You are definitely the best UA-camr out there! Love hearing all the orioles and warblers singing in the background. Most UA-camrs ruin there videos with background music. Just hearing the water and natural sounds is music to my ears. Please don’t change a thing.
You got to love those days on the Driftless when the Black Caddis hatch is on. You're so right about keeping your shadow off the water on these clear water spring creeks. Trout can sense large black moving objects very well and one shadow can spook an entire run. So glad you found that first stream on the second day - it's one of my favorites. My PB Brown Trout was caught there, along with several Tigers. I've scored a Brown/Brookie/Rainbow trifecta there on multiple occasions. Further up on that stream there are some big Brookies hiding out under the banks. Another great video Drew!
I like your bumper sticker idea! I get those waders off ASAP in spring (a bit later here in Western Canada) and do not put em on until, weeeeellll, maybe soon. Let me know if you ever want to come up here and fish some cutties. I'l be happy to take you out and show you around.
Thanks Uncle Drew! Living vicariously during the week through your videos…here to be your 2nd set of hands/film crew guys if you need one…always enjoy your natural “song for the ride” videos. Keep up the inspirational videos
Awesome. Reminds me of some PA spring creeks I used to fish - but never caught that many 😮. Has me itching to break out the old 7.5 3 wt. Those were some beautiful brownies, Drew. Thanks.
Those were some nice trout. Fryin' pan size, as they say. The stream looks like modest trout water with modest cover but some nice runs and channels. Best of all? No trees to impede the backcast! Thanks Drew. From Michigan, 4/12/24. Sixteen days until the Michigan trout opener. Headed to camp with the same 6 guys for 25 years. Is it time to go yet???
It's looking like the Wisconsin driftless basin has one of the greatest densities of trout and trout of size, while the Milwaukee harbor has world class trout and a good salmon fishing.
Drew i know where you are. They changed the regs, and yes it used to be catch and release. The DNR rebuilt the stream across the road and its very nice, all public. Next time you come this way, let me know Ill give you some tips on more places to go.
Drew --Thanks for spending time here in the Driftless and dropping money at Turbo's ... someone mentions a hash brown burger, we know where that is. You may have fished some of my regular haunts. Tight lines!
I’m new to the area, I have a feeling but want to check.. 4x leader with 5x tippet, 6 or 7x for those delicate presentations? Pretty much the way to go for those size streams?
Hey Drew! Was wondering what fly line you have on your superfine. Setting up a creek rod myself right now and looking for ideas. Got my eye on the IMX-pro creek 379 from g Loomis currently.
I’ve seen your videos on how to find streams but how do you find campsites in Wisconsin? The ones you stay in don’t look like they are in state or county parks.
They’ve changed a lot of these creeks that used to be CR only to five under 12” because so many have huge populations of 10” fish and they need some harvesting. I wouldn’t walk past water because I didn’t see a fish either, they’re there even if you can’t see them barring a fish kill.
Do you know anything about WV trout fishing, there is so much to learn and it’s confusing as I’m the only person in my family that fishes let alone fly fishes. Some of these trout are the most gorgeous fish I’ve seen.
I just started fly fishing and im absolutely hooked, just so much fun and challenging! Do you have any advice on stopping smaller fish from swallowing dry flies, because I dont want to keep the small ones. Thanks for you for your inspiring videos.
The smaller the fish / the tastier. Smaller than pan size. Sure, takes a dozen-15 for a meal, but they're non-breeders at that age. Release the larger breeding ones . "Catch and Release" is a feel good /misguided practice (ref: Rock Creek, Mt. A "Blue Ribbon" stream.) ☆
The problem that some of our smallest driftless streams have is that they're subject to winter kills and farm runoff that will knock a stream down for a few years. A stream that was great last year may not have any fish the next. Some of my favorite streams aren't what they used to be. The good news is they usually rebound within a couple years or so.
When you say you didn't see any fish did you even wet a line? Not all fish are advertising their location. I fish the Iowa driftless and somedays I only catch a few after a couple hours. Somedays I catch 20.
I understand your enthusiasum, but please, when you are talking, S-L-O-W....T--H-E....H-E-C-K ....DOWN. It will make watching your videos so much more enjoyable. Thank you for doing what you are doing. Keep it up!
Nope, too much walkin and talkin. Then at 8 minutes you take off driving. Sorry but I don't like the way you blabber so much and don't fish, just my opinion...
Enjoyed watching drew, to me small streams always fish better and hold quality size fish. I have a question, I love fishing what we call Blueline streams, which is mostly what I fish. Those small streams you were fishing, are they considered Blueline streams? Tight lines. 👍

At 13:00 - 15:00 you found a honey-hole as good as any Ive ever seen! Well done for not giving up.
You are definitely the best UA-camr out there! Love hearing all the orioles and warblers singing in the background. Most UA-camrs ruin there videos with background music. Just hearing the water and natural sounds is music to my ears. Please don’t change a thing.
Driftless area! Your back! Awesome!
You're living the dream! Awesome little stream in such a beautiful countryside.
Little stream, nice trout! Splendid fly fishing. Thanks mister!❤
Glad you enjoyed it
Man I love it when they're looking up. Another good video, Drew!
You and me both!
Love the good vibes! Great place to fish too!

U got The spirit!!!congratulations!!!💪👍✌️
Wow - those are some awesome wild Browns!
Loving the long videos and that dry fly stretch at the end. Picture perfect stuff!!

That take at 13:48... So subtle. Well Done!!
It reminds me of the Driftless! Great place to fish!
Tis
So perfect...The stream...all of it...good for you Drew...
That trip was super fun!
That was magic! Thanks so much. This small stream was just like some Scottish Border burns but the trout were much bigger.
Thanks Uncle Drew! Living vicariously during the week through your videos…here to be your 2nd set of hands/film crew guys if you need one…always enjoy your natural “song for the ride” videos. Keep up the inspirational videos
Great video Drew.
You caught more in a day than i do in a year
I’ve been saying Drew is perhaps the single greatest fly fisherman I have seen. Legendary
That looked like a blast!
That week definitely was a blast!
My god that's beautiful water...
Awesome. Reminds me of some PA spring creeks I used to fish - but never caught that many 😮. Has me itching to break out the old 7.5 3 wt. Those were some beautiful brownies, Drew. Thanks.
That pool at 14:30 was full of trout. Awesome video
I love the Driftless. I might return someday.
cool dry fly action spring creek style
the stream at 7:40 is great water......you hike downstream about 3/4 mile and fish back to the bridge. bug bows and browns there.
those are some beautiful browniesa!\

Looks like a great way to start the day. How did you brew the coffee though??
I’m new to the area, I have a feeling but want to check.. 4x leader with 5x tippet, 6 or 7x for those delicate presentations? Pretty much the way to go for those size streams?
Really enjoy your vids. Great job! Thanks for not adding some audio camouflage in for form of canned elevator music.
What kind of indicator are you using?
Hey Drew, what app do you use to find these campsites? Tight lines!
Hey Drew! Was wondering what fly line you have on your superfine. Setting up a creek rod myself right now and looking for ideas. Got my eye on the IMX-pro creek 379 from g Loomis currently.
Running orvis pro textured
Great video. The burger shot after fishing is quite familiar. Thank you.

You mention the brown trout were not that big. What's your opinion on why you are catching only small brown trout in the Driftless Area streams?
Do you know anything about WV trout fishing, there is so much to learn and it’s confusing as I’m the only person in my family that fishes let alone fly fishes. Some of these trout are the most gorgeous fish I’ve seen.
Beautiful fish in such a small stream... What Sunglasses / Model do you wear?
Do you show which dropper you are using?

Agreed. Winter. Kill this year appears to have been widespread on the streams I’ve fished. Numbers way down from last year.
Love all your videos. Love the Driftless. But how do you avoid the cow parsnip while wet wading?
I guess I don't...not even sure what it looks like lol!
What is your nipper lanyard made from? My daughter wants one and I was just going to use paracord or old fly line and braid it.
You don't rap a hackle around your dry caddis?
What shoes do you use for wet wading?
Anglers…they are a sponsor of Whisper Flyte…..great coffee
jaysus... how many fish can be in one hole?!
I’m sure you’ve answered this before but what chest pack are you using bud?
The pinned comment to this video has a video where I walk thru my gear.
What week of the year was this?
Do you actually see the fishes in the water before casting or are you just exploring the spots?
Both...but mostly just fishing likely spots.
Bro loves to chit chat lol
What is the brand of pants you use again
Got a video on them...it's linked in the comment I pinned to this video
Did you not even wet a line in the first two streams?
When you say you didn't see any fish did you even wet a line? Not all fish are advertising their location. I fish the Iowa driftless and somedays I only catch a few after a couple hours. Somedays I catch 20.
Ever run into an area with all stocked fish and can't get a single one to bite a fly?
Where ru drew? You Idaho?
Don't get more 'Merican than tossing dozens of trout back and chompin away at fast food afterwards. 🎉
I hunt, and therefore eat....
Stressed and over pressured drought fish.
Stopped watching after 8 minutes of blah, blah, blah.

Well, you can move on to watch other fishing productions with all the loud music and amateurs.😁

They are blue lines on maps so I consider them blue lines but I'm not really into labels lol!
