    Great video Tim. I think the fact you don't edit out your mistakes is part of the charm of this channel, mate. It reminds me of working on my own C1.
    Got blisters up my arm from adjusting the ******* belt tension last weekend. Engine must have been a bit hotter than I thought and the stupid thing kept squeeling.

    Its just like I was there with you , great video as usual ,,, today my wee 107 had a blow out at the exhaust ,,, so I stuck it on the ramp , and went to weld it up ,,, just to discover the welder needed a bottle of gas ,,, 80 quid , and a roll of wire , 23 quid , so I grabbed lubch when I was out 8quid , a new pair of gloves 16 quid , and a new pair of safety glasses ,, bought the kids at my friends farm , whos ramp I use an ice cream 10 quid , and topped the landrover up with diesel , 30 quid , I was using it to go far gas ,,, and wire etc ...
    still back box welded , that saved thirty quid ,
    some days your the dog '................

    That new coolant is an interesting colour, if I saw that in a car I'd think it wanted changing. At 27:15 you can see it mixing in with the old stuff which is neon pink, whereas the new stuff is brown. I didn't pay attention to the orientation of the thermostat so that hole isn't at the top - learned something for next time, thanks.

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  2 роки тому

      Yea I think the stuff I used last time when I did a coolant flush was a bit more pink/red than this, which looked pink in the bottle but seemed a little bit brown when I started pouring it out.

    Hiya - thanks for the tutorial. At 27:33 the connector to the right of the thermostat housing hole and next to your thumb, is that the coolant temp sensor with 2 wires going to it?
    My daughters C1 radiator fan is constantly on when the engine is on and I reckon changing that may fix it, if its knackered.
    Any thoughts appreciated - thanks.

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos

      It is yes. This could be at fault but make sure it’s not just low on coolant, as that often brings fans in

    Can anyone tell me what temperature is your aygo c1 107 running when fully warmed up? Mine never got warmer than 82 - 83, so naturally I thought thermostat is stuck open, changed it for a new one and no difference. Opening temp on the stat is 82. I understand that this is car designed to run around cities, start - stop traffic etc., but running at 82 too low. Thinking about sourcing thermostat with same dimension but different opening temperature, perhaps 87 - 88 degrees. Anyones input appreciated. Cheers

      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  11 місяців тому +1

      Thanks mate. Yes mine is the same since changing the stat. It used to be about 88°C and warmed up faster. I did put an aftermarket stat in though, and it’s not uncommon for them to open a little bit early in my experience

    Hey Tim, recently I’ve noticed my radiator hasn’t been coming on. I’m not getting any overheating issues and never had the warning in my dash but I’m suspecting thermostat issues now that I think about it. My radiator has started leaking somewhere after having a bump with someone braking for no reason, I think it’s somewhere around the coolant bottle tbh. Do you think I should be worried about thermostat being the issue or should I get a new radiator on and get on with my day. The radiator itself holds coolant but I can visibly see it leaking from somewhere when I’m under the car
    Thanks

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  7 місяців тому

      If it’s leaking visibly then it deffo needs a new one, as it will get too low and overheat like mine did
