A wonderful conversation, I particularly appreciated the point that we do our best but we are not perfect … that brings a sense of ease rather than striving (which I can suffer from). Also Gen Menla’s thoughts on rest are very original and helpful. Thank you ☺️
This resonated on many levels for me, so thank you Gen Menla and Kadam Adam very much. For sharing your insights and the many pieces of practical advice . I will listen to this one over and over. ❤
Thanks for having such a meaningful conversation about the importance of self care. It's so important to realise that this is how we can care for others and not selfish in sny way. The simple methods discussed will benefit many people. Thanks again ❤

@clarabudescu8969 Thank you for your comments. For some reason a couple of them were hidden by UA-cam and we've only just discovered them. I'm not sure why! So happy to hear that you are enjoying these conversations and wishing you all the very best with your practice.
Thank you so much for this meaningful conversation, I travelled to a pure land! Now back and to put all these pure advices into practice ❤ thank you 🙏🏻
I needed this im forwarding it to mum ,my dad has got dementia and its been terrible she has just got to a really bad place not coping ,Thank you for this we are all afraid of loss ,i think if we definitely knew we would see our loved ones again after death because to think of the end is hard 😢
Thank you so much for your comment - this is exactly why we've been making this podcast - it makes such a difference to hear this kind of wisdom advice.
I am the caregiver of my mother. I am in my 7th year of caring for my mother with her dementia worsing. There are times caring for her is exhausting being that her self grasping is so strong. And her powers of discrimination have decreased. I’m literally making decisions for her. Making prayers and puja practices have been quite helpful. But my sense of restlessness has increased and my meditation practice has suffered. I do receive help from family and in doing so, have been able to attend Festivals.
@denisepeter7050 Thank you for sharing your experience of care-giving so openly and honestly. It's so important that we have these kinds of conversations about the reality of what care-givers take on and the challenges they face. Whilst your assessment is that your mind is restless and your meditation practice has suffered through the challenges of this role, I've no doubt that your informal practices of meditation - training in patience, love, selflessness, humility and so on - will have developed and deepened through your experiences. The Buddhist master Je Tsongkhapa said that the meditation break (time spent out of formal meditation) is more important as this comprises most of our life, so please stay encouraged! Wonderful that you can make it to festivals as well! Much love and prayers to you and your mother.
I needed to hear this message today! Having to care for my mother who suffers from dementia. Thank you always Gen Menla for your guidance.
