These videos are almost as good as real fishing - chilled, enjoy the moment, sparse commentary that is all that is needed. Quiet time by some wonderful water and scenery, the fish being a bonus.
12:19 trout looks like a Marble Trout like in Slovenia and northern Italy! Very nice video! Definitely on my bucket list. You caught so many beautiful trout that it didn’t seem real. This is by far my favorite from your video. Thanks for sharing!!
I've grown addicted to your videos Drew. The White River is special. I've never been, but it reminds me of the upper Missouri in Montana. Pods of big fish, sipping tiny midges in a seam... like pigs at a trough. It took a double-haul cast to reach 'em, but if you hit your mark, they'd be happy to ablige. The only problem with this video, is that you caught so many big browns, it got boring afer a while (kidding)! I live on the Boise River... I have no excuses, so I'm gearing up now! Thanks Drew!
Got to love me White River action at Gastons, I need to connect with Jarrod / Mr. Flico and get him to get me out for some Aqua Therapy sessions. Good times and looking forward to the shad kill.
No doubt. I took my first trip out west in 2016 after fishing our tailwaters for nearly 10 years straight and like most, got addicted to the mountains. I'm fortunate to be able to fish both now.
@@LooknFishy I'm a Seattle native new to fly fishing 5 years ago...trying to make up for lost time! I"m lucky to have access to so my options! Take care!
Hi Drew, amazing couple days Drew! Beautiful groupings of big fish! Some of them looked a Little under weight and some fine, I guess some of that depends who gets I. The best feeding Lane. Dan Brent
Awesome trip! I’ve never fished below Bull Shoals but it looks like that’s where all the nice browns are. When I go to White I go below Beaver. I’ll be lookin to try a different section next trip out. Thanks for the content.
We fish the white every October. Amazing river. Launch in Cotter at the Bull Shoals damn. Flippin fly guides and Rising River guides. We lucked out and hit the shad kill last year. 10+ browns each over 20". Unreal. Great video Drew.
Another great video, Drew. I've heard a lot of good stuff about the trout fishing on the White. I spent a lot of time with friends in Fordyce and in the flooded timber of Bayou Meto but it's always been during duck season. Never been out there during the summer but I need to make a trip out to chase some of those big browns.
In my neck of the woods, I like fishing below the dam as it turns into the White river, good stuff. Only ever seem to catch rainbows there though, someday soon I need to float the rest for the other species.
Drew dude, it was cool watching you fish a big river. Did you say that one fish was a cutbow? (I did know there cutthroat species in that part of the country). Thanks for bringing us along!
Yup occasionally I catch one. Prior to 2016 this was all I did. Traveling out west has really made me appreciate my Arkansas tailwaters. I definitely got spoiled lol!
I took them all them time when they were kids. Even had 2 boats but they never really took to it. I did take my wife redfishing 2 weeks ago to celebrate our 23rd anniversary. She loved kayaking in the marsh...not so much the fishing lol.
From the last AGFC study I read the average brown in the white is just under 16"s...so I'd say all these were above average fish. I also read somewhere that only like 4% of browns in the white were above 24"s. So I'm good with saying anything in the 17 to 23" class is big and above 24 is trophy size or lifetime class but that's just my opinion and we all have a different view on it which is cool!
Very pretty river, love the color of the water. I say by the way those fish look, they must eat very well. Must be a very bug rich river. Enjoyed watching. Thanks drew. 👍
It's a very healthy river...midges for days. The caddis can get so thick it looks like it's snowing. Then there's enough small stockers to feed the trophy browns!

The White is a great river. Thanks for the video, love those big browns.
Some very beautiful fish 🎣! Wow! And such clear water! Thanks for sharing!
I live vicariously through your video, catching, netting and releasing - I found my self lifting my rod arm up to SET! Thank you for the fun

Great video. Looked like a fun trip for sure. Best!
Brought back good memories of some fishing trips there. Thx.
It's such a cool river!
fished with jarrod two weeks ago
great guy
That's a trophy Tiger! I didn't know they ranged that far south. A terrific outing and another great video Drew.
All of ours are stocked by the AGFC.
Another great video! Very nice.
Love those big beautiful browns
So fun and so much different from your Idaho, Montana, Wyoming fishing! Thanks as aways for the entertainment!

Sweet casting between the trees! I need to go there!
Definitely a good place to fish!

beautiful huge browns , beautiful river with the mist coming off it , only thing missing was some banjo music!😂
Fished this river. Lots of stocked ‘bows but some big browns too. Had a great day. Too many to keep count.
Awesome video! Great casting for sure. I would have been in the trees some. Gorgeous fish. Made me want to go.
I live just minutes away from Gaston's and the White River! Great catch, Drew!
Been in that area many times. If I ever need a shuttle I use Copper Johns.
My buddy owns a fly shop in Fayetteville and he keeps inviting me out to fish the White. I can see now that it's worth the trip. Nice video.

Known Millner for nearly 10 years. He's a good dude!
I caught a 19lb9oz brown at Calico Rock on the White River in 2012. Might be the single biggest trout ever caught that far below the Bull Shoals dam.

It's outstanding. Fordyce is my neck of the woods lol.

The dam has some big browns too. Made this video a few year's ago.ua-cam.com/video/tB3-rqMfD0M/v-deo.html
Ton's of fish!! Makes me want to come try my luck. The sawyer oars are made here in Southern Oregon!
Definitely worth a trip!
@@LooknFishy I have a buddy here selling and moving to Rogers. It just might happen.
Interesting hearing those blue jays in the background. Don’t hear those out west.
See em everywhere in Rado mountains
Got them all over California
Great video! Can you describe how he had his tippet attached to his cooler?
I think it was just screwed into his rtic but I'll text him and ask.
He's got it riveted on. Just thru the first side of the cooler
Thanks so much!
Nice water and great fish. Heck I would fish it then water ski it. 😅
Haha I've heard similar stories!
You making your way out west soon?
This might be a dumb question but was that a wild tiger trout at 12 minutes 15 seconds?
That was beautiful trout! Was it a bull trout or a tiger trout?
Definitely a tiger. We don't have bull trout in Arkansas. Agfc stocked the tigers a few years ago.
Haha. Zombies. Good float fishing subject.
You got that right!
A big upstream line mend goes a loooooong way

Awesome fishing. You planning another safari out west again this year?
I hope to but also got family commitments so nothing over a week or 2 at most.
What was the temperature of the water?
Would you weight the dropper? Seems like it would be hard to get the fly deep with out weights?
Tungsten and .020 lead free on most of my heavy droppers.
What model is that boat?
It's a topwater but not sure which model.
Do you ever take Mrs. "Lookin' Fishy" or any of the "fishy kids"....?
I took them all them time when they were kids. Even had 2 boats but they never really took to it. I did take my wife redfishing 2 weeks ago to celebrate our 23rd anniversary. She loved kayaking in the marsh...not so much the fishing lol.

Try Nipogon River... world record brookie 22+" just awesome!!
amazing! however.... is it just me or do they all look skinny?
"I wouldn't be against being a zombie if I could still fish"
That mist at 7:30 in and the no-look catch; outstanding. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Nice, but not particularly large fish. Gotta bust ten lbs to be a true pig.

What brand of boat is that?
Probably a Shawnee or supreme with a 40hp Jet
