yeah i don't think gabimaru is normal either. the fact that the clan chief didnt attack gabimaru himself and instead had other people imprison him leads me to believe that the clan chief is not able kill gabimaru for some reason. the implication being that gabimaru is also immortal or can kill immortals.
Theory time: Gabimaru is either part tensen or the techniques/skills he uses are a way to mimic the power of the tensen as we have seen that the ninja elder is immortal, he would know what they are capable of as he has been here

While I was watching this episode earlier this morning, I realized something while Gabimaru was fighting the Tensen. While the Tensen is physically stronger than Humans in terms of their offensive strength, they're more fragile than Humans, because we can assume that the Tensen was hitting Gabimaru just as hard, if not harder than Gabimaru was hitting it, yet the Tensen was taking damage a lot more than Gabimaru. If the Tensen did not have the Ability of infinite regeneration, then they'd be a fair deal weaker than Humans.
Unfortunately that can't shut their mouth and listen of that beautiful masterpiece I swear they're just ruining the impact of the kishikai because they can't stop opening their mouth and watch
If you look closely at Zhu Jin Skin during the Lords Tensen meeting. Her skin is grey because Gabimaru messed her up during his last ditch attempt at taking her with him before Mei Arrived

This story got me hooked. That fight was dope revealed more about the tensen and their abilities origins ans limitations. Monster plant form but it drains them. Gabimaru doesn't know but if he held out longer it looks like he had a shot at winning. Them fighting these things made me think wouldn't it have been cool if they didn't have kill that big baby and could train him cause he could deliver a hand of God and probably easily fuck them up like okay you regenerate I'll just keep smacking you. And then I realized maybe them regenerating might make them better friends to him and if they had him on their side they'd probably raise him to be an ultimate guardian. Maybe the one person who broke into seven people was also a giant I don't know what to expect for the next reveal of this story and I love that.
Groot also said he received a blessing from the elixir when he was first introduced, so possibly that tensen gave him some elixir of life to not become a full tree as a repayment for watching her daughter?
Listening to the talk at the end made me realize something. What if they just turn everyone into elixir and let only one person survive and leave the island with the elixir to show proof and spread the rumors of the elixir
