How easy is it to change the default setup template? Basic sharepoint templates look very "early 2000's internet" and are long overdue for.an update from MS, but im not holding my breath. I'd also prefer to up a view for Planner plan instead of a sharepoint list
Interesting question for sure, as a standard Teams Channel will not create a Team Site or a separate Security Group, whereas a Private Channel does. Therefore most people create standard Channels in a Team, but in that case, they would not have a dedicated Site and Lists for that particular use, and neither would they have a separate security group which they could manage. I guess that would be my best summary for now 😀
HI scott . I have created a 'Hub ' (communication site), and and 'associated some other 'team' sites to this hub. The idea being that ALL documents and folders will be located in my 'Teams' sites. The only reason for creating my HIB site is to share the link with 'ANYONE' so i cna publish news etc, etc, ( much as an internet site) and ANYONE interested in checking the news in my HUB site can easily do so. I do not want to share my 'associated' Team sites with extrenal users though. ( so i cna keep them pout of reach of my files an folders. Hene the purpose of my communication site will be prettry much like any internet site. It looks like 'Sharepont' doe sNOT allow me to do such things. Is this correct ? Thanking you in advance. Kind Regards . MAritn ( south africa)
Sadly Martin, you are indeed correct - there is no opportunity to share a SharePoint Site (Intranet or Team Site) with 'Anyone' externally, like you could do with a Sharing Link on a File or Folder. Therefore a SharePoint Site could at maximum be used to share content with everyone internally, but there is no way that anyone could access your Site externally with a web address - like you could with a Website. Hope that helps

Awesome, i am glad it helped and your team liked it. I’ll do more content soon on using SharePoint in better ways 😄

Is there any benefit on creating SharePoint sites over creating via Teams Channel?

@ thx a lot. Perfectly explained.

Trying to make a CMDB in sharepoint is a challenge
Absolutely, you would certainly need to think about Information Management and how content can be easily accessed
