we find malfunctioning. The ones we are able to hear is because our PTSD triggers and flashbacks of the children our protagonist directly Experimented on. The Buzz or glitching of some cardboards is because our protagonist didn’t experiment on them and therefore it doesn’t trigger ptsd or direct memories that makes our protagonist hallucinate voices because we didn’t have direct connection with those experiments or children. The cardboard talking directly to us was a big clue.
Kissy Missy’s death and the return of Huggy Wuggy:
In Chapter 3 Kissy Missy turned blue for a good moment when she first catches us before being stopped by Poppy in chapter 3. It was a very weird purposely lighting color change.
I strongly believe that this is Mob Games hinting at us that Kissy was going to get killed by Huggy Wuggy. He’s back, he never died. Huggy has always been stalking us since the beginning of chapter 1. He crawls through vents to peek at the player (most people don’t notice this detail while playing) In chapter 2 you can find his “Furr”and blood next to some vents and walls. In the end of chapter 3 You can clearly hear Huggy’s jumpscare/attack scream. Kissy was not designed to be dangerous as Huggy Wuggy. Huggy was designed to be a Security System, meant to kill and have those sharp teeth. I don’t think kissy can even emit a sound or even open her mouth. It’s a bit far stretched but could it be possible that Kissy’s body is going to be used by a badly injured Huggy, to get revenge against us when we least expect it in the next upcoming chapters? (This would explain Kissy Missy’s suspicious color shift)
Who is Ollie?:
A mysterious and very suspicious character that sometimes refers as “We” for some reason.
All of us think he’s a surviving kid, but the math doesn’t add up, in the present time, when chapter 3 takes place, he should be 18 years old or more. Then why does he sound like a child? The only explanation is that he is a child in a toy’s body as well. He’s been watching us ever since we turned on the power of the facility in chapter 1. Spying on us through the CCTV cameras we see all around the facility, Opening doors and vents for us. Even back when Huggy Wuggy first chases us through the vent, he was closing doors not to get us killed but to make sure we reached poppy.
In Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 poster shows us the hand of the prototype ‘controlling’ Mommy Long Legs, therefore telling us ‘The Prototype Has Control Over Everything’
"That shrine, did it scare you? If you thought that was terrifying just wait until you see the real thing!" Ollie is admitting that he himself has seen the Prototype. (Because he is part of it)
I strongly believe Ollie is a voice/soul part of the amalgamation of the Prototype.
[Edit: Ollie might be the “Security System” that Elliot Ludwig, in the first VSH tape in Chapter 1, was referring to. An Artificial Intelligence, AI, or soul of a child) with access to all the security systems of the facilities.]

I've been thinking and here's my theory...
Let's say that Elliot is the prototype but, Poppy is his deased family member, why do I think this could be a posibility? True that the relative died in 1960 and the Poppy Doll was made in the 1950 but is our Poppy the very first one or was she a random doll used as a new body for the deased relative after its passing? Also Poppy was against the hour of joy plan, why did the prototype loked her up? Why dirin't he kill her with the others that dirin't obvey him? He just loked her knowing that she was against him and that she wanted to stop him at all cost, that doesn't make to much sence to me, also Mommy Long Legs could of have killed her but she dirin't, she could of have killed her at any time and pretend that she was still "alive" by I don't know use another Poppy Doll? Yeah I think there's something weird going on there

I kinda agree with the Elliott being Prototype theory since Elliott probably only wanted to bring back the one he lost and after Poppy's successful creation, he wanted the experiments to stop which likely links with Prototype's desire to stop the workers from collecting toy parts in Project Playtime but there's still many possibilities on Prototype true identity
Despite this, I still have the explanation that Stella did not know about the experiments in the factory because she might have thought that there were two catnaps of different sizes, so she called the larger catnap that way. I know it doesn't make sense, but I still want to believe that Stella didn't know about the experiments in the factory and that she is good. I'm still under the illusion that she's still alive xd

the time when Stoll recorded the final video was a month after his death.... HOW?!
Here's my timeline of what I think was going on: So, when Elliot Ludwig founded Playtime co. Everything was going great, toys were being made fast with so many sales. That was until Ludwig's daughter died in the 1960's. This caused him to go into a deep depression especially after releasing the Playcare. So, he decided to use his Daughter's Remnant/soul and put it in the Poppy doll he created. Which is why his neighbors reported him coming home at strange nights. Possibly due to him being depressed not knowing what to do to his life, but also possibly due to him working and trying to figure out how to put his daughter's remnant in a new body. But the higher ranked employees like Leith Pierre and Harley Sawer noticed Ludwig's plan, so they decided to use his strategies to turn the orphans of the Playcare into living toys to give to children. This hit Elliot like a train into bricks and he thought that what they were doing was messed up. So, he tried to shut down the company by himself. But higher ranked employees took advantaged of Elliot Ludwig's ownership maybe a distraction. Then that's when he died, possibly due to a heart attack of being old. So when Leith Pierre and Harley Sawer took chance to continue what they were doing until their sales rate started decreasing and they had a bunch of lawsuits. That's when Harley Sawyer came up with "the bigger bodies initiative". And I do believe that some employees of playtime were turned into toys not just because they wanted to be toys, but because they disagreed in what they were doing so they were killed and put inside a toy as their punishment. And it's also possible that random civilians outside of the company volunteer to participate in their experiments, but they have no Idea that they're being experimented as a lure and bait to turn more people besides orphans into toys. So now instead of just people and orphans being turned into toys just to be sold to other kids, they force labor on experiments that were once either adults or kids to work like the others. Which of course failed leading to the uprising of the hour of joy.

I think all employees just want to make money, and also cut costs. So thats why they create toys from living children. Probably so they can do the work, also look over the factory, guard the place or just for wonders and scientific creations.
At 10:21 this scientist does have a name, it's Dr. White and you can find this in chapter 3, 5th vhs tape where Dr. White is choosing a child name 'samuel lee' from play care. You can hear his voice, it's the same scientist voice that we already heard in chap 1 and 2 vhs tapes
Elliot is not the prototype. he responded to a letter about huggy escaping. That means he knew what was going on and that is not in line with 1006.
BUT Rich is. Always angry but cared for the children. Got promoted and found out what they were going to do with the "Bigger bodies initiative" and they turned him into the first "prototype"
Explains why we get a tape of him every chapter.

ellioth is not the prototype - ellioth created the poppy fluids that give life to toys.. (the rat experiment) the prototype is only an AI built for the extractions of the experiments.. but when sawer inserted the poppy fluid into the prototype after stealing it from Ellioth (trying to frame him by having dead children's bodies found in his rooms) the prototype become "alive and sentience" - Ellioth escaped from the factory and the scientists lost control of the big bodies toys (not having control over the bad effect that the awakened children had in the body of a toy)
I say that the prototype is the one who has the poppy fluid inside because... sawer told him "there is a great secret inside you" (the same secret as the factory and the experiments.) but since the prototype is a machine he asks sawer if he feels something while he kills children... (an AI learns by mimic and refines his techniques through experience) and the prototype, being in close contact with Sawer, has assimilated his psychopathy and agony
(in fact the plan to kill Ellioth failed.) Ellioth didn't show up at the "hour of joy" and we understand this from the audio messages left in the orphanage.. but this is just a theory- my theory!! 🎉

What if Sawyer got the Biger Bodies Innitiative from Greybur? Since the BBI (Bigger Bodies Innitiative) can make you almost immortal, (for example, Thomas had cancer, was about to die, butdue to the BBI he wasn't going to die again) maybe Sawyer took this "immortality" for his idea. Or maybe, Greybur was with Sawyer in the BBI. (Maybe, just maybe).

@ItsValerie210 yeah but since some people are theorizing that Elliott Ludwig is the prototype (which I personally don't believe that he is the prototype) instead I believe that he is Ollie and in Poppy Playtime there was a thing called "The Bigger Bodies Initiative" where they've turned anyone into a toy even brought people back to life like maybe Elliott Ludwig and if I recall correctly Elliott Ludwig's daughter was brought back to life even though we don't know her name yet but she's Poppy the red headed doll hopefully this helped you out a little bit
😢My theory: As we know poppy was daughter of elliot Ludwig and when she died she was turend into a doll thats when Ludwig got mad and when he offended the scientist who have done this they turned him into the prototype thats why Ludwig(prototype) doesn't kill poppy and sealed her because Ludwig killed everyone and poppy wanted to take revenge but Ludwig loved her and We as a employee who loved childrens like Ludwig helped Ludwig to take revenge and make hour of joy happen (we were absent that time) and when catnap tried to killed us and prototype saw us he killled him(catnap) because we helped prototype and same happened with mommy long legs as she stole poppy and tried to kill Us but huggy wuggy didn't killed us and didn't do anything to poppy basically we are back here to see what is going on there thats why we see guilt haunts you in hallucinations and I think all kids are safe with prototype and dog day was cutted half because he helped poppy and tried to offend us but didn't killed him as he was a kid to and leader of smiling clitters 😅😮

If my ,,Prison''-Theory is right, then it could be that Leith Pierre was the one, who made sure that the player was behind bars, but when he returned to Playtime company he saw the chaos left by ,,The Hour of joy''-massacre and that maybe explains why the Player and Leith Pierre survived.

Okay, time for new crazy theory I haven't seen yet.
What if we, the player, isn't Rich. Yes, he is a character that shows up in all the chapters but there is another I can think of that does the same, Stella.
Stella worked in the game station and in Playcare, coincidentally the places where a character says they recognize us. Mommy knows who we are, Miss Delight knows who we are, and Stella must have had contact with them.
Stella seemed to have a passion for children, be by making toys, helping with the games, or running the adoption center. She might have been involved deeply in the experiments, but the game talks a lot about returning from guilt, so maybe she regrets what she did.And although early theories suggest Stella was Poppy, I think that by the time Playcare was out and about Poppy was already made, so that takes that theory down.
Now, disclaimer: I haven't played the games, but I am quite interested in the lore. I may be missing some evidence or got some facts wrong. I have yet to find evidence that states the player is a male or a female. Maybe Rich is the player if the person playing is a guy and Stella the player if the person is a girl.
The point is, Stella feels like a character who would be able to hallucinate the children in Home Sweet Home, who would be able to be recognized by Mommy, who must have meet Miss Delight. Overall, I think it's a neet theory.

Wild theory : rowan actually DIDNT see a camera but it was mabye the prototype controlling him and convincing him there was a camera there, which led to his plan which would be the first attempt of trying to rebel against the employees. So basically rowan almost caused the hour of joy if the toys decided to murder (which they couldve pretty easily since they arent in their cells anymore then)
Why did it took 10 years for the player to come back to the factory, and I don’t think that player would just leave the company freely and forgetting their time at work. And I don’t think play co. would not let anyone quit that easily as they might leak information to the authorities.
They came back after 10 years to find out what happened to their coworkers, the orphans and possibly their friends.
What if during the time at the factory, they confront their boss about the poor treatment that they and the other workers had received from the higher ups but their bosses rudely dismissed it like it’s not his or her problem. The player confronts to their boss the second time but it’s public area away from the factory after finding out the experiments on the orphans accusing their boss hiding the truth. The situation got worse when the player started a fight with their bosses until the police got involved. Their boss lied the police by playing the victim which is why the player was the only one who was arrested. The player try to convince the police about what is happening with play co. the police did not believe them accusing that the player is lying to the police which make things worse and the company they worked out that falsely accused them on others they didn’t do which gives them a 10 year sentence in prison. To make sure the police wouldn’t do an investigation, the playtime company gave them hush money so they wouldn’t discover the experiments.
The player may end up in prison but they are lucky to miss the hour of joy.
