- From the seventh season premiere: S7EP1: The Victory
Alexis dismisses Jeannette from the household staff for her “insubordination” for helping Krystle and Kristina at the Carlton Hotel. Amanda scolds Alexis for her cruelty towards Jeannette and how she stole the mansion from Blake. Alexis attempts to make Amanda understand and promises her a better future for her. Amanda believes that Alexis is motivated by her hatred for Blake rather than love for Amanda who decides to move out of the house.
I honestly didn't think that amanda 2 (karen cellini) was that bad to be honest! Catherine oxenburg (amanda 1) was fired over a pay dispute! So for karen cellini taking over a well established role wasn't easy for her! Apparently the fans didn't like her so the producers got rid of her too after she was only in 13 episodes! & the amanda character was never mentioned ever again lol 😂
I didn’t like Karen Cellini because she wasn’t good looking as Catherine Oxenberg.
It wasn't really Karen's fault. She was casted out of poorness because she didn't look or acted like Catherine and they just picked some random person to do this role. How ridiculous. They didn't think to have her sound British or better yet, CAST someone who was? This scene here shows Karen had what it took to make a suitable Amanda and had she had the accent down, she would have been fine. But poor direction is why the casting failed with audiences. Not as bad as the Fallon recasting and for the life of me is trying to understand how they had us endure Emma Samms for as long as they did before finally getting her right by Season 9. WHO IS RECASTING THESE CHARACTERS AND MAKING THEM SO INCONSISTENT TO WHAT CAME BEFORE? I don't get it. Do it right or don't do it at all. Amanda was brought in to replace Fallon anyway so there was real need to bring Fallon back at all only to have her be a stiff for three years on both here and a spinoff show. -_-
Jeannette was fired for driving Krystle to the hotel. Gerard was also with them but he never got fired
As Alexis said, she also helped Krystle to unpack and get settled in.
The new Amanda had to be the worst actress in history
She makes Bo Derek look like Meryl Streep 😂
Like how many different actors did they have playing these parts? Two Stephens, Two Fallons, Two Amanda's...And they keep switching back and forth between American and English actors ...
Karen Cellini was terrible.
@@mikep5335there were two Adams, too!!
@@Mister_Listener that's crazy!
@@mikep5335 haha. Yup!!
Rest in peace Virginia Hawkins (Jeanette) 1934-2020❤🙏🏻
Good grief Amanda’s acting was dreadful. Horrible casting. Joan was probably cringing working with such a bad actress .
Come on - good acting and Dynasty never really went hand in hand even since Day One.
I don't think she was that bad in this particular scene. The recast turned to be a misstep but Catherine Oxenberg was never an extraordinary actress, too. Let"s not forget a horrible script of the seventh season, the whole Michael Culhane storyline was a disaster. I really don't think Karen Cellini's predecessor could do any better than she did in the mess created after La Mirage got burnt. At that point series had alreday been past its best time and the ninth season two years later was just but also at least a pretty satisfactionary yet not stunning swan song, not a rebirth some people claim it to have been. Returnig to Amanda I think her exit and not being mentioned again is not only one of the most pathetic examples (if not the most pathetic) of Dynasty's way to get rid of characters the production team did not know what to do with (remember, she was a Falllon's filler-in, no doubt about it). Again, Karen was a bad choice and not a good actress, however it was more a terrible script than her acting that made Amanda disappear.
@@kamilaop5036 I agree that Catherine Oxenberg wasn’t very good either . Both of them could have benefited from a few acting classes lol. Their shortcomings really standout in scenes with old pros like Joan Collins, John Forsythe and Linda Evans . I was never a fan of the Amanda character as was not sorry to see her go. I concur the show mishandled it completely .
There were plenty of unnecessary or annoying (or both) characters throughout the entire Dynasty's run: Lindsay, Kirby, Jackie, Leslie, Virginia. Still I believe it was bad storylines not the actresses that led the audience not even to hate them but just ignore which I think is even worse for any perfomer and any show. On the other hand there were attention-grabbing personas like Dominique or Caress whose plots were also cut abruptly leaving many craving for seeing more of them. Dynasty was glamour, fun, camp and for sure a great entertaiment in its all special way which paradoxically also meant a careless writing with lots of goofs and continuity gaps.
@@kamilaop5036 This Amanda never bothered me at all.
Karen Cellini was no better or worse an actress than Catherine Oxenburg, but they only looked the same. She was bad casting. Karen was too homespun and sweet-natured cowgirl type…she did not sizzle or have any glamor or oversize persona. Kinda sad she just disappeared from acting altogether, adding to the idea that she was a failure. Hugs, Karen!!!!
Amanda ran off like a 12 yr old. Bad Director.
La nouvelle amanda n avait aucun charisme ni aucun talent désolé de dire ça mais c est la vérité elle est restée 13 épisodes je préférais de loin Catherine oxenberg
😂😮bad acting!!
I wish Jeannette had cried.
😂😂😂
Jeannette was a much bigger person than that
It is weird that nobody realizes how beautiful Virginia Hawkins was as Jeanette, because she was just playing the maid.
If Jeannette had a contract with Blake, she never worked for alexis at first place.
This is actually one of Amanda II’s better scenes. At least she not smiling her way through this scene like she usually does.
Also, two months severance is pay is pretty darned good IMHO.
I agree. Her demeanor here was much better. Just a shame she couldn't carry this more. Her smiling got really annoying, like she was finding everything a joke or trying too hard to be "cutesy". If she maintained this attitude with the UK accent that was noticeably missing, then Karen could have made a suitable replacement here. Whoever was directing this season really failed to make her consistent to what we saw from Catherine Oxenberg.
Poor Jeanette...
Karen Cellini is new Amanda and think is better and maybe must play in season 9 with fallon Emma Samms!
was that Amanda? wow
What if Amanda and Fallon had a brutal fight over their father s love
