@@Infodawg2012 I'm actually studying Psychology and at 20:00 she said the DSM-VI (6) and I instantly discredited everything she had to say after that. On average every new DSM is released give or take every 20 years and DSM-5 was released in 2013. There's a lot of dumb things she said that discredit her, especially since most of her arguments were based on the premise that 'I'm a PH.D and I know what I'm talking about'. She even tried to correct herself like a minute later by saying that the dsm 6 and dsm 5, you wouldn't refer to a 20 year old book in psychology, I've literally never been taught anything about the dsm 4 because it's considered outdated diagnostics and could conflict with what we now know.

Is there actual evidence that she is a PhD student? That’s honestly soooo hard for me to believe. I did some grad school, but dropped out (I hope to go back and at least get a masters some day, when possible), and I never ran into a single grad student this unintelligent, or low information, or so poorly with critical thinking skills. As undergrad psych major, I interacted with psychologists from multiple fields of psych, multiple psych TAs, and also worked as a research assistant under both a social psychologist and a cognitive psychologist: she doesn’t have the temperament, knowledge, or critical faculties of any of anyone I’ve ever interacted with in her supposed realm of academia. She doesn’t even strike me as anyone other than a less intelligent undergrad, and absolutely nothing that she says in this debate indicates knowledge beyond an undergrad, and that’s even questionable bc she doesn’t know the DSM only goes up to the DSM 5, and she gets a lot of basic psych data wrong... Unless there’s absolutely incontrovertible proof that she’s in grad school, or has a graduate degree of any kind, I’m not believing it, bc she clearly can’t be taken at her own word...

I think she's a TA or maybe just started out as a professor and is probably teaching a class or two ( usually when new professors start out they are adjunct and they only teach one class at first, and it's the basic intro class).
As a person in higher education, it's really funny to me when people flex about their PhD or act like that makes them an expert on everything. The higher in education you go the more you discover the flaws within it. Remember when you were a first grader and you thought kids in high-school knew everything but then you grew up and faced reality? The higher up in education you go, the more you experience this phenomenon. I used to hold people with PhDs in a certain regard when I was in undergrad, but when you enter it yourself the veil is lifted.
Don't get me wrong there is something to be said about the hard work we put in and our expertise in certain specific areas but that doesn't make you a god over the hard working mechanic who also has expertise in their area.
Especially when their PhD has nothing to do with the matter at hand...like wtf does your media psych degree have to do with climate change

I went to college in West Virginia and she is factually incorrect on the basis that legislation destroyed coal. The coal industry destroyed itself by replacing all the jobs with machines because it was safer and cheaper. Coal companies exploited West Virginia people, encouraged them to stay in coal towns with little to no education, making the illiterate rate extremely high. Only for coal companies to over work and over produce coal to the point where coal in west Virginia became impractical to get to. Not to mention the multitude of lawsuits against coal companies for not considering coal miners safety and never covered black lung treatments or treatments such as losses of limbs from falling coal mounds. Coal companies destroyed themselves not the other way around
