- Here's a quick hack that can bring your ac back to smelling fresh in just a few minutes. Breathing in bacteria/mold through your a/c isn't as cool as it sounds. Keep your a/c and your lungs happy with this simple hack.

Tried this tonight. I did what you said had to close up the car after 10 minutes. Fingers crossed that it works. I will drive around with the fan on only and windows down to air out the Lysol. Might take a few days. Thanks for the video!

Choose your scent wisely as you will be smelling it for a looooong time. Crisp Linen is about the least offensive choice. Works well.
I have a 2019 Durango. I changed the air filter twice and cleaned the engine and still smelled a bit. Never did the lysol challenge lol .
What if you dont take filters out? It shouldnt matter because water goes in it constantly and evaporator core shouldnt allow the liquid to hit filter??

I live in Las Vegas and I drive for Uber. The A/C in my 2018 Chevy Impala started smelling like vomit when I used it this season. The smell was so strong that I haven't driven in 2 weeks. I was about to change the cabin air filter before I looked up using a disinfectant. This method aired out my car overnight. The scent was a little strong at first but definitely better than the smell of vomit. Thank you.

if it still smells, buy an ac evaporator cleaner.
do check your filter tho, we bought a car and AC has a musty smell, and i checked tge filter and it looks like it was ran over on a highway. Ordered a new one and gonna do the lysol thing, hopefully goes well.

Why did u turn the AC off though, i thought it should be on to pump the cold air too ...
when ur finished with spraying and shutting the car down, than should the windows and doors be closed for 6 hours or open?
So do you just let the car sit wit the windows open for 4-6 hours?
I would recommend it just to be safe, but in a pinch I would open all the windows and leave it for as long as u can and drive with the windows down

No longer have the car, but for about 3 months following this video there was no smell!
That lysol will build up like glue and after a while it will smell worst. (For me at least)
There are videos that should you how to CLEAN you AC. Do that.
Haven’t had any issues so far, maybe dependent on the car(
Can you just run it on outside air or does it have to be a/c?
Run the AC, need the lysol to work w the system on

@@JS-te4gz I can’t say, I haven’t tried it. This trick with Lysol seemed to be all I needed, if anything just repeat the process if it smells again
@@AmrinDosanjh Thanks my smell is weird... exactly like manure with air heat or fresh air on ...not mildew smell. The car shops say mildew though. You ever smelled a manure smell from vents?
@@JS-te4gz My first step would be to remove all your filters and check them out. Engine air filter and cabin air filter
why the hood should be opened?
To access the plenum/the part where he sprayed the lysol into. Hood was covering it. It sucks in the air that provides you with air conditioning.
