Hi Adam. It was great to meet you and say Hi on this years Moonrakers (2024) in Poole. Looking forward to more videos and seeing you on further events!
@@adamwatkins Originally from Harrogate, moved to N.Zealand 14 yes ago now Tasmania for past 3 years. Left me with a funny accent .!! Now addicted to seeking out grt piles of drt on my training rides. Appreciate your vlogs mate. Cheers.
Hi Adam!! For a great pile o dirt you should have gone through Thatchers' inadequate reroute which is a mud slide. I did it in the dark, had no idea how I stayed upright. 5G is a bike bell in Glasto ;) Great to see you at depart. Keep entertaining us!
Hi Fiona, thankfully the route I followed took the road at that point but at the time I was confused why we were leaving the "perfectly good" strawberry line but now I know why! Good job staying upright
@@adamwatkins yeah getting there thanks buddy, knee is still clicking and hip has pulled muscle but will heal in time 👍 bikes ok except for the forks, they have a crack in which meens I can't really ride it untill insurance pays me off, not sure how long that will take as they drag these things out, I did say the longer I have no bike the longer I'll be off work so it's in their interest to deal with the matter fast.
Hi Adam... what insulated jacket are you using to manage the wet cold please?? Just a standard synthetic as I mote you didn't have a waterproof over it. Appreciate the response and thanks for making the vid... Seen it in Faruqs Strava earlier today...
I use a cheap T k Max one but have a north face synthetic thermo boil,in extreme cold it’s what you need to stay alive ....just adding my experience...🥶🙂👍🏻
@@pedallinraw thanks for that... Yes, apparently when its extremely cold the waterproof isn't needed as it seldom rains. I have a Rab Microlight but don't trust it in the wet with the down issue. I'd heard synthetic retains its warmth when wet but hadn't realised it was this good. Next stop, synthetic (I suppose)
@@shafter164 Arcteryx looks good quality, may try one of those sometime 🤔Rab have a good following and review too,but yes insulated I’ve never had an issue with sweat or to hot...play around with base layer combinations and when you stop it’s just warm ...punctures not an issue 😬😊👍🏻
All night riding isn’t all shitz an giggles....I mean I enjoy it but soggy bib pads at 4am isn’t the best...😐....also I like the midnight to 3am part and have never liked it when it gets light ....I like those dark lanes with zero houses for miles and miles....✌🏻
Nice variety sometimes going all night. It's been a while for me. V lucky with the weather this time, seemed to dry up soon after the drizzle. 2 x volt 800s were plenty on 200lm setting
Great stuff! Glad you found that elusive 5G Tower! You didn't yell me about those Mince Pies! ( ua-cam.com/users/RichardLakeAudax ) Thank you for a great weekend - if your ever planning on riding in Lincolnshire just let me know.

You kept this punter very happy, bit hurt that you forgot about us at the Podimore service station though....
ugggh i know, lost my mind!!
"Cold kerb and a packet of biscuits"...living la Vida loca eh. Wicked ride and top vlog Adam.
The warm wild bean was a treat! How are you from Tasmania I thought Wiltshire with a Bristolian accent 😂

I was so busy concentrating in the dark and not on Garmin as it’s pretty familiar, until one realises it’s been changed!
Nice video, great ride, very inspiring. hope all is well yur end chap, ride safe
Cheers Luke hope you're good, van nick still strong?

I have never done a night ride, could be something i will have to add to the list, Great video Adam
Why not! We got to use a bunch of busy trunk roads but at night hardly any traffic 👍😁
Is that the Folk Implosion at 2.51? Niche musical reference.
But seriously, Colin the caterpillar, leg warmers and drum and bass, looks a good ride 👌🏻
Not a clue about folk but the rest was lush 🙂 considering bringing a speaker on long rides myself now
Absolute class Mr W.
Cheers Andrew 😁👍
Those aren't crows at about 11 minutes they're Jackdaws, very distinctive call.
Crazy ride, very impressive.
Jackdaws cool! Great sound coming from those guys, lady walking her dog also stopped to enjoy 👍👍
Was that the moon or a very tall street light! Its hard to tell on a flat earth 😉
Flashlight from Australia surely

Mines an alpkit one, they've changed the product name a few times but still should be a synthetic one in their store
Was that Chris Opie at 1:42? Unsubbed from his channel a while ago, which means A. Watkins was the biggest UA-cam celeb on that ride, in my book.
Ha yes Chris Opie rode too, made a video so that's at least 4i know of 😂
You've inspired me to go looking for a hornbeam.
I've since read they keep their leaves in winter so that might have been fake news
@@adamwatkins Oh no, not the Fool's Hornbeam ( again ) !
Is it best to start a 400km late in the day to get the night out of the way early in the ride?
Best time to start imo 🙂👌🏻
Probably some logic to that yes, but would you start having not just had a good sleep? 400s are really hard!
5G = home bargains 👍
