Time to compare to your favorite basket - the wafo :)
I did out of curiosity. Wafo gives deeper notes and for light roast it would be difficult to beat. For medium it would be possible for Kafmasino to win maybe 2 out of 5 tries.
I'd love it if you reviewed their machine and did a comparison the the DE1! Thanks as always!
Thx for watching. I would love to review it as well but , even though it is affordable, it is too pricey for me.
Thank you so much for talking about coffee with milk. In Australia, I’d guess more than 90% of people order milk based coffees in cafes. That might not be the same in other countries but in Australia we are also the highest espresso machine owners by percentage in the world. So I think we’re a big market of espresso-milk coffee drinkers, with flat whites being our main thing, that generally get completely ignored by most UA-cam coffee influencers.
So please more of that, because no one else is doing it.
Thx for watching and sharing those interesting statistics. I don’t do many milk based drinks as my latte art sucks but maybe I will talk more about it in the future.
@@mycoffeeshow111 please do so. Theres lots of people doing latte art, but none of them talk about taste. There’s no need (like in this video) to show any latte art, but talking about what makes the best taste in flat whites taste better (grinder, burs, water temperature, basket, etc) is so lacking on UA-cam!
Love your easy to to follow, down to earth videos, keep up the good work! I'm just starting out with espresso and thinking of getting a precision basket. VST are too expensive for me so I've been looking at IMS. These seem like another good value option to consider.
Thx for watching. Those are surprisingly good, especially for medium roast. If you are looking for more traditional baskets, Pullman can also be an option.
I got two baskets you reviewed recently. Not the expensive ones. I previously used VST and IMS baskets. Big difference with the new baskets. Probably as big and even bigger than changing from SSP HU to SSP MP. Nice reviews.
Thx for watching. I am still surprised each time I change to a different filter basket, how much it can influence the taste. If you want to over complicate it, try over or under dosing- it will affect body and clarity of your shot.
Hope you get their espresso machine to test one day. I've just pre-ordered one! Would love to know how it compares to Decent. Great video as always ❤
Thx for watching. Please let me know how you like it when you get it. This is a small channel so I don’t expect much but who knows, maybe one day I’ll test it.
. Today for example I got a manual espresso machine from London based company. Unboxing is coming soon.
Thanks, great video !
Thx for watching!
Amazing - we had similar experiences with these baskets! I Was waiting for your take and see how they compared to my tasting
Great to hear that! Thx for watching
Thank you for the video! How are the workflow things with these - are they easy to insert, clean, etc.? When you dial the 4 in, how different are the grind sizes? Also would be good to see some extraction numbers to try and associate something quantitative with your taste descriptions. Finally, yes, please do compare them to whatever you can stomach. Maybe Wafo and Pesado? :)
Thx for watching. Last time I played with refractometer people were saying, I should just concentrate on the taste 😛
Next time refractometer will be back.
I recorded some short videos prior this one, showing a bit of workflow ect. As everything was normal, I simply didn’t comment on that. Will remember to do it in the future.
As for time of extraction, I had edited it out. In my initial test, if same grind settings were used, spiralo was the fastest, koncentra the slowest and the remaining 2 in between and about the same. With the coffee I used for the video though, it was all over the place. Therefore I didn’t want to confuse people and skipped that part.
Thank you! Out of curiosity, how do these compare to the 3Bomber BEP basket you recently reviewed?
Thx for watching. I haven’t compared them yet but it would be a very even battle
Wish you had displayed extraction yields as you usually do.
Well, last time I did, people were criticising me for that , saying I should concentrate on the taste itself. You can’t win here 😛 Next time I will use refractometer.
Maybe make one more video regarding extraction yields
@@mycoffeeshow111 Taste is more important, but EY is the only objective measurement we have easy access to 🙂 don't listen to the naysayers.
Keep up the good work. I think it's great that you've been sharing your own impressions while stressing that results can vary.
@@pravinlnrk maybe I should. I was a bit overwhelmed testing 4 baskets at the same time and thought that flavour notes would be more important. Looks like I was wrong.
@@jonas5666 thx for your kind words
Weber unibasket vs kafmasino ? Which one would be an absolute winner and which one value for money ?
I sold my Unibasket long time ago unfortunately but otherwise a very good idea.
What baskets do you recommend for light roast (not milk based, only pure espresso - I like fruity notes, mostly Kenya, Etiopia, Rwanda etc...)? I havent understood it from this video. Thanks, Milos, Slovakia.
Hi, Impeta would be the best for you, followed by Konkava. Impeta gives you the sharpest notes while Konkava tends to hit you with both fruity and deeper flavours.
@@mycoffeeshow111 Hi, thanks for quick response and good advice. One more question please. As Eureka Mignon Specialita and Ascaso Dream PID user a few days ago I bought and got Mazzer Philos and I am using two baskets: VST 18gram and IMS Superfine. Will I feel real taste difference when I buy Impeta and Konkava?
@@milos.sladecka Wow! How do you like your Mazzer? To answer your question, the difference should be noticeable. Will you like it, I don’t know. If you want something even better, Wafo Soe/Spirit is overall my favourite filler basket.
@@mycoffeeshow111 Thanks. I like my new Mazzer soooo much, it has everything I wanted from single dose grinder - workflow, taste (less bitterness than Eureka), retention...I clensed my Eureka every third weeek (2-3 espressos daily) and there was allways coffee inside (and I have blower and tilt base from Etsy), I had to do burr alignment .... And now Philos - I ran 2 kg of cheap coffee through it (burrs seasoning - and yes I know that Mazzer says that burrs are already seasoned) and when I opened the grinder, there was almost no coffee inside, it was so clean. It has a little bit vibration, but not too much. Again - I am sooo happy that I pulled the trigger and bought it, it will be my final grinder. And concerning baskets: have you ever tried IMS big bang baskets? This review claims they are very close to Wafo and yet are relatively cheap. medium.com/nerd-for-tech/ims-big-bang-espresso-filter-basket-fe06ab503f01
Koncentra vs Sworks vs Weber vs Pesado would be epic!
Would be interesting but I sold Unibasket and returned Sworks to the viewer who sent me one. Maybe I will buy one Sworks at some point as I really like them.
@@mycoffeeshow111 Thanks for the reply. For milk based, do you have an opinion on the best option?
@@paul--b I was thinking about it yesterday. Out of Kafmasino I would say Koncentra. If we talk about other baskets, I know Wafo and Sworks have dedicated models for that but simple IMS could also do well.
Jack the Basket King 👑
Hahaha, yeah!
Free baskets, now you've made it
Yeah, I have soo many now I could open up a shop 😛.
Where do you store all those filter baskets!?😂
Just like you, English is my 2nd language, so don't take this the wrong way... You say "pack screen"... Pack as in "wolf pack". It's actually "puck screen" like the other word I won't write on here. It should sound like "puck off" or "what the puck" if you get my drift 😅
Cheers!
Haha, I keep them in the drawer, with my socks.
Yeah, my kids laugh at the way I speak as well 😛
Looks like they only have 58mm won’t fit my breville 😢
I am sure if Kafmasino baskets become more popular, 54mm will become an option. They only introduced them this year.
@@mycoffeeshow111 but I’m impatient now 😂😂😂😂
@@Howie-bz5pe I had BBE at some point and I am not sure if the inbuilt grinder could grind fine enough for high flowing basket. You can try Pesado HE, they have 54mm available.
@@mycoffeeshow111 yeah I’m thinking about that too. I do have a k ultra and that can grind fine enough tho.
@@mycoffeeshow111 also thinking about new grinder I’m torn but leaning to df64 gen 2 for space reasons
Hi Jack maybe can try this way to drink more espresso n to see whats inside your extraction
mix shot time with double amount of water with 60c temperature ua-cam.com/video/qLPPVg9RjxA/v-deo.html
Thx for that. Very interesting. That is a reason I like to go for longer ratio, to open up the flavours more.
