We’re honestly incredibly lucky to have Style Refinement. Jenn is so observant and her tips go for things no one else has even addressed! She’s brilliant at this and I say that as someone who has been quietly improving their looks for like 2 decades. She notes things that I never even considered and they’re so important to the appearance. I’ll literally watch any video this channel posts
@@stylerefinement I’m only speaking the truth! You deserve all the fame and praise for your videos. I have a feeling this channel will blow up because people are starved for not just good but also fresh advice. By the way, is it Jen or Jenn? I just don’t want to spell it wrong 😊
Could you do a video on close-set eyes? Every article I've seen on making them less noticeable has said to put shimmer in the inner corners (opposite to what you just recommended), which as someone who prefers a natural/no makeup look if I wear any at all is not my favorite idea. Addressing the effects of close-set eyes in conjunction with a wide nose would also be helpful.
You must be reading some weird articles. Shimmer in the inner corners draws the attention to the inner corners. Thats the opposite of what you want if you have close-set eyes.
THANK YOU! Using your nose as a guideline never worked for me because my nose is asymmetrical. My eyebrow heads would start in two very different places if I were to do that. 😂
I absolutely loved the video and the explanation! My features are naturally soft - my eyes, jaw, and lips all have gentle contours, but I have a more prominent nose with a high bridge and a round center. I've always felt like my nose tends to dominate my face, especially since people often comment on how long and noticeable it is. I've also realized that dark eyebrows don’t suit me, especially when I draw the inner part too dark. I’ve found that keeping the start of my brows lighter and only defining the tails works best for me. Your video and the photos you provided really helped clarify my confusion about eyebrow shaping. 😭💓
Great video!!! Straight brows are the trend currently but it’s not for everyone. You’re right about it looking 2d. I have thick brows where I’m able to experiment with different shapes. (I always shave, never pluck so they can still grow back) While it does make one look more cutesy and dolly looking, it also doesn’t add any dimension. I have a round face and giving myself at least a slight arch helps!
U have no idea how much I love ur channel ❤ I love how u actually explain what effect things have and how it's not necessary for u to do that if u don't want that effect. Coz I followed different channels and their tips never worked for me leading me to think proportions are bs. Now I get why certain styles look horrible on me tho theyre proportionally correct.
I just bleached my eyebrows lighter. I have bangs which frame my eyes well, and I feel lightening the eyebrows accentuates my eyes makes them look bigger and rounder. I've always really struggled w my brows because they are so full, they have so much potential to be different thickness, shapes, lengths, arch.. sometimes when I cant pin what about them is bothering me, lightening them takes the pressure off for me to figure out how to get them just right lol.
I remember when I was in my 40s I would hear friends in their 50s say their eyebrows don’t grow back anymore. Now I’m in my 50s and the last time I got my brows waxed? I haven’t tweezed them since. Glad she was a great brow artist….
Sameeeee!!! I' m 53, my brows are like Brook Shields (sadly, only the brows😅) and I' ve always refused to pluck more than a few unibrow hairs and a couple on each lid. Last week, while applying lash serum, I realized that I don' t remember the last time I plucked them😳🤷🏻♀️.
A really interesting series. My eyebrows are a constant battle, I was told by a beauty therapist that my natural eyebrows at the top were not right 😂 and she tints them a one colour up for each client, which I think is odd.
It’s funny I learn a different mapping than you show 😆 but this mapping is use with Rihanna and everybody you show 😅 to determine the start of the eyebrow you made a fictive line start at the outside of our nose, pass by the inside corner of our eye and finish between our eyebrows. Like this the distance of your eyebrows vary with your nose and your eyes. I understand your point, IMO this can be a start if you don’t know where to start and ajust after.
My eyebrows are very full but very narrow. It's nigh impossible to make them look like any other shape because there's such clear delineation between where the hair grows and where it does not. 😢
If you make your eyebrow tails longer, your face will look wider, so that could make your nose look less wide and more proportional 😊 Also maybe elevating the arch? Because this gives elongation to the face. The more space you can give to your face, the less distracting your nose will look.
Thanks for the video❤️I have a round face that I'm trying to optically lengthen, so I'm rushing to check out a new eyebrow shape. Do you have any tips to make a hairstyle for a round face with a big forehead? Bangs don't work at all, because they make my face even wider.
My issue is that I don't have a lot of eyebrow hair to play around with & they also are light with an odd shape. I feel like I'm at a disadvantage genetic wise. Any tips on growing/darkening eyebrow hair?
I think the idea of calculating and measuring beauty is pathetic and boring like mathematics. Beauty is art, filled with feeling and freedom. And the best beauty choices are intuitive. Beauty is personal, but not everyone is beautiful. But anyone can make themselves look more stylish & cool at least, if not beautiful. But there are some exceptions to this rule that have to do with proportions and creating illusions - or getting some heavier beauty treatments than makeup and removing and coloring hair.
Art is full of math and precision and science. Just like life is full of art and beauty. I think anyone can be beautiful. It’s a state of the heart that reflects in the eyes and radiates into the world.

I love that you explain the reasons why and how all our facial features relate to each other, and what each change does to our overall look.
I was actually facing that problem.... Thank you ❤
Such great information! I’ve learned more on this channel about doing makeup for your face shape than any other. Thanks for such a great video!
That's so great to hear - thank you!!
The Miley Cyrus photoshop was a huge difference! You're on to something with these videos!

Unless the shimmer is skin-colored, I find it makes the area look more crowded!

This video explains why I like to do my brows the way I do, even though I'm technically doing it wrong!

As an architect i am laughing at these mapping tips, because no general rule can support the vast diversity of proportions and facial harmony.
Yes, you're right.
She did emphasize this, as non rules, just guidelines & things to keep in mind if something looks "off".
Jenn you are so amazingly knowledgeable about the topics you cover!!!!!!! Your immaculate attention to detail is truly awe inspiring ❤️❤️❤️
That’s so kind of you to say, thank you! 🥰

Love all the eyebrow videos, brows are so important! And thanks for debunking the myths. Will give some of these tips a try.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! I NEEDED THIS AND IT'S JUST IN TIME!!!❤❤❤
You are looking so pretty in this black t shirt
Thank you so much!! 😍

hello dear I have a small forehead and wide nose what can I do to distract from my wide nose?😢
Bring brow heads closer together

I loved the video! Anybody knows about another gel to lighten the eyebrows that can be purchased in Europe?
using those nose to measure never made sense to me because my nose is crooked so i just wing it with my eyebrow shape

Curtain bangs lengthen the face, she has a lot of videos about it.

Castor oil
Nicole Kidman is a good example of someone with close set eyes who has her eyebrows extended quite a bit
